INTRODUCTION

Congratulations on purchasing a Gemini CD-2000X Dual CD Player.

This state of the art professional CD player is backed by a three year warranty, excluding lasers. One year warranty on CD lasers. Prior to use, we suggest that you carefully read all the instructions.

CAUTIONS

Do not use this CD Player at temperatures below 41°F/5°C or higher than 95°F/35°C.

The apparatus should not be exposed to dripping or splashing and no objects filled with liquids such as vases should be placed on the apparatus.

Place the unit in a clean and dry location.

Do not place the unit in an unstable location.

When disconnecting the power cord from an AC outlet, always grasp it by the plug. Never pull the power cord.

To prevent electric shock, do not remove the cover or the bottom screws. There are no user serviceable parts inside. Please refer servicing to a qualified technician.

Do not use chemical solvents to clean the unit.

Keep the laser pickup clean by keeping the drawer closed.

Keep this manual in a safe place for future reference.

SAFETY CERTIFICATIONS

FUNCTION DESCRIPTIONS

ANTI-SHOCK BUFFER MEMORY: With 12 SECONDS OF ANTI-SHOCK

BUFFER MEMORY, each side of the CD player stores 6 seconds of future play to ensure that any harsh movement or bumping of the unit will not interrupt play and play will continue smoothly.

POWER: After making sure that the VOLTAGE SELECTOR switch (30), found on the rear panel, is properly set, plug the unit in and press the

POWER button (21). The unit will turn on. Pushing the POWER button

(21) a second time will turn the unit off.

DISC TRAY: The DISC TRAY (20) is where the CD is held during loading, unloading and playback. Pressing the disc tray OPEN/CLOSE BUTTON

(27), will open or close the tray. The DISC TRAY (20) holds both 12 cm and 8 cm CDs. Please note, if the CD-2000X is in the play mode, the tray will not open.

OPEN/CLOSE BUTTON: Press the OPEN/CLOSE BUTTON (27) to load or remove a CD from the DISC TRAY (20).

DISPLAY: The DISPLAY (5) shows the track number, pitch value, singleauto cue, continue (for continuous play), and 3 different time displays.

These time displays are time elapsed on the track, time remaining on the disc and time remaining on the track. Time is measured in minutes, seconds and frames. It also shows the beats-per-minute of the track.

THE BPM/PITCH BUTTON (37) allows you to select what you would like displayed, either the PITCH PERCENTAGE or the BPM.

PLAYBACK DISPLAY: The PLAYBACK DISPLAY (6) displays the time remaining to play and flashes slowly when the track has 30 seconds left. The PLAYBACK DISPLAY (6) flashes quickly when the track has

15 seconds left.

PLAY/PAUSE

: Each press of the PLAY/PAUSE BUTTON (17) causes the operation to change from play to pause or from pause back to play.

TRACK SKIP

: The TRACK SKIP BUTTONS (13) let you select the track to play.

IMPORTANT NOTE

Since the CD-2000X is a dual CD player, most of the functions and controls are duplicated on both sides of the CD player. To eliminate confusion and to make the drawings easier to understand, we will only number the right side functions and controls. The only controls that are not duplicated are the ROBO START (1), POWER BUTTON (21) and the

VOLTAGE SELECTOR SWITCH (30).

SEARCH BUTTONS

: The SEARCH BUTTONS (28) are used to move forward or reverse while in play or pause mode. See the CUE

INSTRUCTIONS section for more information.

JOG WHEEL: The JOG WHEEL (9) has various functions. Use the JOG

WHEEL (9) to make fine adjustments in pause mode. Use the JOG

WHEEL (9) to bend the pitch for precise synchronization in play mode, for scratching, and adjustments to cue and effects parameters.

LINE VOLTAGE SELECTION

Model CD-2000X is a dual voltage unit. It will operate at 115 or 230 volts.

To set the proper voltage follow these steps:

1. Place the head of a screw driver in the center of the VOLTAGE

SELECTOR SWITCH (30) found on the rear panel.

2. Slide the switch left for 115 volts or push the switch right for 230 volts.

3. Do not force or twist the switch. Excessive force may cause damage. If the switch does not move smoothly, contact a qualified technician

.

STOP

: The STOP BUTTON (4) will end the playing of the CD as well as clear sampler.

TIME: The TIME BUTTON (2) switches the time display between the three available choices listed under DISPLAY.

FLY CUE: The FLY CUE (10A) function lets you set cues on the fly with one press of a button. With the unit in the play mode (play/pause LED glows green), press FLY CUE (10A) at the point where you want the cue point to be (the unit will continue to play). The cue point is now memorized. Press the CUE BUTTON (16) to return to the memorized cue point. Push the PLAY/PAUSE BUTTON (17), and the unit will instantly play from the spot selected.

CONNECTIONS

1. Using the included cables, plug one end into the REMOTE CONTROL connector (31) on side 2 and the other end into the MAIN UNIT connector (32) also on side 2. Do the same for side 1.

CUE: With the unit in the play mode (play/pause LED glows green), and after the cue point has been memorized, pressing the CUE BUTTON

(16) will cause the CD player to enter the pause mode (play/pause LED blinks green) at the memorized cue point (the cue LED glows red).

Holding down the CUE BUTTON changes the cue function to PREVIEW

(allowing you to hear the music play at whatever tempo you adjusted to by holding the cue button down). Releasing the CUE BUTTON returns you to the preset cue point.

**IMPORTANT NOTE: YOU MUST CONNECT SIDE 1 ON THE REMOTE

CONTROL TO SIDE 1 ON THE MAIN UNIT AND SIDE 2 ON THE

REMOTE CONTROL TO SIDE 2 ON THE MAIN UNIT. IF YOU CROSS

THEM (for example the Remote Control on Side 1 to the Main Unit on Side 2) THE CD-2000X WILL NOT WORK.

SEAMLESS LOOP: After a cue point is memorized, pressing the CUE B/

EXIT BUTTON (11) in play mode, repeats the section between the cue point and the point where the CUE B/EXIT BUTTON (11) was pressed.

Press the CUE B/EXIT BUTTON (11) again or pause play to exit the repeating play.

2. Plug one end of a set of RCA connectors into each of the LINE OUTPUT

JACKS (33).

3. Plug the other end of the RCA connectors into any available line level input jacks on your mixer. If you are playing the CD-2000X through a receiver, you can plug the RCA connectors into the CD or AUX INPUT

JACKS on your receiver. If there are no CD or AUX INPUTS, use any line level (not phono) inputs.

SINGLE-AUTO CUE/CONTINUOUS: Pressing the SINGLE-AUTO CUE/

CONTINUOUS BUTTON (3) activates the AUTO CUE FUNCTION. The

AUTO CUE FUNCTION causes the unit to pause at the beginning of music of the following track and allows you to start play immediately from the start of music without any blank space (which exists at the

beginning of every track). Pressing the SINGLE-AUTO CUE/CONTINU-

OUS BUTTON (3) a second time activates the CONTINUOUS function causing the unit to play continuously (after the last track, the unit will return to the first track of the disc and continue to play). Pressing the

SINGLE-AUTO CUE/CONTINUOUS BUTTON (3) a third time deactivates the CONTINUOUS function.

