INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing the FR200/FR200G AM/FM/Shortwave
Radio – a perfect emergency radio and a great radio for daily use.
Its unique design allows it to be powered from a variety of sources:
1) From the built-in rechargeable Ni-MH rechargeable battery that takes charge from the dynamo crank and from an AC adaptor (AC adaptor only included with FR200G Model); 2) From 3 AA batteries;
3) From the AC adaptor alone (AC adaptor only included with
FR200G Model); 4) From the dynamo crank alone, even with no battery pack installed.
Please carefully read this OPERATION MANUAL to take advantage of the many features and excellent reception of local AM and FM stations as well as international shortwave broadcasts from around the world.

FEATURES
The FR200/FR200G AM/FM/Shortwave Radio is fully portable and with many functions and features:
• Receives AM, FM, and international shortwave broadcasts
• Receives continuous shortwave frequency coverage from 3.2-22 megahertz, which includes the 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, 31, 41, 49, 60,
75 and 90 meter bands
• Incorporates fine-tuning control knob superimposed on the main tuning control knob
• Operates on power from four different sources: 1) From the built-in rechargeable Ni-MH rechargeable battery that takes charge from the dynamo crank and from an AC adaptor (AC adaptor only included with FR200G Model); 2) From 3 AA batteries; 3) From the AC adaptor alone (AC adaptor only included with FR200G

CONNECTING POWER SOURCES
The rechargeable Ni-MH (nickel-metal-hydride) battery pack is installed and fully charged at the factory. To use this radio with AC power, an AC Adaptor is needed. When purchasing an AC Adaptor, it must meet the following specifications:
Output of 4.5 volt DC; negative polarity; 80-100 milliamperes current capability; plug tip outer diameter of 3.4 millimeter, inner diameter of 1.3 millimeter.
For the FR200G Model, a proper AC Adaptor is included.
An AC Adaptor of 80-100 milliamperes, as noted above, should charge the radio in approximately 8 hours, after which the adaptor can be left plugged in if desired and the battery will not overcharge.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
If using an AC adaptor rated higher than
80-100 milliamps, or one other than that included with the FR200G, do not allow it to charge for more than two hours and unplug the
AC adaptor after charging. If using such an AC adaptor to continuously power the radio, unplug the internal rechargeable battery.

EXTERNAL POWER/RECHARGEABLE BATTERY
Plugging an AC adaptor (AC adaptor only included with FR200G
Model) into the DC 4.5 V socket on the back of the radio will provide power for operation and will charge the Ni-MH battery pack.
To play the radio, set the POWER SELECTOR switch to the DYNAMO
ADAPTOR position. The Ni-MH battery pack will charge with the
POWER SELECTOR switch set in any of its positions.

AA BATTERY OPERATION
This radio is designed to operate on three AA batteries (not included).
Alkaline batteries should be used for longest playtime. Install the batteries by removing the battery compartment cover and following the battery polarity diagrams imprinted on the underside of the cover.
Remove the cover by simultaneously pressing on the indentation labeled OPEN and pulling it down toward the bottom of the radio.
Turn the radio on by setting the POWER SELECTOR switch to the
BATTERY position.
NOTE: if an AC adaptor is in use, the AA batteries are switched off automatically.

DYNAMO POWER
The Ni-MH battery pack can also be charged by turning the dynamo crank following the instructions below:
1. Switch the power selector to the POWER OFF position.
2. Turn the dynamo-crank vigorously either clockwise or counterclockwise. The red charging LED will be lighted during charging.
NOTE: It can be charged while the radio is playing, however it does not charge as efficiently, thus reducing playtime.
With hand-crank dynamo charging, radio operation time depends on the number of turns and time per turn. On the average, 60-90 seconds of vigorous cranking results in about 40-60 minutes of radio play at low volume, without light use. If the light is on while playing the radio, the radio playtime will be dramatically reduced. The light will always result in the Ni-MH battery discharging at a faster rate.

EMERGENCY OPERATION
Even if no power source is available, including the Ni-MH battery pack, the radio and the light can still be operated by continually turning the dynamo crank. Set the POWER SELECTOR switch to the DYNAMO ADAPTOR position.

HOW TO TURN ON AND OFF
Turn it on by selecting a power source of your choice as described above and then by setting the POWER SELECTOR switch to the
DYNAMO ADAPTOR or BATTERY position.
Turn it off by setting the POWER SELECTOR switch to the POWER OFF position.
HOW TO ADJUST THE VOLUME
Turn the VOLUME control knob until the desired volume level is heard.
HOW TO TUNE-IN STATIONS
Set the band selector rotary switch to the FM, AM, SW1, or SW2 position. Tune stations in with the TUNING knob, using the superimposed FINE TUNING control as desired. For best FM and shortwave reception, fully extend the telescopic antenna. FM reception can often be improved by rotating the telescopic antenna. For AM reception, the telescopic antenna need not be extended, as the AM antenna is an internal, directional, ferrite bar antenna. For best AM reception, rotate the radio until the best signal strength is achieved.

HOW TO OPTIMIZE SHORTWAVE RECEPTION
Being aware of the following information will help you get the best results listening to shortwave.
• Shortwave reception is best around sunrise, sunset, and at night
• Night shortwave is usually superior to day shortwave reception
• During the day, frequencies above 13 MHz are usually best
• At night, frequencies below 13 MHz are usually best
• Around sunset and sunrise, the entire shortwave range may be good
• Getting very close to a window improves shortwave reception
• Holding the radio improves shortwave reception
HOW TO USE THE EMERGENCY LIGHT
Set the FLASHLIGHT to the ON position.
HOW TO USE THE EARPHONE JACK
Plug in a set of earphones (Earphones only included with FR200G
Model) of your choice that have a 1/8 inch mono or stereo plug.
When using earphones the built-in speaker will be switched off automatically. Note that stereo earphones will work and sound will be heard from both sides, although FM is not received in stereo.

PRECAUTIONS
1. Do not drop and keep away from fire.
2. Do not use abrasive powders to clean the cabinet. Wipe it with a soft cloth moistened with a mild soap and water solution.
3. Do not leave the unit in a location near heat sources, or in a place subject to direct sunlight, excessive dust or mechanical shock.
4. Do not use old and new batteries together or different brands and types together.

