This means that a reliable administration of rights and services is possible using extensive security functions for various user groups, e.g. for administrators, commissioning engineers or visitors. With two IWLAN controllers in redundant mode, up to 96 access points can be managed simultaneously. Without changing the existing network infrastructure, this opens up new possibilities for communication, such as use of Voice-over-IP, video or internet access in one single wireless network. In its maximum configuration, up to 512 WLAN clients can simultaneously have a safe and stable connection to the network via WLAN. By using extensive safety functions, the widest variety of services – such as VoIP, Internet access or process diagnostics – can be transmitted in parallel within one wireless network. Thanks to MIMO functionality, the wireless connection is extremely stable at data rates of up to 450 Mbit/s, even when deployed outdoors under extreme conditions. The use of two IWLAN controllers in redundant mode offers a high level of availability, while the automatic reconfiguration of the WLAN achieves a high level of reliability. Furthermore, there is the option of setting up intermeshed networks in order to guarantee an even greater flexibility of the wireless network.