ROBO START: Press the ROBO START BUTTON (1) to activate ROBO

START function (the button will blink). Use ROBO START in SINGLE-

AUTO CUE MODE to alternate play between the two sides of the CD player (one track from one side, then one track from the other side).

See the Robo Start Instructions section for further instructions.

4%, 12% and 24% BUTTONS: Use the 4%, 12% and 24% BUTTONS (14) to assign the percent the pitch control slide will have. The 4% BUTTON will assign +/-4% to the pitch control slide. The 12% BUTTON will assign

+/-12% to the pitch control slide. The 24% BUTTON will assign +/-24% to the pitch control slide. The PITCH (18) must be ON for the 4%, 12% and 24% BUTTONS (14) to work.

PITCH: Pushing the PITCH BUTTON (18) activates the PITCH CONTROL

(15). The pitch of the CD will change according to the position of the

PITCH CONTROL (15).

*NOTE: your sample will remain in the memory until you either clear it or create a new sample. You may change CDs and still use the sample you created previously.

RELOOP/STUTTER (12): Used for repeated play (stutter) from the cue point, repeating a previously set loop. The reloop function automatically returns the music to the cue point and will play the loop until it is released with the CUE B/EXIT BUTTON (11). CD starts instant play from the previously set cue points.

CUE BUTTONS: The CD-2000X allows you to set up to 5 different cue points using the CUE BUTTONS (25). To set each individual cue point, press the MEMO BUTTON (26) and then a cue button (Cue 1-5). You can keep setting cue points up to 5. As your music is playing, if you would like it to jump to one of your set cue points, simply press that individual cue button (Cue 1-5) and the music will jump to that point.

BOP BUTTON: When you set a cue point using the CUE BUTTON (16) or

FLY CUE BUTTON (10A) you can return to that cue point at any time during the musical performance simply by pressing the BOP BUTTON

(7). The music will immediately return to that point.

PITCH BEND BUTTONS

: Pushing the PITCH BEND BUTTONS (29) will automatically raise the pitch up to +4% or lower the pitch down to

-4% from the existing pitch setting. Releasing the buttons will return the pitch to the original pitch setting. You can use this function to match the pitch bend when mixing from one song to another.

DIGITAL OUTPUT JACK: Connecting any type of DAT, MD, HARD

DRIVE, or other such items which accept digital signals to the BNC

OUTPUT CONNECTOR (34) on the rear panel of the transports allows you to record a digital signal. from CD.

EFFECT ON/OFF BUTTON: The EFFECT ON/OFF BUTTON (19) turns all effects on and off.

BPM/PITCH BUTTON: The BPM/PITCH BUTTON (37) enables you to adjust the beats per minute of the music either automatically or manually. Press the BPM/PITCH BUTTON (37) to activate the automatic BPM control. To switch to manual operation, press and hold the BPM/PITCH BUTTON (37) for 3 seconds. Then tap the button in the tempo of your choice and the music will set itself to that tempo.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Make sure that the VOLTAGE SELECTOR switch (30), found on the rear panel, is set for the proper voltage. Plug the unit in and press the

POWER BUTTON (21). The unit will turn on. Pushing the POWER

BUTTON (21) a second time will turn the unit off.

EFFECT SELECT BUTTON: The EFFECT SELECT BUTTON (20) allows you to select one of five different effects:

2. Press the OPEN/CLOSE BUTTON (27), place a CD in the DISC TRAY

(20) and press the OPEN/CLOSE BUTTON (27) again. The tray will close into the unit.

The SCRATCH effect makes it possible for the jog wheel to “scratch” the music as it plays. If you move the wheel back and forth the music will stop and play slowly as the wheel is moved, similar to scratching a record. When the wheel stops moving the music will continue.

3. Push the TRACK SKIP +10 BUTTONS (13) to select the track you want to play.

4. Press the PLAY/PAUSE BUTTON (17) and the unit will instantly play.

The ZOOM effect changes the delay time by rotating the jog wheel, mixing a short delay with the playback sound. This function allows you to produce the sound of a jet engine (flanger effect) using a single CD player.

CUE INSTRUCTIONS

The FILTER effect allows you to change the cutoff frequency of the playback sound when the jog wheel is rotated. This allows the DJ to extract and play back specific parts from the playback sound.

The ECHO effect adds echo to the music. The delay time can be adjusted by turning the jog wheel to the left or right.

To use FLY CUE (10A) to set a cue point, follow these instructions:

1. With the unit in the play mode (play/pause LED glows green), press

FLY CUE (10A) at the point where you want the cue point to be (the unit will continue to play). The cue point is now memorized. Press the

CUE BUTTON (16) to return to the memorized cue point. Push the

PLAY/PAUSE BUTTON (17), and the unit will instantly play from the spot selected.

The REVERSE effect plays your musical selection backwards. When the effect is activated the music will play backwards until it is released.

Effect parameters can be adjusted by: 1. Holding down the EFFECT ON/

OFF BUTTON (19) for 3 seconds (the LCD display will indicate the parameter), 2. Using the JOG WHEEL (9) to change the parameter and

3. Pressing the ON/OFF BUTTON (19 to return to normal mode.

As you press the EFFECT SELECT BUTTON (20) the EFFECT LED (21) for that particular effect will light (Scratch = 1, Zoom = 2, Filter = 3, Echo

= 4, Reverse = 5). If you hold down the EFFECT SELECT BUTTON (20) continuously for 3 seconds or more, it will HOLD the effect parameters until you press the button again to release the effect.

BRAKE BUTTON: The BRAKE BUTTON (22) simulates the effect of a turntable slowing down to a stop. The brake parameters can be adjusted by pressing and holding the BRAKE BUTTON (22) for 3 seconds and using the JOG WHEEL (9) to adjust.

2. Press FLY CUE (10B) to memorize a cue point as music is playing. You can use FLY CUE (10B) to create a loop using FLY CUE (10B) and the

B/EXIT BUTTON (11).

AND/OR

1. To memorize the spot at which you want play to start, select the proper track, and then push the PLAY/PAUSE BUTTON (17) so the unit goes into the play mode (play/pause LED will glow green). Listen to the CD and when the CD gets to the approximate spot, push PLAY/PAUSE (17) so the unit goes into pause mode (play/pause LED will blink green).

Move the JOG WHEEL (9) to the precise spot you want play to begin and push the PLAY/PAUSE BUTTON (17) to memorize the cue point.

Press the CUE BUTTON (16) to return to the memorized cue point. Push the PLAY/PAUSE BUTTON (17), and the unit will instantly play from the spot selected.

MASTER TEMPO BUTTON: The MASTER TEMPO BUTTON (23) control locks in the music’s pitch even when the tempo changes. You can vary the beat with no change in vocal or instrument tone.