5. Always remove the batteries from the radio when it is not going to be used for a long time. This will prevent the batteries from leaking inside the battery compartment.

You may contact the Etón Service Department for additional information:
Contact us for a Return Authorization prior to shipping your unit.
Should you want to return your unit for service, pack the receiver carefully using the original carton or other suitable container. Write your return address clearly on the shipping carton and on an enclosed cover letter describing the service required, symptoms or problems.
Also, include your daytime telephone number and a copy of your proof of purchase. The receiver will be serviced under the terms of the
Etón Limited Warranty and returned to you.

Etón warrants to the original purchaser this product shall be free from defects in material or workmanship for one year from the date of original purchase.

will provide, free of charge, both parts and labor necessary to correct defects in material and workmanship. At their option, Etón may replace a defective unit.
(1) Complete and send in the Warranty Registration Card within ten (10) days of purchase.
(2) Call Etón or the nearest authorized service facility, as soon as possible after discovery of a possible defect. Have ready:
(a) the model and serial number.
(b) the identity of the seller and the approximate date of purchase.
(c) a detailed description of the problem, including details on the electrical connection to associated equipment and the list of such equipment.
(3) Etón will issue a Return Authorization number and the address to which the unit can be shipped. Ship the unit in its original container or equivalent, fully insured and shipping charges prepaid.
Correct maintenance, repair, and use are important to obtain proper performance from this product. Therefore carefully read the Instruction
Manual. This warranty does not apply to any defect that Etón determines is due to:
(1) Improper maintenance or repair, including the installation of parts or accessories that do not conform to the quality and specification of the original parts.
(2) Misuse, abuse, neglect or improper installation.
(3) Accidental or intentional damage.
(4) Battery leakage.

All implied warranties, if any, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, terminate one (1) year from the date of the original purchase.
The foregoing constitutes Etón entire obligation with respect to this product, and the original purchaser shall have no other remedy and no claim for incidental or consequential damages, losses, or expenses.
Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts or do not allow the exclusions or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation and exclusion may not apply to you.

INTRODUCTION
Nous vous remercions de votre achat du récepteur AM / FM / à ondes courtes FR200/FR200G – une radio de secours parfaite et une excellente radio à utiliser tous les jours. Sa conception unique lui permet d’être alimenté à partir de plusieurs sources : 1) à partir de la batterie rechargeable Ni-MH intégrée qui se charge avec la manivelle du générateur et un adaptateur CA (l’adaptateur CA est seulement compris avec le modèle FR200G) ; 2) à partir de 3 piles AA ; 3) à partir de l’adaptateur CA seul (l’adaptateur CA est seulement compris avec le modèle FR200G) ; 4) à partir de la manivelle du générateur seule, même si aucun bloc-piles n’est installé.

LES SOURCES D’ALIMENTATION
La bloc-piles rechargeable Ni-MH (nickel-métal-hydrure) est installé et totalement chargé à l’usine. Pour utiliser de récepteur sous alimentation CA, un adaptateur CA est nécessaire. Lorsque vous achetez un adaptateur CA, il doit satisfaire les spécifications suivantes :
Sortie de 4,5 volt en c.c. ; polarité négative ; capacité de courant de
80 à 100 milliampères ; diamètre externe du bout de la fiche de 3,4 millimètres, diamètre interieur de 1,3 millimètres.
Un adaptateur CA correct est compris avec le modèle FR200G.
Un adaptateur CA de 80 à 100 milliampères doit, comme indiqué ci-dessus, charger la radio en 8 heures environ, après quoi l’adaptateur peut être laissé branché dans la radio si vous le désirez, sans danger de surcharge de la pile.
REMARQUE IMPORTANTE:
Si vous utilisez un adaptateur CA
évalué à plus de 80 à 100 milliampères ou un adaptateur autre que celui qui est compris avec le FR200G, ne le laissez pas charger la batterie pendant plus de deux heures, et débranchez l’adaptateur
CA après avoir fini de charger. Si vous utilisez un tel adaptateur
CA pour alimenter la radio en continu, débranchez la batterie rechargeable interne.

ALIMENTATION EXTERNE ET CHARGEMENT
DE LA BATTERIE NI-MH
Un adaptateur CA (un adaptateur CA est seulement compris avec l e modèle FR200G) branché dans la prise de 4,5 V en c.c. à l’arrière du récepteur alimentera le récepteur et chargera le bloc-piles Ni-MH.
Pour faire fonctionner la radio, mettez le commutateur POWER
SELECTOR sur la position DYNAMO ADAPTATOR. Le bloc-piles Ni-MH se chargera pendant que le commutateur POWER SELECTOR est sur une position quelconque.

FONCTIONNEMENT SOUS LES PILES AA
Le FR200 est conçu pour être utilisé avec trois piles AA (non comprises).
Pour obtenir le temps d’utilisation le plus long possible, utilisez des piles alcalines. Installez les piles en enlevant le couvercle du compartiment des piles et en suivant les diagrammes de polarité de pile imprimés au dos du couvercle. Enlevez le couvercle en appuyant sur l’indentation étiquettée OPEN et en le tirant au même moment vers le fond du récepteur. Allumez le récepteur en mettant le commutateur POWER SELECTOR sur la position BATTERY.
REMARQUE:
si un adaptateur CA est utilisé, les piles AA seront immédiatement mises hors circuit.

Le bloc-piles Ni-MH peut également être chargé en tournant la manivelle de générateur selon les instructions ci-dessous :

1. Mettez le sélectionneur d’alimentation sur la position POWER OFF.
2. Tournez la manivelle du générateur avec vigueur, dans le sens des aiguilles d’une montre ou dans le sens inverse. Le voyant
DEL rouge de chargement s’allumera pendant le chargement.
REMARQUE:
Il peut être chargé pendant que la radio est utilisée, cependant il ne se chargera pas de manière aussi efficace, ce qui réduira le temps d’utilisation.
Si vous chargez manuellement le bloc-piles avec la manivelle du générateur, le temps d’utilisation du récepteur dépendra du nombre de tours de manivelle et de la durée de chaque tour. En moyenne,
60 à 90 secondes de tours vigoureux de manivelle permettront environ 40 à 60 minutes de temps d’utilisation sous volume bas, sans utilisation de la lampe. Si la lampe est allumée pendant que vous utilisez la radio, le temps d’utilisation sera fortement diminué.
L’utilisation de la lampe provoquera toujours une déchargement plus rapide de la batterie Ni-MH.

