INTRODUCTION 4.1 SCOPE 4 Ultrasonic cleaning is based on the cavitation effect caused by high frequency ultrasonic wave vibration in fluid. Microscopic bubbles are formed and they implode violently causing the cavitation which creates an intense scrubbing action on the surface of the item being cleaned. The bubbles are small enough to penetrate microscopic crevices, cleaning them thoroughly. Ultrasonic cleaning is extremely effective at removing dirt and grime which would normally require tedious manual cleaning. To be used with just water or non volatile cleaning agent can be added. Transducer Generator N J NOTE: Ultrasonic cleaning is an intense microscopic cleaning process, it is NOT designed to clean heavily soiled items, these will require manual cleaning first. f Detergent can be added a O Tiny Vibrations Cavitation 4.2 SPECIFICATION STOCK NO cence, A 60985... 60987 Part no ............... en ancooneaceeeneo een. 0[eı 5 UCTOL ersteren UCT27L Rated voltage .……….….................….….….….….…. 230V~. ieee, 230V~ ieee 230V- Rated frequency AOKHZ....................emeenncnnee.. DO NOT place the device on a soft surface, where the vents could be blocked. . Always turn the heater off after using as leaving it on can cause the fluid to evaporate and damage the internal components. . Upon completion of the cleaning cycle, turn the heater and isolate the machine from the electrical. . Take care when adding or removing items from the cleaning, as the fluid is likely to be hot and displaced fluid can damage the internal components. Any displaced fluid must dried up immediately. In the event of failure/emergency, disconnect the mains supply by removing the plug from the mains socket. IMPORTANT CAUTION: 1. 2. Never immerse the machine or power cord 3. in water or other liquid. DO NOT touch the power plug with wet hands, especially when inserting or removing the plug. Not recommended for use with items that can be discoloured, waterlogged, or damaged easily. Loose, delicate, or inlaid items may become dislodged by ultrasonic vibrations. For example: Semi-precious stones, cloth items, leather products, wood items, costume jewellery, or soft stones like pearls, opals, turquoise, coral, emeralds etc. Do not place mobile phones or non-waterproof watches into tank for cleaning. Do not place glass frames or articles that are made from tortoise shell or abalone shell. 4. When cleaning smaller pieces, place items into the plastic basket, then place basket into tank. 5. HEALTH & SAFETY INFORMATION 5.2 CONNECTION TO THE POWER SUPPLY Make sure the power supply information on the machine's rating plate are compatible with the power supply you intend to connect it to. This device comes supplied with a UK standard 3 pin plug fitted. It is designed for connection to a domestic power supply rated at 230V AC. Because it is constructed mostly of metal parts, it is a Class 1 machine; meaning, it must have an earth connection in the power supply. This is to prevent electrocution in the event of a failure. Apart from replacing the fuse in the plug, no other electrical work is recommended on this device. 6. TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION 6.1 IDENTIFICATION Lid. Wire basket. Lifting handle. Tap and drain. Use warm temperature about 50°C. Enhanced Cleaning Add few drops of standard washing up liguid, liquid soap, or detergent into water, other non-acidic cleaning agents can also be used. Extensive Cleaning Removing tarnish, carbon & rust from non-plated metals, it is recommended to use a specialist-cleaning solution designed for use with an ultrasonic cleaner. WARNING: Strong acid or alkaline cleaning solution will cause corrosion, rust and even puncture of tank or machine body. The cleaning solution will deteriorate in effectiveness over time and use. It is important to regularly change the fluid and carefully wash the inside of the cleaning tank in order to preserve the effectiveness and longevity of the cleaner. Do not use corrosive or abrasive cleaning products on the tank, which must be wiped down and dried before it can be stored. NOTE: If the machine starts to spark, smoke, smell of burnt electrics or displays any other fault the operator must immediately stop the machine, isolate the electrical supply and contact the supplier. Continued used to dangerous. 7. OPERATION 7.3 ADVANTAGE Ultrasonic cleaning is widely used throughout industries to remove difficult contaminants from parts during or after the manufacturing process, which might require a stage of cleaning before the next process. In general, if an item can be cleaned with liquid, it can be cleaned much faster and more thoroughly with an ultrasonic cleaner, compared to traditional solvent/scrubbing methods of cleaning in a parts washer, our ultrasonic cleaners: e Are more effective at removing contamination * Are quicker to achieve the results you want e Save employee time (and consequently money). * Are heated to allow cleaning solvents to work more effectively e Use timers for simplicity, precision and longevity * Produce less mess during use e Less chemistry e Consistent, repeatable cleaning result. 7.4 FOR BETTER CLEANING EFFECT * The item should be immersed well into the water. NOTE: Do not exceed the "MAX" water level mark. e Warm water (never hot or boiling) and a small amount of washing up liquid will help increase the cleaning performance. * Make sure there is good space around each part you put in the tank, the more items that you place in the tank the less efficiently it will clean. It is not advised to overlap items, if you lay items one on top of the other, the system doesn't work the way it's supposed to. * Basket uses. Do not put items directly into the bottom of the tank, a better cleaning effect will result with a suitable basket. A metal basket absorbs less ultrasonic energy at about 8%. e Temperature: The higher temperature the better cleaning effect. However, when temperature exceed 70°C-80°C, cleaning effect will be reduced. The temperature range we recommend is between 40°C - 60°C. 10 8. MAINTENANCE 8.1 GENERAL CLEANING Use only tap or distilled water. The water should submerge the items to be cleaned, but not exceed the "MAX" water level mark. 8.2 ENHANCED CLEANING When the items are very dirty, add 1-2 drops of washing up liquid into water to improve the cleaning result. For certain items/materials a non volatile cleaning agent can be added. 8.3 OVERSIZED ITEMS For large items, partly clean 8.4 CARE AND MAINTENANCE 1. Regularly check the mains power plug and cord. DO NOT run the machine for extended time or continuously. DO NOT hit the machine. Handle with care and only move the machine when empty. Wipe machine housing and tank with a dry towel before storing. Keep machine in a cool, dry place when storing. PUN 11 | CONTACTS - DRAPER TOOLS LIMITED, Hursley Road, Chandler's Ford, Eastleigh, Hampshire.