2. To fine tune a cue point, pause play at the memorized cue point (the cue LED will glow and the play/pause LED will blink), then use the JOG

WHEEL (9) to scan frame by frame (1/75th of a second) to where you

SAMPLER: You can create a sample by first creating a loop. Set the starting cue point using either the JOG WHEEL (9) or FLY CUE BUTTON (10). Then set your end loop point by using the B/EXIT BUTTON (11). Now that you have created your loop, press the SAMPLER BUTTON (24). Now you have created your sample. To play your sample during your performance press the

SAMPLER BUTTON (24). Press again to stop playing sample. To clear your sample simply hold the STOP BUTTON (4) down for 3 seconds or more.

NOTE: During fine tuning there will be a stutter effect (to help you find the beat). The stuttering effect will end when you press the PLAY/

PAUSE (17) to save the cue point.

ROBO START INSTRUCTIONS

IN SINGLE-A UT O CUE MODE

:

Use ROBO START (1) in SINGLE-AUTO CUE MODE to alternate play between the CD-2000X two CD players (one track from one side, then one from the other). In SINGLE-AUTO CUE MODE play starts immediately with no blank or “dead” space. ROBO START causes one side of the CD player to play when the other side is paused.

1. Engage SINGLE-AUTO CUE MODE with the SINGLE-AUTO CUE/

CONTINUOUS BUTTON (3).

2. Press the ROBO START BUTTON (1) to activate ROBO START. Play will alternate between the two CD players. At the end of a track, the playing side pauses and the other CD deck plays a track. At the end of this track, the playing side pauses and the first CD deck resumes play.

IN CONTINUOUS MODE OR DURING NORMAL PLAY:

If you use ROBO START without SINGLE-AUTO CUE MODE

(in CONTINUOUS MODE or during normal play), play will not alternate automatically. Pressing pause on the playing side will cause the other side to play.

1. During normal play, set a cue point on the other side of the CD player.

2. Press the ROBO START BUTTON (1) to activate ROBO START (the button will blink).

3. Press PLAY/PAUSE BUTTON (17) on the playing side to begin play from the cue point on the other side.

NOTE: Pausing the playing side in the middle of a track will cause the other side to play. When that track ends, play will begin from the middle of the track where play was paused.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

•

If the disk will not play, check to see if the disc was loaded correctly

(label side up). Also check the disc for excessive dirt, scratches, etc.

• If the disc turns but there is no sound, check the cable connections. If they are okay, check your amplifier or receiver.

• If the CD skips, check the CD for dirt or scratches. Do not assume that the CD player is defective. Many CDs are recorded out of spec and will skip on most or all CD players. Before sending the unit in for repair, try playing a CD that you are sure plays properly.

FUNKTIONSBESCHREIBUNGEN

Spur angezeigt. Die BPM/PITCH-Taste (37) ermöglicht Ihnen immer, das auszuwählen, was angezeigt werden soll, entweder PITCH PERCENT

AGE (Tonhöhe-Prozent) oder BPM (Schläge pro Minute).

PLAYBACK DISPLAY (Wiedergabe-Anzeige): Die WIEDERGABE-

ANZEIGE (6) zeigt die restliche Abspielzeit an und glimmt langsam, wenn nur noch 30 Sekunden auf der Spur abzuspielen sind. Die

WIEDERGABE-ANZEIGE (6) glimmt schnell, wenn nur noch 15

Sekunden auf der Spur verbleiben.

AUSWAHL DER LEITUNGSSPANNUNG

Modell CD-2000X ist ein Gerät mit Doppelspannung. Es arbeitet bei 115 oder 230 V. Um die vorschriftsmäßige Spannung einzustellen, sind folgende Schritte zu befolgen:

PLAY/PAUSE (Spielen/Pause): Jedesmal, wenn die PLAY/PAUSE-Taste

(17) gedrückt wird, schaltet das Gerät von Spielen auf Pause bzw. von

Pause auf Spielen.

TRACK SKIP (Spur überspringen): Die TRACK SKIP-Tasten (13) ermöglichen die Auswahl der Spur, die gespielt werden soll.

1. Die Spitze des Schraubenziehers in die Mitte des VOLTAGE SELEC

TOR-Schalters (30) setzen, der sich an der Rückwand des Gehäuses befindet.

2. Den Schalter nach links auf 115 V oder nach rechts auf 230 V schieben.

3. Den Schalter nicht zwingen oder drehen. Wenn man übermäßige

Gewalt anwendet, kann dies den Schalter beschädigen. Wenn der

Schalter sich nicht leicht schieben lässt, wenden Sie sich an einen qualifizierten Fachmann.

SEARCH (Suchen): Die SEARCH-Tasten (28) werden benutzt, um beim

Abspielen oder im Pause-Modus vor- oder zurückzuspulen. Weitere

Informationen finden unter CUE-ANWEISUNGEN.

JOG WHEEL (Suchrad): Das SUCHRAD (9) hat zwei Funktionen.

Benuzten Sie das SUCHRAD (9), um Feineinstellungen im Pause-Modus zu machen. Benuzten Sie das SUCHRAD (9), um der Tonhöhe eine

Nuance zu verleihen, um somit eine genaue Synchronisation im Abspiel-

Modus, für das Raspelgeräusch und beim Regulieren der Vorlauf- und der Effektparameter zu erzielen.

ANSCHLUSSVERBINDUNGEN

STOP: Die STOP-Taste (4) beendet das Abspielen der CD.

1. Benutzen Sie die beigefügten Kabel und stecken ein Ende in den

REMOTE CONTROL-Stecker (31) an Seite 2 und das andere Ende in den MAIN UNIT-Stecker (32) ebenfalls an Seite 2. Den gleichen

Vorgang bei Seite 1 durchführen.

ANSCHLIESSEN. WENN DIESE KREUZWEISE VERBUNDEN

WERDEN (z.B., wenn die Fernsteuerung an Seite 1 des

Hauptgeräts an Seite 2 angeschlossen wird) WIRD DER CD-

2000X NICHT FUNKTIONIEREN.

Anschlüsse an den CD- bzw. AUX-Eingangsbuchsen des Empfängers

TIME (Zeit): Die TIME-Taste (2) schaltet die Zeitanzeige zwischen drei verschiedenen Auswahlen, die unter DISPLAY aufgeführt sind.

FLY CUE (Sofort-Merkstelle): Die Funktion FLY CUE (10A), ermöglicht

Ihnen, durch Drücken einer Taste sofort Merkstellen einzustellen. Wenn der CD-Spieler im Spielmodus ist (die PLAY/PAUSE-LED glimmt grün), drücken Sie die FLY CUE-Taste (10A) an der Stelle, wo die Merkstelle sein soll (der CD-Spieler spielt weiter). Nun ist die Merkstelle gespeichert. Die CUE-Taste (16) drücken, um zur gespeicherten

Merkstelle zurückzukehren. Die PLAY/PAUSE-Taste (17) drücken und der CD-Spieler wird sofort ab der ausgewählten Stelle spielen.