UTILISATION EN SITUATION D’URGENCE
Même si aucune source d’alimentation n’est disponible, y compris le bloc-piles Ni-MH, le récepteur et la lampe peuvent quand même
être utilisés en tournant la manivelle du générateur de manière continue. Mettez le commutateur POWER SELECTOR sur la position
DYNAMO ADAPTATOR.

COMMENT ALLUMER ET ÉTEINDRE LE FR200
Allumez-le en sélectionnant la source d’alimentation de votre choix de la manière indiquée ci-dessus, puis en mettant le commutateur
POWER SELECTOR sur la position DYMANO ADAPTOR ou BATTERY.
Éteignez-le en mettant le commutateur POWER SELECTOR sur la position POWER OFF.
COMMENT AJUSTER LE VOLUME
Tournez le bouton de commande VOLUME jusqu’à ce que vous entendiez le niveau de volume voulu.
COMMENT SYNTONISER LES STATIONS
Mettez le commutateur rotatif de bandes de fréquences sur la position
FM, AM, SW1 ou SW2. Syntonisez les station à l’aide du bouton
TUNING, en utilisant la commande FINE TUNING superposée si vous le voulez. Pour obtenir la meilleure réception FM et ondes courtes, déployez complètement l’antenne télescopique. La réception FM peut souvent être améliorée en faisant tourner l’antenne télescopique.
Pour la réception AM, il n’est pas nécessaire de déployer l’antenne télescopique car l’antenne AM est une antenne barre de ferrite qui est interne et directionnelle. Pour obtenir le meilleure réception AM, faites tourner la radio jusqu’à ce que vous obteniez la meilleure puissance de signal. Lisez la section suivante pour l’optimisation de la réception ondes courtes.
COMMENT OPTIMISER LA RÉCEPTION ONDES COURTES
Le conseils suivants vous permettront d’obtenir les meilleurs résultats possibles lorsque vous écoutez des émissions ondes courtes.
• La réception ondes courtes est la meilleure possible pendant le lever et le coucher du soleil, et la nuit.

INTRODUCTION
Vielen Dank, dass Sie sich für das FR200 / FR200G UKW/MW/KW -
Radio entschieden haben. Dieses Radio ist bestens für Notfälle geeignet und ist auch im täglichen Gebrauch außerordentlich nützlich.
Durch sein einzigartiges Design kann das Radio über verschiedene
Stromquellen angetrieben werden. 1) Über den eingebauten wiederaufladbaren Ni-MH -Akku, der durch die Dynamokurbel oder ein Netzteil aufgeladen werden kann (das Netzteil wird nur mit dem Modell
FR200G mitgeliefert); 2) Über 3 AA-Batterien; 3) Nur über das Netzteil
(das Netzteil wird nur mit dem Modell FR200G mitgeliefert); 4) Nur
über die Dynamo-Kurbel, selbst wenn kein Akku eingesetzt ist.

ANSCHLUSS AN STROMQUELLEN
Der wiederaufladbare Ni- MH (Nickel- Metallhydrid) -Akku wird vom
Hersteller eingesetzt und vollständig aufgeladen. Für den Gebrauch dieses Radios mit Wechselstrom ist ein Netzteil erforderlich. Beim
Kauf eines Netzteils muss auf die folgenden Spezifikationen geachtet werden:
Ausgabe von 4,5 Volt GS, negative Polarität; Kapazität von 80-100 mA; Außendurchmesser der Steckerspitze 3,5 mm, Innendurchmesser
1,3 mm.
Mit dem Modell FR200G wird ein geeignetes Netzteil mitgeliefert.
Ein Netzteil von 80 bis 100 mA (siehe oben), sollte das Radio in ungefähr 8 Stunden aufladen. Wenn erwünscht, kann das Netzteil danach eingesteckt bleiben, ohne dass die Batterien überladen werden.
WICHTIGER HINWEIS:
Wenn ein Netzteil mit mehr als 80 bis 100 mA verwendet wird, oder ein Netzteil, das nicht mit dem FR200G mitgeliefert wurde, den Akku nicht länger als zwei Stunden aufladen lassen und das Netzteil nach dem Aufladen herausziehen. Wenn ein derartiges Netzteil als kontinuierliche Stromquelle für das Radio verwendet wird, den Stecker des internen wiederaufladbaren Akku ziehen.

STROMZUFUHR VON AUSSEN UND LADEN
DER BATTERIEN
Durch das Einstecken eines Netzteils in die GS-Buchse für 4,5 V auf der Rückseite des Radios (ein Netzteil wird nur mit dem Modell
FG200G mitgeliefert) wird Strom für den Betrieb des Radios und zum
Aufladen des NI-MH -Akkus geliefert. Zum Einschalten des Radios den Schalter STROMZUFUHRWAHL in die Stellung DYNAMO / NETZTEIL bringen. Der Ni-MH -Akku wird in allen Stellungen des Schalters
STROMZUFUHRWAHL geladen.

BETRIIEB MIT AA -BATTERIEN
Das Radio kann mit drei AA -Batterien betrieben werden (nicht mitgeliefert). Um eine möglichst lange Spielzeit zu erreichen, sollten
Alkalibatterien verwendet werden. Die Abdeckung des Batteriefachs abnehmen und die Batterien einsetzen. Dabei den
Polaritätsdiagrammen folgen, die auf der Unterseite der Abdeckung abgebildet sind. Zum Abnehmen der Abdeckung des Batteriefachs beide Aussparungen mit der Bezeichnung ÖFFNEN drücken und die
Abdeckung in Richtung der Unterseite des Radis ziehen. Das Radio einschalten, indem der Schalter STROMZUFUHRWAHL auf die Stellung
BATTERIE gebracht wird.
HINWEIS:
Wenn ein Netzteil verwendet wird, werden die AA -
Batterien automatisch abgeschaltet.

