1.0 General Information
The purpose of this information is to provide the specification for a product whose
primary purpose is the reproduction of video and / or computer graphics
information for one or more viewers.
This reproduction of this information is to be accomplished via a direct-view
plasma display monitor. This document provides the minimum specifications for
this device.
The performance comparison of displays is not only technical in nature, but is
also subjective to the user, when viewed in the final display environment. It is
recommended that devices meeting the requirements of this specification be
compared in the user’s application and environment, if possible.
2.0 Description
This product shall be classified as a direct-view plasma display color monitor, or
reference display. This device shall be directly compatible with video and / or
computer graphics sources, with the use of external devices to provide this
compatibility.
This device shall employ the use of an AC-type Plasma Display technology with
antireflection
screen for optimum display of high-resolution sources.
This device shall employ a flat cabinet style for maximum flexibility in mounting to
walls and brackets, and recessed enclosures. The bezel shall have a silver
finish.

3.1 Synchronizing
Display synchronization must accept both bi-level and tri-level sources
4.0 User Interface / Controllability Information
Control of this device shall be accomplished through one of the following
methods:
Recessed side panel controls
Infrared Remote Controller
RS-232 control using a 9 pin Dsub connector for advanced operation by external
control systems
All of these control methods shall be standard to the device, or provided at no
charge if considered an optional accessory.
The front panel controls shall employ the use of on-screen menus, available in a
minimum of 6 languages. A status menu shall display current device settings.
The infrared remote controller shall provide full control over the device. The
device shall be addressable for control over multiple devices from a single
remote control.

5.0 Performance Specifications
This device shall employ the use of an AC Type Plasma display panel with a
maximum dot pitch of 0.90mm Horizontally and 0.51mm Vertically. The minimum
native Plasma resolution shall be 1024 dots by 1024 lines.
The device shall employ the use of a 8-bit RGB driver, and support up to 16.8
million colors.
The device shall accommodate connection of external powered speakers for
multimedia applications, or connection to an amplifier for speakers using high
impedance unbalanced connections.
This device shall include an anti-reflection screen.
This device shall employ digital signal processing technology offering clocking at
a minimum of 140MHz.
This device shall accept a wide variety of signal sources, ranging from standard
composite video to HDTV, DTV and RGB computer signals. A built-in high
performance scan converter offers optimum image quality whatever the signal
format, providing accurate pixel-by-pixel image reproduction.
This device shall offer selectable aspect ratios of wide zoom, letter box zoom,
restore, subtitle or normal 4:3.
This device shall employ a layout free design for horizontal or vertical mounting.
6.0 Dimensional Information
This device shall employ the use of a 42” diagonal (42” viewable) Plasma display
panel.
This device shall have maximum cabinet dimensions of 25 inches high by 40.6
inches wide and 3.3 inches deep.
This device shall not weigh more than 62 pounds.
7.0 Connectivity Information
This device shall provide for connection and viewing of 3 source devices
simultaneously, without employing the use of an external switching device. These
connections shall include the following:

Audio on a 1/8” (Mini-plug) Connector
RGB / Component Video on a VGA (HD-15) Connector

8.0 Power Requirements
This device shall accept power at 100 - 240 VAC at either 50 or 60 Hz.
This device shall consume no more than 360 watts.
Power to this device shall be supplied via a detachable standard power cord that
is readily available for replacement from local suppliers.