CUE (Merkstelle): Wenn der CD-Spieler im Spielmodus ist (die PLAY/

PAUSE-LED glimmt grün) und nachdem die Merkstelle gespeichert worden ist, wird das Drücken der CUE-Taste (16) dazu führen, dass der CD-Spieler an der gespeicherten Stelle (die PLAY/PAUSE-LED glimmt gelb) in den Pause-Modus eintritt (die PLAY/PAUSE-LED glimmt grün).

Wenn Sie CUE-Taste gedrückt halten, wird die Funktion auf PREVIEW

(Vorschau) geändert (wobei Sie die Musik beim Niederdrücken der

CUE-Taste zu jedem eingestellten Tempo hören können). Wenn Sie die

Cue-Taste rücksetzen, gehen Sie zur voreingestellen Merkstelle zurück.

SEAMLESS LOOP (Durchgehende Schleife): Nachdem eine Merkstelle gespeichert wurde und wenn die B/EXIT-Taste (11) im Spiel-Modus gedrückt wird, wird der Abschnitt zwischen der Merkstelle und der

Stelle, an der die B/EXIT-Taste (11) gedrückt wurde, wiederholt. Die B/

EXIT-Taste (11) noch einmal drücken oder das Abspielen momentan stoppen, um wiederholte Abspielen zu beenden.

SINGLE-AUTO CUE/CONTINUOUS: Das Drücken der SINGLE-AUTO

CUE/CONTINUOUS-Taste (3) wird die AUTO-CUE-Funktion aktivieren.

Mit der AUTO-CUE-FUNKTION wird das Gerät beim Start der Musik der darauffolgenden Spur momentan stoppen und ermöglicht Ihnen, die

Musik sofort beim Start der Spur ohne jeden Leerraum (der zu Beginn einer jeden Spur besteht) zu abzuspielen. Wenn Sie die SINGLE-AUTO

CUE/CONTINUOUS-Taste (3) ein zweites Mal drücken, aktiviert sie die

CONTINUOUS-Funktion, wodurch das Gerät kontinuierlich spielt (nach der letzten Spur wird das Gerät zur ersten Spur der CD zurückkehren und weiter spielen). Wenn Sie die SINGLE-AUTO CUE/CONTINUOUS-

Taste (3) ein drittes Mal drücken, wird die CONTINUOUS-Funktion aktiviert.

ROBO START: Drücken Sie die ROBO START-Taste (1) um den ROBO

START zu aktivieren (die Taste wird glimmen). Benutzen Sie den ROBO

START im SINGLE-AUTO CUE-Modus, um beim Spielen der zwischen den zwei Seiten des CD-Spielers zu alternieren (eine Spur von der einen und eine von der anderen Seite). Für weitere Informationen, siehe

4%-, 12%- und 24%-TASTEN: Mit den Tasten 4%-, 12%- und 24%-Tasten

(14) können Sie die prozentuale Tonhöhenverschiebung bewirken. Die

4%-Taste bewirkt eine Tonhöhenverschiebung von +/-4%. Die 12%-

Taste bewirkt eine Tonhöhenverschiebung von +/-12%. Die 24%-Taste bewirkt eine Tonhöhenverschiebung von +/-24%. Damit die 4%-, 12%-

und 24%-Tasten (14) funktionieren können, muß PITCH (18) auf ON geschaltet sein.

PITCH(Tonhöhe): Das Drücken der PITCH-Taste (18) aktiviert die PITCH

CONTROL (TONHÖHEREGELUNG) (15). Die Tonhöhe der CD wird je nach der Stellung der TONHÖHEREGELUNG (15) geändert.

PITCH BEND(Tonhöhen-Nuance): Das Drücken der PITCH BEND-

Tasten (29) wird die Tonhöhe von der ursprünglichen Einstellung automatische bis +4% anheben oder bis auf -4% senken. Diese

Funktion können Sie benutzen, um die Tonhöhen-Nuance anzupassen, wenn Sie beim Mischen vom einen zum anderen Song übergehen.

DIGITAL OUTPUT JACK (Digitale Ausgangsbuchse): Die Verbindung mit jeder Art von DAT, MD, HARD DRIVE oder anderer derartiger

Vorrichtungen, die Signale zum BNC-Ausgangsanschluss (34) an der

Rückwand des Transports annehmen, ermöglichen Ihnen, das

Digitalsignal aufzuzeichnen.

EFFECT ON/OFF: Die EFFECT ON/OFF-Taste (19) ermöglichtIhnen, jegliche Effekte ein- und auszuschalten.

EFFECT SELECT: Die EFFECT SELECT-Taste (20) ermöglicht Ihnen, einen von fünf verschiedenen Effekten auszuwählen:

Der ZOOM-Effekt ändert die Verzögerungszeit, indem das Suchrad gedreht wird, wobei die kurze Verzögerung mit dem Wiedergabeklang gemischt wird. Diese Funktion ermöglichen Ihnen, den Klang eines

Düsenmotors zu erzeugen (Effektsteller), wobei ein einzelner CD-

Spieler benutzt wird.

Der FILTER-Effekt ermöglichen Ihnen, die kritische Frequenz des

Wiedergabeklangs zu ändern, wenn das Suchrad rotiert. Dies ermöglicht dem DJ, bestimmte Teile aus dem Wiedergabeklang ziehen und wiederzugeben.

Der ECHO-Effekt verleiht der Musik ein Echo. Die Verzögerungszeit kann reguliert werden, indem das Suchrad nach links oder rechts gestellt wird.

Der REVERSE-Effekt spielt die musikalische Auswahl in die umgekehrte

Richtung. Wenn der Effekt aktiviert ist, spielt die Musik in die umgekehrte

Richtung, bis diese Funktion rückgesetzt wird.

Jeder Parameter kann wie folgt reguliert werden: 1. Die EFFECT ON/

OFF-Taste (19) für 3 Sekunden gedrückt halten (die LED-Anzeige wird den Parameter anzeigen). 2. Das SUCHRAD (9) benutzen, um den

Parameter zu ändern. 3. Die EFFECT ON/OFF-Taste (19) drücken, um zum normalen Modus zurückzukehren. Indem Sie die EFFECT SELECT-

Taste (20) drücken, wird die EFFECT-LED (21) für diesen bestimmten

Effekt aufleuchten (Raspelgeräusch = 1 Zoom = 2, Filter = 3, Echo = 4,

Reverse = 5). Wenn Sie die EFFECT SELECT-Taste (20) 3 Sekunden lang kontinuierlich gedrückt oder länger halten, werden diese Parameter beibehalten, bis Sie die Taste nochmals drücken, um den Effekt rückzusetzen.

Die BRAKE-Taste (22) simuliert den Effekt eines Plattenspielers, dessen

Geschwindigkeit reduziert wird, bis er zum Stoppen kommt. Die

Bremsparameter können reguliert werden, in dem Sie die BRAKE-Taste

(22) drei Sekunden lang drücken und halten und die Regulierung mit dem

SUCHRAD (9) durchführen.

MASTER TEMPO: MASTER TEMPO-Taste (23) dieser Regler arretiert die Tonhöhe, selbst wenn das Tempo geändert wird. Sie können den Beat variieren, ohne dabei den Vokal- oder

Instrumentenklang zu ändern.