Der Ni-MH -Akku kann auch durch das Drehen der Dynamokurbel geladen werden. Dazu den Anleitungen unten folgen:
1. Den Schalter zur Stromzufuhrwahl in die Stellung STROM AUS bringen.
2. Die Dynamo-Kurbel kräftig entweder im oder gegen den
Uhrzeigersinn drehen. Während des Aufladens leuchtet die rote
Ladungs-LED.
HINWEIS:
Das Aufladen kann erfolgen, während das Radio in Betrieb ist. Die Wirksamkeit ist dann jedoch geringer und die Spielzeit verkürzt sich daher.
Beim Aufladen über den Dynamo hängt die Betriebszeit von der
Anzahl und der Geschwindigkeit der Drehungen ab. Im Durchschnitt bewirkt ein kräftiges Drehen für 60 bis 90 Sekunden eine Spielzeit des Radios für 40 bis 60 Minuten bei geringer Lautstärke, wenn das
Licht nicht eingeschaltet ist. Wenn das Licht eingeschaltet ist, während das Radio spielt, wird die Spielzeit bedeutend herabgesetzt. Das Licht bewirkt immer, dass sich der Ni-MH -Akku schneller entlädt.

EINSATZ IN NOTFÄLLEN
Selbst, wenn keine Stromquelle zur Verfügung steht, auch nicht der
Ni-MH -Akku, können das Radio und das Licht trotzdem betrieben werden, wenn die Dynamo-Kurbel ständig gedreht wird. Den Schalter
STROMZUFUHRWAHL in die Stellung DYNAMO / NETZTEIL bringen.

Wie oben beschrieben eine Stromquelle wählen und dann den
Schalter STROMZUFUHRWAHL in die Stellung DYNAMO / NETZTEIL oder BATTERIE bringen. Dadurch wird das Radio eingeschaltet.
Das Radio wird ausschaltet, indem der Schalter STROMZUFUHRWAHL auf die Stellung STROM AUS gebracht wird.
REGELUNG DER LAUTSTÄRKE
Den Knopf LAUTSTÄRKE drehen, bis die erwünschte Lautstärke erreicht ist.
EINSTELLEN VON SENDERN
Den Drehknopf zur Bandwahl in die Stellung UKW, MW, KW 1 oder
KW 2 bringen. Sender können mit dem Knopf SENDER gefunden werden, wobei der aufgelagerte Knopf zur Feineinstellung nach Bedarf eingesetzt werden kann. Zum besten Empfang von UKW und KW die teleskopische Antenne vollständig ausziehen. Der UKW-Empfang kann oft durch Drehen der teleskopischen Antenne verbessert werden. Zum
MW-Empfang ist es nicht notwendig, die teleskopische Antenne auszuziehen, da hierfür eine interne Ferrit- Richtantenne verwendet wird. Für besten MW-Empfangs das Radio drehen, bis die beste
Signalstärke erreicht ist. Hinweise zur Verbesserung des
Kurzwellenempfangs befinden sich im nächsten Abschnitt.
OPTIMIERUNG DES KURZWELLENEMPFANGS
Wenn Sie die folgenden Informationen berücksichtigen, werden Sie beste Ergebnisse für den Kurzwellenempfang haben.
• Der Kurzwellenempfang ist gegen Sonnenauf- und -untergang und während der Nacht am besten. Der Empfang der Kurzwelle während der Nacht ist normalerweise besser als während des Tages. Während des Tages sind gewöhnlich Frequenzen über 13 mHz am besten

• In der Nacht sind gewöhnlich Frequenzen unter 13 mHz am besten.
Gegen Sonnenuntergang und Sonnenaufgang kann der ganze
Kurzwellenbereich gut sein.
• Der Kurzwellenempfang verbessert sich wesentlich, wenn man sich sehr nahe an ein Fenster stellt. Der Kurzwellenempfang verbessert sich auch, wenn man das Radio in den Händen hält.
BEDIENUNG DES NOTLICHTS
Die TASCHENLAMPE auf die Stellung EIN bringen.
KOPFHÖRERBUCHSE
Einen Kopfhörer Ihrer Wahl (Kopfhörer werden nur mit dem Modell
FR200G mitgeliefert) einstecken, die einen Mono- oder Stereo-Stecker von 1/8-Zoll haben. Beim Gebrauch von Kopfhörern wird der eingebaute Lautsprecher automatisch abgeschaltet. Anmerkung: Mit
Stereo-Kopfhörern wird der Klang auf beide Seiten übertragen, auch wenn UKW nicht in Stereo empfangen wird.

1. Nicht fallen lassen oder in die Nähe von Feuer bringen.
2. Zum Reinigen des Gehäuses keine Scheuermittel verwenden.
Mit einem weichen Tuch und einer Lösung aus mildem
Reinigungsmittel und Wasser abwischen.
3. Das Gerät nicht in der Nähe von Hitzequellen aufstellen und keinem direkten Sonnenlicht, übermäßigem Staub oder mechanischen Stößen aussetzen.

4. Keine alten Batterien zusammen mit neuen Batterien oder
Batterien verschiedener Marken oder Typen gleichzeitig verwenden.
Wenn das Radio für längere Zeit nicht gebraucht wird, immer die
Batterien entnehmen. Dadurch wird verhindert, dass die Batterien innerhalb des Batteriefachs auslaufen.

Sie können den Etón technischen kundendienst für weitere informationen oder hilfe durch erreichen uns an berühren:
Vor dem Einschicken des Geräts eine Rückgabegenehmigung anfordern. Wenn Sie Ihr Gerät zur Wartung einschicken möchten, den
Empfänger sorgfältig im Originalkarton oder einen anderen geeigneten Behälter verpacken. Den Absender deutlich auf dem
Verpackungskarton und einem beigelegten Begleitschreiben angeben.
In dem Schreiben sollte die Art der notwendigen Wartung, die
Symptome oder die Probleme erwähnt werden. Auch eine
Telefonnummer angeben, unter der Sie tagsüber zu erreichen sind, sowie eine Kopie des Kaufnachweises. Der Empfänger wird unter den
Bedingungen der eingeschränkten Garantie von Etón gewartet und an
Sie zurückgeschickt.

