5.0 Implementing a network controller shift
A network primary controller shift can not be started if:
1.
GB
2.
The RZ1/RZ1-HP has created the network and is the existing
primary, as it is the networks SIS by default.
The RZ1/RZ1-HP is a secondary network controller and not the
SUC and no other SIS is in the network.
If a user attempts to do a controller shift and points 1 and 2 apply the
process will fail automatically.
For the different methods of initiating a primary controller shift
please see the rest of section 5.
5.1 Initiating a primary controller shift in an
undefined network using RZ1
Should you wish to carry out a controller shift before a network has
been set-up this will be available by following the steps below:

Should you wish to promote the RZ1 to the role of primary controller
in your network, do so by following the same process as for including
the RZ1 as a secondary controller in a network (See section 4.4).
GB
NOTE: It is the responsibility of the existing network controller to
initiate a controller shift, which the RZ1 will support.
6.0 Using the Protection Capabilities
This product supports the Z-Wave protection command class.
A device associated to an output relay on the RZ1 can use the
protection command class to:
• Stop a user from manually overriding a relay via the channel push
buttons using local protection.
• Stop another RF device controlling the relay via a wireless
command using RF exclusive protection.
