In buildings of conventional frame, brick, or stone, infiltration is normally adequateto provide air for combustion and for operation of the
barometric draft control. For installation in an enclosedutility room
with an outside wall, a fresh air opening to the outside should be made
with a free cross sectionalarea of twice the area of the flue outlet. For
each 1,000feet above sea level, increasefresh air opening by at least
four percent.Isolate the room from any area servedby exhaustfans.
Chimneys must be properly designed, adequately sized, terminated
above surrounding objects, unobstructed and be in a good state of
repair.All cleanoutopeningsshould be sealed.Referto boiler manual
lor details.
Allow l0 minutes for warm-up:
l. Check smoke (it should be zero on Bacarachscale).

A draft regulator is furnished and should be mounted in the smoke
pipe 18 to 20 inchesfrom collar betweenboiler and chimney. Use a
draft gaugeto adjust proper opening. When burner air supply and dralt
is properly adjusted,combustion chamber draft will be approximately
0.01" to 0.02" W.C. The largerthe installation,the greaterthe draft will
be requiredat the stack to obtain 0.0l" to 0.02" W.C. at combustion
chamber.

Set thermostat above room temperature.
By proper oiling twice a year, motor life will be

increased.Only a few drops of non-detergenttype oil at both motor
holes are needed. C)veroiling can damage the motor. Most motors
suppliednow have permanentlylubricatedbearingsand thus haveno
oiler holes.
FILTER -. Oil filter cartridge should be replaced once each year so
fuel oil will not become contaminated and plug up fuel pump and
nozzle of oil burner.
NOZZLE - Nozzle should be changed at least once each year before
start-up of heating season.Replacewith proper nozzle.
If for any reasonburner parts haveto be replaced,

always usepart numbersand descriptionswhen ordering from installer.
(IN ALL COMMUNICATIONS STATE BURNER MODEL AND
PART NUMBERS).
ELECTRODE SETTINGS - This is very important for reliable ignition of oils. Check theseonce a year. See Page 3.
FAN & BLOWER HOUSING - This must be kept clean and free of
dirt and lint. Swing open transformer to check fan bladesfor above. Be
sure electric power is OFF on burner when transformer is opened up
for this inspection.

SETTINGS ONLY MADE WITH COMBUSTION TEST EQUIPMENT.
a. Air band - set to recommendedsetting.
b. Air shutter- set to recommendedsetting.
7.
Open oil line air bleed valve.
8.
Turn on main power switch to start burner.
9.
Slip a 3/ l6 inch I.D. plastic hose over end of bleedvalve and bleed
into a container.Continue to bleedfor I 5 secondsafter oil is free of
air bubbles. Close bleed valve. Burner should ignite.
10. Make final adjustments with COMBUSTION