Etón garantiert dem ursprünglichen Käufer, dass dieses Produkt frei von Material- oder Verarbeitungsmängeln ist. Diese Garantie gilt für ein Jahr ab Kaufdatum.
Während der Garantieperiode stellt Etón oder eine von Etón autorisierte Servicestelle kostenlos Teile und Arbeitszeit bereit, die zur
Behebung von Material- und Verarbeitungsmängeln notwendig sind.
Etón kann ein schadhaftes Gerät nach eigenem Ermessen ersetzen.
(1) Füllen Sie die Garantie-Registrierungskarte innerhalb von zehn
(10) Tagen nach Kauf aus.
(2) Rufen Sie Etón oder die nächste Servicestelle sobald wie möglich an, wenn Sie einen Mangel feststellen. Halten Sie Folgendes bereit:
(a) Modell und Seriennummer.
(b) Namen des Händlers und das ungefähre Kaufdatum.
(c) Eine genaue Beschreibung des Problems, einschließlich Details
über die elektrischen Verbindungen zu anderen Geräten und eine
Liste dieser Geräte.
(3) Etón stellt eine Rückgabegenehmigungsnummer aus und teilt die Adresse mit, an die das Gerät geschickt werden kann. Das
Gerät im Originalkarton oder einem anderen geeigneten Behälter schicken. Eine volle Versicherung abschließen und das Porto im
Voraus bezahlen.
Eine sachgemäße Wartung, Reparatur und der richtige Gebrauch sind wichtig, damit das Gerät eine entsprechende Leistung bringen kann.
Lesen Sie daher die Gebrauchsanleitung sorgfältig. Diese Garantie gilt für keine Schäden, die nach Ermessen von Etón auf folgende Gründe zurückzuführen sind:

(3) Versehentliche oder mutwillige Beschädigung.
(4) Auslaufende Batterien.
Alle stillschweigenden Garantien, falls solche bestehen, einschließlich
Garantien der Marktfähigkeit und der Eignung für einen bestimmten
Zweck, laufen ein (1) Jahr nach dem ursprünglichen Kaufdatum aus.
Das oben Erwähnte stellt die vollständige Verpflichtung von Etón bezüglich dieses Produkts dar. Der ursprüngliche Käufer ist zu keiner anderen Behebung berechtigt und hat keinen Anspruch für zufällige oder Folgeschäden, Verluste oder Ausgaben. In manchen Staaten ist eine Beschränkung der Länge stillschweigender Garantien oder der
Ausschluss beiläufig entstandener bzw. Folgeschäden nicht zulässig.
Die obige Beschränkung trifft also für Sie eventuell nicht zu.
Diese Garantie erkennt Ihnen bestimmte gesetzliche Rechte zu.

INTRODUCCIÓN
Muchas gracias por comprar el radio de AM/FM y onda corta modelo FR200/FR200G - un radio perfecto para uso durante emergencias y un gran radio para uso diario. Su diseño especial permite que el radio funcione con varias fuentes de energía diferentes:
1) baterías recargables de Ni-MH que son recargadas mediante la operación manual del dínamo o a través de un adaptador de CA
(Corriente Alterna) (este adaptador sólo se incluye con el modelo
FR200G); 2) tres baterías tamaño AA; 3) directamente del adaptador de CA (este adaptador sólo se incluye con el modelo FR200G);
4) operación manual del dínamo, aún si no está instalado el paquete de baterías recargables.
Por favor, lea cuidadosamente este MANUAL DE OPERACIÓN para tomar ventaja de las muchas funciones y excelente recepción de las estaciones locales de AM y FM, al igual que de las radiodifusiones internacionales de onda corta originadas en países de todo el mundo.

CARACTERÍSTICAS PRINCIPALES
El radio de AM/FM y onda corta, modelo FR200/FR200G, es un radio completamente portátil con muchas funciones y características.
• Recibe estaciones de AM, FM y radiodifusiones internacionales de onda corta.
• Recibe una gama continua de frecuencias de onda corta, desde 3.3
hasta 22 megahercios, que incluye las bandas de 13, 16, 19, 22,
25, 31, 41, 49, 60, 75 y 90 metros.
• Incorpora una perilla de sintonización fina, superimpuesta sobre la perilla principal de control de sintonización.

CONEXIÓN DE LA ENERGÍA ELÉCTRICA
El paquete de baterías recargables de Ni-MH (níquel-hidruro de metal) es instalado y completamente cargado en la fábrica. Para usar este radio con energía de corriente alterna, se necesita un adaptador de CA. Cuando compre un adaptador de CA, asegúrese de que tiene las especificaciones siguientes:
Salida de 4.5 voltios CD; polaridad negativa; capacidad de corriente de 80 a 100 miliamperios; diámetro externo del enchufe de 3.4 mm y diámetro interno de 1.3 mm.
Un adaptador apropiado de CA se incluye con el modelo FR200G.
El adaptador de CA de 80 a 100 miliamperios, especificado arriba, deberá cargar las baterías del radio en aproximadamente 8 horas, después de lo cual, el adaptador puede seguir enchufado y no sobrecargará las baterías.
NOTA IMPORTANTE: Si usa un adaptador con una capacidad de corriente mayor de 80 a 100 miliamperios, o uno diferente del que se incluye con el modelo FR200G, no permita que cargue la batería durante más de dos horas y siempre desenchufe el adaptador después de cargar la batería. Si usa un adaptador de CA de esa capacidad para alimentar el radio continuamente, desconecte la batería interna recargable.

ENERGÍA EXTERNA / BATERÍA RECARGABLE
El enchufar un adaptador de CA (este adaptador sólo se incluye con el modelo FR200G) en el conector de 4.5 voltios CD, situado en la parte posterior del radio, proporcionará la energía necesaria para operar el radio y cargar el paquete de baterías de Ni-MH. Para encender el radio, coloque el selector "POWER SELECTOR" en la posición "DYNAMO ADAPTOR". El paquete de baterías (níquelhidruro de metal) se cargará con el selector "POWER SELECTOR" en cualquiera de sus posiciones.