SAMPLER (PROBENEHMER): Sie können eine Probe erstellen, indem Sie zuerst eine Schleifen bilden. Den Anfangsmerkpunkt einstellen, indem Sie entweder das SUCHRAD (9) oder die FLY CUE-

Taste (10) benutzen. Dann stellen Sie den Endpunkt der Schleife mittels der B/EXIT-Taste (11) ein. Wenn Sie die Schleife geformt haben, drücken Sie die SAMPLER-Taste (24). Nun haben Sie eine Probe erstellt. Um die Probe während des Abspielens des musikalischen

Werks zu spielen, drücken Sie die SAMPLER-Taste (24). Die Taste wiederholt drücken, um das abspielen der Probe zu stoppen.

Um eine Probe zu löschen, halten Sie die STOP-Taste (4) für drei

Sekunden oder länger gedrückt. *Hinweis: Ihre Probe wird im Speicher

bleiben, bis Sie sie entweder löschen oder eine neue Proble erstellen.

Sie können die CDs wechseln und dennoch die zuvor erstellte Probe benutzen.

RELOOP/STUTTER-Taste (12): Wird benutzt für wiederholtes Abspielen

(Stutter-Effekt) von der Merkstelle, wobei eine zuvor eingestellte

Schleife wiederholt wird. Die Funktion der neuen Schleife führt die

Musik automatisch zur Merkstelle zurück und spielt die Schleife ab, bis sie mit der B/EXIT-Taste (11) zurückgestellt wird. Die CD wird sofort von den zuvor eingestellten Merkstellen abgespielt.

CUE-Tasten (25): Der CD-2000X ermöglicht Ihnen, bis zu fünf verschiedene Merkstellen mittels der CUE-Tasten (25) einzustellen. Um jede individuelle Merkstelle einzustellen, drücken Sie auf die MEMO-

Taste (26) und dann eine Merktaste (Cue 1 - 5). Sie können bis zu 5

Merkstellen einstellen. Wenn Sie zu einer der eingestellten Merkstellen

überspringen wollen, während die Musik spielt, drücken Sie einfach diese Merktaste (Cue 1 - 5), und die Musik wird zur eingestellten

Merkstelle überspringen.

BOP-Taste: BOP-Taste (7) Wenn Sie eine Merkstelle mittels der CUE-

Taste (16) oder der FLY CUE-Taste (10A) eingestellt haben, können Sie jederzeit während des Abspielens der Musik zur Merkstelle zurückkehren, indem Sie die BOP-Taste (7) drücken. Die Musik wird sofort zu der Stelle zurückkehren.

BPM/PITCH-Taste: Die BPM/PITCH-Taste (37) ermöglicht Ihnen, die

Beats pro Minute entweder automatisch oder mit Hand zu regulieren.

Das Drücken der BPM/PITCH-Taste (37) aktiviert die automatische

BPM-Regelung. Um zu manuellem Betrieb umzuschalten, die BPM/

PITCH-Taste (37) für 3 Sekunden drücken und halten. Dann die Taste im gewünschten Tempo anzapfen, und die Musik wird sich darauf einstellen.

BEDIENIUNGSANWEISUNGEN

1. Sicherstellen, daß der VOLTAGE SELECTOR-Schalter (30)

(Spannungswähler) an der Rückwand auf die vorschriftsmäßige

Spannung eingestellt ist. Das Gerät anschließen und die POWER-Taste

(21) drücken. Damit wird das Gerät eingeschaltet. Wenn die POWER-

Taste (21) ein zweites Mal gedrückt wird, wird es ausgeschaltet.

2. Die OPEN/CLOSE-Taste (27) drücken, eine CD in das CD-Schubfach

(20) legen und die OPEN/CLOSE-Taste (27) nochmals drücken. Das

Schubfach bewegt sich zurück in das Gerät und schließt sich.

3. Die TRACK SKIP-Tasten (13) drücken, um die erschwünschte Spur auszuwählen.

4. Die Tasten PLAY/PAUSE (17) drücken, und das Gerät fängt sofort an zu spielen.

CUE-ANWEISUNGEN

Um die Funktion FLY CUE (10A) zu benutzen stellen Sie eine Merkstelle ein und folgen diesen Anweisungen:

1. Wenn der CD-Spieler im Spielmodus ist (die PLAY/PAUSE-LED glimmt

grün), drücken Sie die FLY CUE-Taste (10A) an der Stelle, wo die

Merkstelle sein soll (der CD-Spieler spielt weiter). Nun ist die Merkstelle gespeichert. Die CUE-Taste (16) drücken, um zur gespeicherten

(16), um zu der gespeicherten Merkstelle zurückzukehren. Drücken Sie die PLAY/PAUSE-Taste (17), und dass das Gerät wird momentan die

Musik von der ausgewählten Stelle an spielen.

2. Um eine Merkstelle fein abzustimmen, müssen Sie das Abspielen an der gespeicherten Merkstelle kurz stoppen (die PLAY/PAUSE-LED wird glimmen), und dann drehen Sie das JOG WHEEL (9), um Rahmen um

Rahmen zu scannen (1/75tel einer Sekunde), bis Sie an die Stelle gelangen, wo das Abspielen beginnen soll (die CUE-LED wird während des Scannens glimmen). Drücken Sie die PLAY/PAUSE-Taste (17), um die neue Merkstelle zu sichern.

Hinweis: Während der Feinstimmung entsteht ein Stutter-Effekt

ROBO START-ANWEISUNGEN

IM SINGLE-AUTO CUE-Modus:

Benutzen Sie ROBO START (1) im SINGLE-AUTO CUE-Modus, um das

Abspielen zwischen den zwei CD-Spielern des CD-2000X zu alternieren (eine Spur von der einen Seite und dann eine von der anderen Seite). Im SINGLE-AUTO CUE-Modus beginnt das Abspielen der Musik sofort und ohne Leerstellen. Mit ROBO START wird eine Seite des CD-Spielers abgepielt, wenn die andere Seite angehalten

1. Den SINGLE-AUTO CUE-Modus durch Drücken der SINGLE-AUTO

CUE/CONTINOUS-Taste (3) einschalten.

2. Die ROBO START-Taste (1) drücken, im ROBO START zu aktivieren.

Der Abspielvorgang wird zwischen den beiden CD-Spielern alternieren.

Am Ende eine Spur wird die gespielte Seite anhalten, und der andere

CD-Spieler wird eine Spur spielen. Am Ende dieser Spur wird die gespielte Seite anhalten, und der erste CD-Spieler fängt wieder an zu spielen.

IM KONTINUIERLICHEN MODUS ODER BEI NORMALEM ABSPIELEN:

Wenn Sie ROBO START ohne SINGLE-AUTO CUE MODUS (im

CONTINUOUS MODUS oder bei normalem Abspielen) benutzen, wird das Abspielen nicht automatisch von der einen Seite zur anderen wechseln. Wenn Sie die Pause-Taste auf der anderen Spielseite drücken, wird die andere Seite abgespielt.

1. Bei normalem Abspielen setzen Sie eine Merkstellen auf der anderen

Seite des CD-Spielers.

