Frequently asked questions

To start a cold engine, push the primer five (5) times before trying to start. Use a firm push. Push the engine speed selector lever forward to the "HIGH" position. Hold down the operator presence control bar to the handle and pull the starter handle quickly. Do not allow the starter rope to snap back. To "STOP" the engine, release the operator presence control bar. If necessary, repeat priming steps in cooler weather. In warmer weather, over priming may cause flooding. Wait a few minutes before attempting to start, and do not repeat priming steps.

Raise the wheels for a low cut and lower the wheels for a high cut. Wheels are shipped in the low cut position. To change the cutting height, squeeze the adjuster lever toward the wheel. Move the wheel up or down to suit your requirements. Be sure all wheels are in the same setting.

Turn the mower on its side with the carburetor and fuel cap up. Remove the engine oil cap with the dipstick and lay it aside on a clean surface. Warm oil drains better. Tip the mower on its side and drain the oil into a suitable container. Rock the mower back and forth to remove any oil trapped inside the engine. Wipe off any spilled oil on the mower and side of the engine. Refill the engine with oil, only to the "FULL" line on the dipstick. DO NOT overfill. Replace the oil fill cap.
