DLF-3000 Firmware Upgrade Utility v3.0 Notes
INTRODUCTION
These instructions summarize the steps required when you are installing the
DLF-3000 Firmware Upgrade Utility or upgrading the firmware for a
POWERLOGIC® or device.
If you are unsure that your device is supported by this utility, see the
“Downloads” section of our website or contact our technical support group.

The DLF-3000 Firmware Upgrade Utility CD contains the following:
• DLF-3000.exe which includes the upgrade utility and its help file
• Firmware upgrade utility notes PDF (this document)
INSTALLING DLF-3000
FIRMWARE UPGRADE UTILITY
The first step is to install the DLF-3000 Firmware Upgrade Utility. If you have
an earlier version of DLF installed, you must first uninstall it.
Uninstalling Earlier Versions of DLF
To uninstall, follow these steps:
1. On your Windows task bar, click Start > Settings > Control Panel.
2. Click the Add/Remove Programs icon. Select the DLF program and
remove it.
Installing DLF-3000
To install the DLF-3000 Firmware Upgrade v3.0 Utility, follow these steps.
1. Insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive.
2. Double-click DLF-3000.exe.
The utility and all associated files will be installed onto your hard drive.

The next step is to download the firmware from the Square D website as
described in this section.
1. Open your web browser and access the Square D website at:
http://www.powerlogic.com
2. Select Tech Support at the top of the web page.
3. From the Technical Support page, select Downloads to display the
login page.
4. To log in, enter your email address and password.
NOTE: If you are a first-time user, you’ll need to register as a new user.
The download selections display.
5. Select the appropriate device and follow the instructions provided to
download the firmware to your hard drive.You may be required to
download more than one file.

Upgrading the Firmware
After you have installed the DLF-3000 Firmware Upgrade Utility v3.0, it
creates a folder called DLF-3000 on the drive that you selected during the
installation (the default location is C:\DLF-3000). The DLF-3000 help
contains all the instructions needed for downloading the firmware into
your device.
NOTE:
While you are downloading firmware to any POWERLOGIC device, the
device relays will de-energize and the device will not communicate. When
the download is complete, the device will reset. The order of upgrading is:
a. Download the firmware for all circuit monitors with an Ethernet
Communications Card (ECC21) first.
b. After all circuit monitors with ECCs are upgraded, download the
firmware for all circuit monitors connected by serial port or any other
MODBUS/TCP interface.
Follow these steps to download the firmware into your device:
1. Copy all of the new firmware files that you downloaded from our website
into the DLF-3000 folder.
2. From the Windows task bar, click Start > Programs > DLF-3000. Select
DLF-3000 to launch the utility.
3. From DLF-3000, click the Help button to open the DLF-3000 help file.
4. Open the Tutorial in the Help contents on the left and follow the tutorial
instructions for downloading.