OPERACIÓN CON BATERÍAS "AA"
Este radio ha sido diseñado para operar con tres baterías de tamaño
"AA" (no suministradas). Se deben usar baterías alcalinas para una vida más larga. Instale las baterías quitando la cubierta del compartimiento de baterías y observando los diagramas de polaridad de batería impresos en la parte inferior de la cubierta. Quite la cubierta haciendo presión sobre la depresión con la palabra "OPEN" (Abrir) y tirando simultáneamente de la cubierta hacia abajo y hacia la parte inferior del radio. Encienda el radio colocando el selector "POWER
SELECTOR" en la posición "BATTERY" (Batería).
NOTA: Si se usa un adaptador de CA, las baterías "AA" son desconectadas automáticamente.

OPERACIÓN CON DÍNAMO
El paquete de batería de Ni-MH también se puede cargar girando la manivela del dínamo y siguiendo las instrucciones que se indican abajo:
1. Coloque el selector de energía en la posición "POWER OFF".
2. Gire la manivela del dínamo vigorosamente, ya sea hacia la izquierda o hacia la derecha. La luz indicadora LED roja se encenderá durante la operación de carga.
NOTA: Se puede cargar también mientras el radio está operando, sin embargo, la carga no será tan eficaz y el tiempo de funcionamiento del radio será reducido.
Con la carga obtenida del dínamo, el tiempo de operación del radio dependerá del número de vueltas de la manivela y del tiempo usado para cada vuelta. En general, una rotación vigorosa de 60 a 90 segundos de la manivela producirá aproximadamente de 40 a 60 segundos de operación del radio a bajo volumen y sin usar la linterna. Si la linterna permanece encendida mientras se oye el radio, el tiempo de funcionamiento se reducirá dramáticamente. El uso de la luz siempre causará que la descarga de la batería de Ni-MH sea mucho más rápida.

OPERACIÓN DURANTE UNA EMERGENCIA
Aún si no existe una fuente de energía disponible, incluyendo el paquete de baterías Ni-MH, el radio y la luz se pueden seguir operando girando continuamente la manivela del dínamo. Coloque el selector "POWER SELECTOR" en la posición "DYNAMO ADAPTOR".

FORMA DE ENCENDER Y APAGAR EL RADIO
Encienda el radio seleccionando una fuente de energía, como se describió arriba, y entonces colocando el selector "POWER SELEC-
TOR" en la posición "DYNAMO ADAPTOR" o "BATTERY".
Apague el radio colocando el selector "POWER SELECTOR" en la posición "POWER OFF".
AJUSTE DEL VOLUMEN
Gire la perilla de control de volumen "VOLUME" hasta escuchar el nivel de volumen de sonido deseado.
SINTONIZACIÓN DE ESTACIONES
Coloque el selector rotatorio en la posición FM, AM, SW1 o SW2.
Sintonice estaciones con la perilla "TUNING" (Sintonización), usando el control superimpuesto "FINE TUNING" como sea necesario. Para la mejor recepción de FM y de onda corta, extienda completamente la antena telescópica. La recepción de FM se puede mejorar algunas veces girando la antena telescópica. Para la recepción de AM, la antena telescópica no necesita ser extendida, porque la antena de
AM es una antena interna, direccional, que usa una barra de ferrita.
Para la mejor recepción de AM, gire el radio hasta lograr la máxima intensidad de señal. Vea la sección siguiente acerca de la forma de obtener la recepción óptima de onda corta.

FORMA DE MEJORAR LA RECEPCIÓN DE ONDA CORTA
La información siguiente le ayudará a obtener los mejores resultados con la recepción de onda corta.
• La recepción de onda corta es mejor alrededor de la salida y puesta del sol y durante la noche.
• La recepción de onda corta durante la noche es generalmente superior que durante el día.
• Durante el día, las frecuencias mayores de 13 MHz son generalmente mejores.
• Durante la noche, las frecuencias menores de 13 MHz son generalmente mejores.
• Durante la salida y la puesta del sol, todas las frecuencias de onda corta pueden ser buenas.
• Acercarse a una ventana mejora la recepción de onda corta.
• El sostener el radio con la mano mejora la recepción de onda corta.
USO DE LA LUZ DE EMERGENCIA
Coloque el interruptor "FLASHLIGHT" en la posición "ON".
USO DEL CONECTOR PARA AUDÍFONOS
Enchufe un par de audífonos (los audífonos sólo se incluyen con el modelo FR200G) que tengan un enchufe monofónico o estereofónico de 1/8 de pulgada. Cuando use audífonos, el altoparlante se desconectará automáticamente. Note que los audífonos estereofónicos también funcionan y el sonido se escucha por ambos lados, aunque las estaciones de FM no son recibidas en estéreo.

PRECAUCIONES
1. No deje caer el radio y manténgalo fuera del fuego.
2. No use polvos abrasivos para limpiar el gabinete. Limpie el radio con un paño suave, humedecido con una solución de un jabón suave con agua.
3. No deje la unidad cerca de las fuentes de calor ni en un lugar sujeto a la luz directa del sol, polvo excesivo o choques mecánicos.
4. No use baterías nuevas y viejas juntas, ni tipos o marcas diferentes de baterías juntos.
5. Siempre saque las baterías del radio cuando no lo vaya a usar durante un largo tiempo. Esto evitará que las baterías tengan un escape de material corrosivo dentro del compartimiento.

INFORMACIÓN DE SERVICIO
Puede comunicarse con el departamento de servicio de Etón para obtener más información:
Escribanos por una Autorización de Devolución antes de enviar su unidad. Si desea retornar su unidad para obtener servicio, empaque el receptor cuidadosamente usando la caja original u otra caja apropiada. Escriba su dirección de retorno claramente sobre la caja e incluya una carta describiendo el servicio requerido, los síntomas o problemas. También incluya su número de teléfono durante el día y una copia de su recibo de compra. El radio recibirá servicio bajo los términos de la garantía limitada de Etón y le será devuelto.

