1.0 General Information
The purpose of this information is to provide the specification for a product whose
primary purpose is the reproduction of video information for one or more viewers.
This reproduction of this information is to be accomplished via a direct-view LCD
monitor. This document provides the minimum specifications for this device.
The performance comparison of displays is not only technical in nature, but is
also subjective to the user, when viewed in the final display environment. It is
recommended that devices meeting the requirements of this specification be
compared in the user’s application and environment, if possible.
2.0 Description
This product shall be classified as a direct-view LCD color monitor, or production
display. This device shall be directly compatible with video.
This device shall be directly compatible with composite video conforming to
SMPTE 170M. The device shall employ the use of an a-Si TFT active matrix LCD
This device shall employ a thin, lightweight design for use in presentation and
production applications. A viewing hood shall be provided for use in high ambient
light conditions.
A hybrid handle and stand shall be incorporated into the device for portability and
tilting of the device in field applications.
This device shall be rackmountable using an optional rackmount kit, allowing two
units to be rackmounted side-by-side.
3.0 Source Compatibility / Suitability for Application
This device shall be directly compatible with the following sources:
NTSC Video (Composite and Y/C)
PAL Video (Composite and Y/C)
4.0 User Interface / Controllability Information
Control of this device shall be accomplished through one of the following
methods:
Front control panel
Parallel Remote Control
The control panel shall be comprised of a button panel that provides access to
on-screen menu navigation. The controls accessible from the front panel shall
include:
Power On / off
Input Select
Brightness / Contrast
Audio Volume
Overscan / Underscan
Position
Sizing
Key Inhibit Function
H/V Shift
The optional parallel remote controller shall provide full control over the device
from a remote location.
5.0 Performance Specifications
This device shall employ the use of an active matrix LCD panel with AR coating
for anti-reflectivity. The minimum native LCD resolution shall be 640 dots by 480
lines.
This device shall include a built-in audio amplifier, speaker, and headphone jack
for monitoring audio sources.
This device shall provide selection between 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios, with safe-area
markers and zoom functions when in 16:9 mode.
6.0 Dimensional Information
This device shall employ the use of a 6.5 ” diagonal LCD.
This device shall have maximum cabinet dimensions of 5.38 inches high by 8.63
inches wide and 2.25 inches deep.
This device shall not weigh more than 2.2 pounds.
7.0 Connectivity Information
This device shall provide for connection of 2 source devices simultaneously,
without employing the use of an external switching device. These connections
shall include the following:
Composite Video on a BNC Connector with loop-through
Audio on a 1/8” (Mini-plug) Connector
Y/C Video on a 4 Pin DIN Connector with loop-through
Audio on a 1/8” (Mini-plug) Connector
8.0 Power Requirements
This device shall accept power at 12 V DC, using a supplied AC adapter or
optional rechargeable battery pack.
This device shall consume no more than 12 watts.
Power to this device shall be supplied via a detachable AC cable that is readily
available for replacement from local suppliers.
9.0 Safety Compliance Information

10.0 Warranty Information
This device shall carry a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty. Authorized servicing
