Frequently asked questions

To add a new satellite, you will need to refer to a current satellite television guide to find the satellite channel chart pages. This chart will show you where the satellites are and what channels are active. You will then need to move your dish to a programmed, known satellite that is nearest to the desired new satellite. Turn off the Parental Control. Put the receiver in Program Mode and turn on the Channel Scan and Auto Tune. Use the EAST or WEST keys to line up the dish on the new satellite. The receiver will scan the channels until it finds a strong signal. Once you have found the new satellite, use the Channel UP and DOWN keys to view the channels. Press C-SAT or Ku-SAT, enter the 2-part alphanumeric name, and press ENTER to automatically fine tune the satellite position. The receiver will then be back in Auto Mode. You can now select the new satellite by its 2-part alphanumeric name.

If you must use your EAST or WEST keys to obtain a clear picture on a certain satellite, every time you view that satellite, it is necessary to fine tune that satellite. To do this, move to the satellite in question. Use the EAST and WEST keys to obtain the best possible picture and then follow the steps in the Add a New Satellite procedure, as if you are entering this satellite as a new satellite.

To delete a satellite, you must first turn off the Parental Control and put the receiver in Program Mode. Press C-SAT or Ku-SAT and then press CANCEL to view the satellite cancel list. Use the EAST or WEST keys to scroll through the list of satellites and move the arrow to the satellite name you wish to delete. Press CANCEL again to erase the satellite name and location from the memory. You can then put the receiver back in Auto Mode.

If you are missing the odd or even known active channels on any or all satellites, first move to the satellite with missing channels and select the missing channel. If the picture is black, the problem may be a missing subscription channel. If the picture is scrambled or very snowy, turn off the Parental Control, check the Receiver's Input Mode, and perform the Skew Adjustment. If this doesn't solve the problem, check the polarization wires. If the problem still persists, it is likely the polar rotor, at the out door unit. Contact your satellite dealer/installer for assistance.