GARANTÍA LIMITADA DE UN AÑO
Etón le garantiza al comprador original que este producto está libre de defectos en el material y mano de obra durante un período de un año a partir de la fecha de la compra original.
Durante el período de garantía, Etón o un centro autorizado de servicio de Etón suministrará, sin costo alguno, las piezas y mano de obra necesaria para corregir los defectos en el material o mano de obra. A su opción, Etón podrá cambiar una unidad defectuosa.
1. Llene y envíe la tarjeta de registración de garantía dentro de diez
(10) días de la compra.
2. Llame a Etón o al centro autorizado de servicio más cercano tan pronto sea posible, después de descubrir un posible defecto en el radio. Tenga a mano:
(a) el número de modelo y de serie.
(b) el nombre del vendedor y la fecha aproximada de compra.
(c) una descripción detallada del problema, incluyendo detalles sobre la conexión eléctrica, el equipo asociado usado y una lista de ese equipo.
3. Etón le dará un número de Autorización de Devolución, y la dirección a donde debe enviar la unidad para que sea reparada.
Envíe la unidad en su caja original o en una caja equivalente, con un seguro completo que cubra su valor y con el costo de envío prepagado.

El mantenimiento, reparación y uso correcto son importantes para obtener un buen rendimiento de este producto. Por lo tanto, lea cuidadosamente el Manual de Instrucciones. Esta garantía no se aplica a cualquier defecto que Etón determine que es debido a:

CARATTERISTICHE
La radio FR200/FR200G AM/FM/onde corte è completamente portatile e presenta numerosi caratteristiche e funzioni:
• Riceve trasmissioni in banda AM, FM e ad onde corte.
• Ha un'ampiezza continua di banda ad onde corte da 3,2 a 22 megahertz, comprendente le bande da 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, 31, 41,

DI ALIMENTAZIONE
Il gruppo della batteria ricaricabile al Ni-MH viene installato carico in fabbrica. Per usare questa radio alimentandola in rete CA, è necessario disporre di un trasformatore CA. Al momento di acquistare tale trasformatore, verificare che si conformi alle seguenti specifiche:
Uscita di 4,5 volt CC; polarità negativa; 80-100 milliampere di corrente; spina con diametro esterno di 3,5 millimetri e diametro interno di 1,2 millimetri.
Il trasformatore CA viene fornito in dotazione assieme al modello
FR200G.
Un trasformatore da 80-100 milliampere del tipo succitato dovrebbe carica la batteria della radio in circa 8 ore. Trascorso tale periodo, è possibile lasciare il trasformatore collegato in rete CA, visto che la batteria non si sovraccarica
N.B. Se si usa un trasformatore CA di capacità superiore ad 80-100 milliampere, oppure un trasformatore diverso da quello fornito assieme alla FR200G, non caricare l'unità per più di due ore e scollegare il trasformatore dalla rete dopo l'uso. Se si impiega un trasformatore CA di questo tipo per alimentare continuamente la radio, scollegare la batteria interna ricaricabile.

ALIMENTAZIONE ESTERNA/BATTERIA
RICARICABILE
Collegando la spina di un trasformatore CA (fornito solo assieme al modello FR200G) nella presa da 4,5 V CC sul retro della radio si alimenta la radio e si ricarica la batteria al Ni-MH. Per ascoltare la radio, impostare il SELETTORE DELL'ALIMENTAZIONE sulla posizione
DYNAMO ADAPTOR [dinamo-trasformatore]. Il gruppo della batteria al Ni-MH passa sotto carica indipendentemente dalla posizione del

ALIMENTAZIONE A BATTERIE AA
Questa radio è stata progettata per essere alimentata da tre batterie ministilo AA (non fornite). Usare batterie alcaline per ottimizzare la durata d'ascolto. Installare le batterie rimuovendo lo sportello dell'apposito scompartimento e rispettando la polarità indicata dallo schema riportato sul lato interno dello sportello. Rimuovere lo sportello premendo sulla dicitura OPEN [aperto] e spingendolo verso il basso in direzione del fondo della radio. Accendere la radio impostando il
SELETTORE DELL'ALIMENTAZIONE sulla posizione BATTERY [batteria].
NOTA: Quando si usa un trasformatore CA, le batterie AA vengono disinserite automaticamente.

ALIMENTAZIONE TRAMITE DINAMO
Il gruppo della batteria al Ni-MH può essere caricato anche azionando la dinamo a manovella come segue:
1. Impostare il SELETTORE DELL'ALIMENTAZIONE sulla posizionePOWER OFF [spenta].
2. Girare vigorosamente la manovella della dinamo in senso orario o antiorario. Il LED rosso di carica della batteria rimane illuminato durante l'operazione.
NOTA: La batteria può essere caricata a manovella anche durante l'ascolto della radio, ma in modo meno efficiente e talvolta incompleto.
Caricando la batteria con la dinamo a manovella, la durata di funzionamento della radio dipende dal numero di giri impressi alla manovella e dalla velocità di rotazione. In media, 60-90 secondi di rotazione vigorosa consentono circa 40-60 minuti d'ascolto a basso volume, purché non si accenda la torcia. Se la torcia rimane accesa mentre si ascolta la radio, la durata d'ascolto viene ridotta in modo drastico. L'accensione della torcia causa sempre la scarica accelerata della batteria al Ni-MH.

FUNZIONAMENTO D'EMERGENZA
Anche in assenza di altre fonti di alimentazione, compresa l'esclusione del gruppo della batteria al Ni-MH, la radio e la torcia possono essere comunque fatte funzionare facendo ruotare di continuo la manovella della dinamo. Impostare il SELETTORE DELL'ALIMEN-
TAZIONE sulla posizione DYNAMO ADAPTOR.