2. Die ROBO START-Taste (1) drücken, um ROBO START zu aktivieren

(die Taste wird glimmen).

3. Die PLAY/PAUSE-Taste (17) an der abspielenden Seite drücken, um das

Abspielen von der Merkstelle auf der anderen Seite zu beginnen.

HINWEIS: Das momentanes Stoppen der Abspielseite mitten in der Spur wird dazu führen, dass die andere Seite gespielt wird. Wenn die Spur endet, wird das Abspielen von der Mitte der anderen Spur beginnen, wo das Abspielen der Musik momentan gestoppt wurde.

FEHLERSUCHE

• Wenn eine CD nicht spielt, nachprüfen, ob die CD richtig eingelegt wurde (mit der beschrifteten Seite nach oben). Auch auf

Verunreinigung, Kratzer usw. überprüfen.

• Wenn die CD sich dreht, aber kein Ton zu hören ist, die

Kabelanschlüsse überprüfen. Wenn diese in Ordnung sind, den

Verstärker bzw. das Empfangsgerät überprüfen.

• Wenn die CD springt, ist sie auf Schmutz oder Kratzer zu überprüfen.

Man darf nicht sofort annehmen, daß der CD-Spieler defekt ist. Viele

CDs werden nicht spezifikationsgemäß aufgezeichnet und springen auf den meisten oder allen CD-Spielern. Bevor Sie das Gerät zur Reparatur einsenden, versuchen Sie, eine CD abzuspielen, von der Sie sicher sind, daß sie richtig spielt.

NOTA IMPORTANTE

Puesto que le CD-2000X es un doble lector CD, la mayoría de las funciones y losmandos se duplican en ambos lados del aparato. Para eliminar la confusión y para facilitar la comprensión de los dibujos, solamente numerar las funciones y los del lado derecho. Los únicos mandos no duplicados son el ROBO START (1), el pulsador POWER (1) y el conmutador VOLTAGE SELECTOR (30).

SELECCION DE LA TENSION DEL SECTOR

El modelo CD-2000X es un aparato de doble tensión. Funcionará en 115

ó 230 voltios. Para establecer la tensión correcta, haga lo siguiente:

1. Coloque la cabeza de un atornillador en el centro del SELECTOR DE

TENSION (30) que se encuentra en el panel trasero.

2. Deslice el selector hacia la izquierda para 115 voltios o a la derecha para

230 voltios.

3. No fuerce ni tuerza el selector. Una fuerza excesiva lo puede dañar. Si el selector no se mueve fácilmente, póngase en contacto con un técnico homologado.

CONEXIONES

1. Con los cables suministrados, enfiche una extremidad en el conector

REMOTE CONTROL -TELEMANDO(31) en el lado 2 y la otra extremidad en el conector MAIN UNIT – APARATO PRINCIPAL (32) también en el lado 2. Haga lo mismo con el lado 1.

2. Enfiche una extremidad de un juego de conectores RCA en cada uno de los jacks de LINE OUTPUT (33).

DESCRIPCIONES FUNCIONALES

ANTI-SHOCK BUFFER MEMORY: Con 12 segundos de MEMORIA DE

AMORTIGUACION PARACHOQUE, cada lado del lector DC memoriza 6 segundos de lectura futura para asegurar de que ningun movimiento brusco o choque del aparato interrumpa la lectura y para asegurar un funcionamiento suave y continuo.

POWER: Después de cerciorarse de que el VOLTAGE SELECTOR –

SELECTOR DE TENSION (30), colocado en el panel trasero, esté bien puesto, enfiche el aparato y apriete el pulsador POWER – PODER (21).

El aparato se activa. El hecho de apretar el pulsador POWER (21) por segunda vez, lo apaga.

DISC TRAY: El DISC TRAY – BANDEJA DE DISCO (20) es donde el disco compacto se encuertra durante el cargamento, el descargamento y la lectura. El hecho de apretar el pulsador OPEN/CLOSE – ABRIR/

CERRAR (7) de la bandeja la abrirá o la cerrará. La BANDEJA (20) recibe discos de 12 cms o de 8 cms. Observe por favor que si el

CD-2000X se encuentra en la modalidad de lectura, la bandeja no se abre.

OPEN/CLOSE BUTTON: Apriete el pulador OPEN/CLOSE (7) para cargar o remover un disco compacto de la BANDEJA DE DISCO (20) .

DISPLAY: El DISPLAY – PANTALLA (5) muestra el número de la pista, el valor de la altura tonal, el single-auto cue, continuación (para la lectura continua) y 3 pantallas de tiempo diferentes. Estas pantallas de tiempo son el tiempo transcurrido en la pista, el tiempo restante en el disco y el tiempo restante en la pista. El tiempo se mide en minutos, segundos y tramos. También muestra los batidos por minuto de la pista. El pulsador

BPM/PITCH (37) le permite seleccionar lo que quiere que se muestre, sea el PITCH PERCENTAGE- PORCENTAJE DE LA ALTURA TONAL o el BPM.

PLAYBACK DISPLAY: El PLAYBACK DISPLAY – PANTALLA DE

LECTURA (6) muestra el tiempo remanente de lectura y parpadea lentamente cuando quedan 30 segundas. El PLAYBACK DISPLAY (6) parpadea rápidamente cuando quedan 15 segundos en la pista.

PLAY/PAUSE: Cada vez que se apriete el pulsador PLAY/PAUSE –

LECTURA/PAUSA produce un cambio en el funcionamiento de lectura a pausa o de pausa a lectura.

TRACK SKIP: Los pulsadores TRACK SKIP – SALTO DE PISTA (13) le permite seleccionar la pista que quiera escuchar.

SEARCH BUTTONS: Los pulsadores SEARCH – BUSCAR (28) se usan para ir en adelante o atrás durante la modalidad de lectura o de pausa. Véase la

INSTRUCCIONES DEL PUNTO DE REFERENCIA para más informaciones.

JOG WHEEL: La rueda JOG WHEEL (9) tiene varias funciones. Utilice esta rueda para realizar ajustes finos en la modalidad de pausa. Utilice esta rueda para adaptar la altura tonal para obtenir una sincronización perfecta en la modalidad de lectura y para hacer ajustes a los parámetros de referencia y efectos.

STOP: El pulsador STOP – PARADA (4) termina la lectura del disco compacto.

TIME: El pulsador TIME – TIEMPO (2) hace cambiar la pantalla temporal entre las tres selecciones disponibles enumeradas bajo DISPLAY.

FLY CUE: La función FLY CUE (10A) le permite establecer rápidamente puntos de referencia con un toque del pulsador. Con el aparato en la modalidad de lectura (DEL lectura/pause prendido y verde), apriete el

FLY CUE (10A) en el lugar donde quiere un punto de referencia (el aparato sigue tocando). Ahora el punto de referencia está memorizada.

Apriete el pulsador CUE (16) para regresar al punto de referencia memorizado. Empuje el pulsador PLAY/PAUSE (17) y el aparato tocará inmediatamente desde el punto seleccionado.