ACCENSIONE E SPEGNIMENTO
Accendere la radio selezionando la fonte di alimentazione desiderata nel modo suindicato e poi impostando il SELETTORE DELL'ALIMEN-
TAZIONE sulla posizione DYNAMO ADAPTOR o BATTERY.
Spegnerla facendo scattare il SELETTORE DELL'ALIMENTAZIONE nella posizione POWER OFF.
REGOLAZIONE DEL VOLUME
Far ruotare la manopola del VOLUME finché non si ottiene il livello di ascolto desiderato.
SINTONIA
Impostare il selettore di banda sulla posizione FM, AM, SW1 o SW2.
Sintonizzarsi sulle stazioni per mezzo della manopola della SINTONIA, girando opportunamente la manopola sovrapposta della SINTONIA
FINE. Per massimizzare la ricezione FM e ad onde corte, estendere completamente l'antenna telescopica. La ricezione FM spesso migliora ruotando opportunamente l'antenna. Nel caso della ricezione AM, non è necessario estendere l'antenna telescopica, visto che la relativa antenna direzionale in ferrite è interna. Per conseguire una ricezione
AM ottimale, far ruotare la radio finché non si ottiene il segnale più forte. La prossima seziona esamina la ricezione ad onde corte.

OTTIMIZZAZIONE DELLA RICEZIONE AD ONDE CORTE
Le seguenti indicazioni permettono di conseguire i migliori risultati di ascolto ad onde corte.
• La ricezione migliore dei broadcast ad onde corte si ottiene all'alba, al tramonto e di notte.
• Di norma la ricezione notturna è migliore di quella diurna.
• Durante il giorno, le migliori frequenze sono spesso quelle sopra i 13 MHz.
• Di notte , sono migliori quelle sotto i 13 MHz.
• All'alba ed al tramonto, è possibile ricevere bene l'intera gamma delle frequenze ad onde corte.
• Per migliorare la ricezione bisogna spostare la radio il più vicino possibile ad una finestra.
• La ricezione viene ulteriormente migliorata tenendo la radio in mano.
USO DELLA LUCE D'EMERGENZA
Impostare l'interruttore della torcia FLASHLIGHT sulla posizione ON.
USO DELLA SPINA JACK DELLE CUFFIE
Le cuffie (fornite solo con il modello FR200G) richiedono una spina mono o stereo da 1/8 di pollice (3,5 mm). Il collegamento delle cuffie disattiva automaticamente il diffusore incorporato. Le cuffie stereo funzionano emettendo suoni su entrambi i canali anche quando la trasmissione FM non è stereofonica.

PRECAUZIONI
1. Non lasciar cadere la radio e tenerla lontana dal fuoco.
2. Non usare polveri abrasive per pulire la superficie esterna.
Strofinare la radio con un panno morbido inumidito in una soluzione di acqua e sapone non abrasivo.
3. Non lasciare l'unità in prossimità di una fonte di calore o esposta alla luce solare diretta, a polvere eccessiva o urti meccanici.
4. Non usare assieme batterie vecchie e nuove, né di marche o tipi differenti.
5. Estrarre sempre le batterie dalla radio quando si prevede di non usarla per periodi prolungati. Le batterie inutilizzate possono perdere acido all'interno dello scompartimento.

INFORMAZIONI SUL SERVIZIO
E' possibile mettersi in contatto con il Service Department della Etón per ottenere ulteriori informazioni:
Richiedere una autorizzazione alla resa prima di spedire l'unità. Ai fini della spedizione in ditta dell'unità per farla riparare, imballare con cura il ricevitore usando la scatola originale a un altro contenitore adatto. Scrivere in modo leggibile il proprio indirizzo sulla scatola di spedizione o in una lettera allegata, descrivendo l'intervento richiesto, i sintomi o i problemi. Inoltre, indicare il proprio numero di telefono diurno ed allegare una copia della prova di acquisto. Il ricevitore verrà riparato in conformità alle condizioni della garanzia limitata Etón e rispedito al mittente.

GARANZIA LIMITATA DI UN ANNO
La Etón garantisce all'acquirente originale che questo prodotto è privo di difetti di materiali o di lavorazione per un periodo di un anno a decorrere dalla data di acquisto originale.
Durante il periodo di garanzia, la Etón o un centro autorizzato di servizio Etón fornirà a titolo gratuito i pezzi e la manodopera necessari per ovviare ai difetti di materiali o di lavorazione. La Etón può, a proprio parere insindacabile, sostituire una unità difettosa con una nuova.
1. Compilare e spedire la scheda di registrazione della garanzia entro dieci (10) giorni dalla data di acquisto.
2. Una volta scoperto un possibile difetto, telefonare quanto prima alla Etón o al centro autorizzato di servizio più vicino. Indicare: a. il modello ed il numero di serie.
b. l'identità del venditore e la data approssimata d'acquisto.
c. una descrizione particolareggiata del problema, compresi i det tagli dei collegamenti elettrici con le associate attrezzature e l'e lenco di tali attrezzature.
3. La Etón indicherà il numero di autorizzazione alla resa e l'indirizzo a cui recapitare l'unità. Spedire l'unità nel contenitore originale o in un suo equivalente, assicurata ed a carico del mittente.
GARANZIA LIMITATA DI UN ANNO

Per garantire il rendimento ottimale di questo prodotto è importante che sia sottoposto a manutenzione, riparato ed usato in modo appropriato. Di conseguenza, leggere attentamente il manuale operativo.
Questo garanzia non si applica ad alcun difetto che la Etón determini prodotto da:
1. Erronea manutenzione o riparazione, compresa l'installazione di parti o accessori difformi quanto a qualità o specifiche dai pezzi originali.
2. Uso erroneo, abuso, incuria o installazione errata.
3. Danni accidentali o intenzionali.
4. Perdita dalle batterie.
Tutte le eventuali garanzie implicite, comprese quelle di commerciabilità e di idoneità ad uno scopo particolare, scadono dopo un (1) anno dalla data di acquisto originale.
Quanto esposto sopra costituisce l'intera obbligazione della Etón relativa a questo prodotto e l'acquirente originale non ha altro ricorso né diritto a rivendicazioni per danni accessori o emergenti, perdite o spesa alcuna. Alcuni stati non consentono di limitare la durata di una garanzia implicita o le esclusioni o limitazioni dei danni accessori o emergenti, pertanto i limiti esposti sopra possono non essere sempre applicabili. Questa garanzia attribuisce all'acquirente specifici diritti.
L'acquirente può godere di altri diritti che variano da stato a stato.