CUE: Con el aparato en la modalidad de lectura (DEL lectura/pausa prendido y verde) y después de haber memorizado el punto de referencia, el hecho de apretar el pulsador CUE (16) hará pasar el lector DC a la modalidad de pausa (el DEL lectura/pausa parpadea y es verde) en el punto memorizado (el DEL de referencia es amarillo).

Manteniendo el dedo en el pulsador de referencia hace cambiar la función de referencia a PREVIEW (lo que le permite escuchar la música en cualquier ritmo ajustado al mantener el dedo en el pulsador de referencia). Al soltar el pulsador, el aparato regresa al punto de referencia preestablecido.

SEAMLESS LOOP: Después de memorizar un punto de referencia, el hecho de apretar el pulsador B/EXIT (11) repite la acción entre el punto de referencia y el punto donde se apretó el pulsador B/EXIT (11).

Apriete el pulsador B/EXIT (11) otra vez o ponga en aparato en Pausa para EXIT – SALIR de la lectura repetida.

SINGLE-AUTO CUE/CONTINUOUS: El hecho de apretar el pulsador

SINGLE-AUTO CUE/CONTINUOUS (3) activa la función AUTO CUE.

Esta función hace pausar el aparato al principio de la música de la pista siguiente y le permite empezar la música inmediatamente desde el principio de la música sin espacio blanco (que existe al principio de cada pista). El hecho de apretar el pulsador SINGLE-AUTO CUE/

CONTINUOUS (3) por segunda vez activa la función CONTINUA lo que produce una lectura continua (después de la última pista, el aparato pasa a la primera pista del disco y sigue tocando). El hecho de apretar el pulsador SINGLE-AUTO CUE/CONTINUOUS (3) por tercera vez, apaga la función CONTINUA.

ROBO START: Apriete el pulsador ROBO START (1) para activar la función ROBO START (el pulsador parpadea). Utilice ROBO START en la MODALIDAD SINGLE-AUTO CUE para alternar entre los dos lados del reproductor de discos compactos (una pista de un lado, después una pista del otro lado). Véase las instrucciones Robo Start para más instrucciones.

PULSADORES DE 4%, 12%, 24%: Utilice los pulsadores de 4%, 12% y

24% (14) para asignar el porcentaje que tendrá el deslizador de control de la altura tonal. El pulsador de 4% asignará +/-4% al deslizador de control de la altura. El pulsador de 12% asignará +/-12% y él de 24% asignará +/-24%. El PITCH (18) debe estar ON – ACTIVO para que funcionen los pulsadores de 4%, 12% y 24%.

PITCH: El hecho de apretar el pulsador PITCH (18) activa el PITCH

CONTROL – CONTROL DE ALTURA TONAL (15). La altura del disco compacto cambiará según la posición del PITCH CONTROL (15).

PITCH BEND BUTTONS: El hecho de apretar los pulsadores PITCH

BEND – AJUSTE DE LA ALTURA TONAL (29) automáticamente alzará la altura por hasta 4% o atenuará la altura hasta 4%. El hecho de soltar los pulsadores regresará la altura tonal a su valor original. Se puede utilizar esta función para hacer corresponder el ajuste de la altura tonal de una canción a otra.

DIGITAL OUTPUT JACK: Conectando cualquier tipo de DAT, MD, DISCO

DURO u otros artículos de este tipo que aceptan señales numéricas al

BNC OUTPUT CONNECTOR (34) en el panel trasero de los transportes le permite registrar una señal numérica.

EL PULSADOR ACTIVO/DESACTIVO DE LOS EFECTOS (19) activa o desactiva todos los efectos.

EL SELECTOR DE EFECTOS (20) le permite seleccionar uno de cinco efectos diferentes:

El efecto ZOOM cambia el tiempo de temporización rotando la rueda

JOG, y mezcla una breve temporización con la reproducción. Esta función le permite producir el sonido de un reactor con el uso de un solo lector de discos compactos.

El efecto FILTER/FILTRO le permite cambiar la frecuencia de corte de la reproducción cuando la rueda JOG está girando. Esto le permite al DJ extraer y reproducir ciertas partes de la reproducción.

El efecto ECHO/ECO añade eco a la música. Se puede ajustar el tiempo de temporización girando la rueda JOG a la izquierda o a la derecha.

El efecto REVERSE/INVERSO hace jugar su seleccón musical de atrás al frente.Con el efecto activado, la música tocará de atrás al frente hasta su liberación. Se puede ajustar los parámetros de los efectos de la manera siguiente: 1. Manteniendo el PULSADOR ACTIVO/

DESACTIVO DE LOS EFECTOS (19) por 3 segundos (la pantalla LCD indicará el parámetro); 2. Con la RUEDA JOG (9) para cambiar el parámetro y 3. Apretando el PULSADOR ACTIVO/DESACTIVO (19) para volver a la modalidad normal. Al apretar el SELECTOR DE

EFECTOS (20), el DEL de EFECTOS (21) se prenderá para este efecto particular (Scratch = 1, Zoom = 2, Filtro = 3, Eco = 4, Inverso = 5). Si se mantiene el dedo contínuamente por 3 segundos o más en el SELEC

TOR DE EFECTOS (20), se mantendrán los parámetros de efectos hasta que se apriete el selector otra vez para liberar el efecto.

EL PULSADOR DE FRENADO (22) simula el efecto de un tocadiscos que va más despacio hasta el punto de pararse. Se puede ajustar los parámetros de frenado al apoyar y mantener el dedo en el PULSADOR

DE FRENADO (22) por 3 segundos y al utilizar la RUEDA JOG (9) para ajustar.

PULSADOR TIEMPO MAESTRO (23) – Este mando mantiene la altura tonal de la música hasta cuando se cambie el tiempo. Se puede variar el batido sin cambios en el tono vocal o instrumental.

SAMPLER – MUESTREADOR (24) - Se puede crear una muestra después de crear un bucle primero. Establezca el punto de referencia con sea la RUEDA JOG (9) o el PULSADOR FLY CUE (10). Establezca ahora el punto final del bucle con el PULSADOR B/EXIT (11). Ahora que

Ud tiene el bucle, apriete el PULSADOR SAMPLER (24). Ahora tiene su muestra. Para reproducir la muestra durante la música, apriete el

PULSADOR SAMPLER (24). Apriete otra vez para parar la muestra.

Para suprimir su muestra, simplemente mantenga el dedo en el

PULSADOR STOP/PARADA (4) por 3 segundos o más.

*Nota: Su muestra se quedará en la memoria hasta que Ud la suprima o cree otra muestra. Se puede cambiar de disco compacto y todavía utilizar la muestra que creó antes.

RELOOP/STUTTER (12): Se utiliza esta función para la reproducción repetida (stutter) desde el punto de referencia, repitiendo un bucle establecido anteriormente. La función RELOOP vuelve la música automáticamente al punto de referencia y hará reproducir el bucle hasta que se libere con el PULSADOR CUE B/EXIT (11). La reproducción del disco compacto empieza inmediatamente desde los puntos de referencia establecidos anteriormente.

PULSADORES CUE/DE REFERENCIA: El aparato CD-2000X le permite establecir hasta 5 puntos de referencia diferentes con los

PULSADORES CUE (25). Para establecer cada punto de referencia individual, apriete el PULSADOR MEMO (26) y después el pulsador de referencia (Cue 1 – 5). Se puede establecer hasta 5 puntos de referencia. Mientras que se reproduce la música, si a Ud le gusta saltar a uno de estos puntos de referencia, apriete simplemente el pulsador de referencia individual (Cue 1-5) y la música saltará hasta tal punto.

PULSADOR BOP: Cuando se establece un punto de referencia con el

PULSADOR CUE (16) o el PULSADOR FLY CUE (10A), se puede volver a este punto de referencia en cualquier momento durante la música simplemente al apretar el PULSADOR BOP (7). La música volverá inmediatamente a tal punto.

PULSADOR BPM/PITCH: El PULSADOR BPM/PITCH (37) le permite ajustar los batidos por minuto de la música, automática o manualmente.

Aprieta el PULSADOR BPM/PITCH (37) para activar el mando BPM automático. Para cambiar a la operación manual, apriete y mantenga el dedo por 3 segundos en el PULSADOR BPM/PITCH (37). Después, toque el pulsador según el ritmo de su gusto y la música se ajustará automáticamente a tal ritmo.

INSTRUCCIONES DE FUNCIONAMIENTO

1. Cerciórese de que el SELECTOR DE TENSION (30) que se encuentra en el panel trasero, ocupe la tensión correcta. Enfiche el aparato y apriete el pulsador POWER – PODER (21). El aparato se prende. El hecho de apretar el pulsador POWER (21) otra vez, lo apagará.

2. Apriete el pulsador OPEN/CLOSE – ABRIR/CERRAR (27), coloque un disco compacto en la BANDEJA DE DISCO (20) y apriete el pulsador

OPEN/CLOSE – ABRIR/CERRAR (27) otra vez. La bandeja entra dentro del aparato.

3. Aprieta los pulsadores TRACK SKIP +10 (13) para seleccionar la pista que quiere reproducir.

4. Apriete el pulsador PLAY/PAUSE (17) y el aparato reproducirá inmediatamente.

INSTRUCCIONES CUE – PUNTO DE REFERENCIA

Para utilizar FLY CUE (10A) para establecer un punto de referencia, siga las instrucciones siguientes:

1. Para memorizar el lugar donde quiere que se inicie la reproducción, apriete FLY CUE (10) en el lugar donde quiere que esté el punto de referencia (el aparato continuará reproduciendo). Ahora el punto de referencia está memorizado. Apriete el pulsador CUE (16) para regresar al punto de referencia memorizado. Apriete el pulsador PLAY/

PAUSE (17) y el aparato empezará reproduciendo desde el lugar seleccionado.

2. Apriete el pulsador FLY CUE (10B) para memorizar el punto de referencia durante la reproducción de la música. Se puede utilizar FLY

CUE (10B) para crear un bucle com FLY CUE (10B) y el pulsador B/

EXIT (11).

Y/O

1. Para memorizar el lugar donde quiere empezar la reproducción, seleccione la pista deseada y después apriete el PULSADOR PLAY/

PAUSE (17); ahora el aparato pasa a la modalidad de reproducción (el

DEL de lectura/pausa se prende y es verde). Escuche el disco compacto y cuando el disco se acerca del lugar aproximado, apriete

PLAY/PAUSE (17) ; ahora el aparato pasa a la modalidad de pausa (el

DEL de lectura/pausa es verde y parpadea). Desplace la RUEDA JOG

(9) al lugar exacto de donde quiere que empiece la música y apriete el

PULSADOR PLAY/PAUSE (17) para memorizar el punto de referencia.

Apriete el PULSADOR PLAY/PAUSE (17) y el aparato comenzará a reproducir instantáneamente desde el lugar seleccionado.

2. Para sincronizar un punto de referencia con precisión, ponga la reproducción en PAUSA en el punto de referencia memorizado (el DEL

de referencia se prenderá y el DEL Lectura/Pausa parpadea). Después, utilice el JOG WHEEL (9) para escanear tramo por tramo (1/75 de un segundo) hasta donde Ud quiere que empiece la reproducción). Apriete

PLAY/PAUSE (17) para memorizar el nuevo punto de referencia.

NOTA: Durante el ajuste fino, habrá un efecto de perturbación (para ayudarle a encontrar el ritmo). Este efecto se termina cuando apriete PLAY/PAUSE (17) para memorizar el punto de referencia.

EN LA MODALIDAD SINGLE-AUTO CUE: Utilice el ROBO START (1) en la modalidad SINGLE-AUTO CUE para alternar la reproducción entre los dos lectores DC del CD-2000X (una pista de un lado, después una del otro lado). 2. Apriete el PULSADOR ROBO START (1) para activar la función ROBO

START. La reproducción alternará entre los dos lectores DC. Al final de una pista, el lado de reproducción se pone en pausa y el otro lector DC reproduce una pista. Al final de esta pista, el lado de reproducción se pone en pausa y el primer lector DC se mete a reproducir otra vez.

EN MODALIDAD CONTINUA O DURANTE LA REPRODUCCION NORMAL:

Si se usa ROBO START sin modalidad SINGLE-AUTO CUE (en la modalidad CONTINUA o durante la reproducción normal), la reproducción no alternará automáticamente. Apretando Pausa en el lado de reproducción hará reproducir el otro lado.

1. Durante la reproducción normal, coloque un punto de referencia en el otro lado de reproductor de discos compactos.

2. Apriete el pulsador ROBO START (1) para activar la función ROBO

START (el pulsador parpadea).

3. Apriete el pulsador PLAY/PAUSE (17) en el lado reproducido para empezar la reproducción desde el punto de referencia en el otro lado.

• Si el disco no reproduce, verifique si el disco ha sido cargado correctamente (etiqueta hacia arriba). Verifique también si el disco contiene un exceso de suciedad, rascaduras, etc.

• Si le disco gira pero no se oye nada, verifique la conexión de los cables. Si todo está en orden, verifique el amplificador o el receptor.

• Si salta el disco compacto, verifique el disco (suciedad o rascaduras).

No suponga que el reproductor tiene defecto. Muchos discos compactos se registran fuera de las especificaciones y saltarán en la mayoría o en todos los reproductores. Antes de mandar el aparato para reparación, trate de reproducir un disco del cual se sabe que es perfecto.

ATTENTION

N’utilisez pas cet appareil à des températures en-dessous de 5° C/41° F ou au-dessus de 35° C/95° F.

L’appareil ne doit pas être exposé à l’égouttement ou aux

éclaboussures; aucun objet rempli de liquide telle qu’une vase ne devrait être placé sur celui-ci.

Placez l’appareil dans un lieu propre et sec.

Ne mettez pas l’appareil dans un lieu instable.

BRANCHEMENTS

1. Par l’intermédiaire des câbles inclus, enfichez une extrémité dans le connecteur du REMOTE CONTROL – COMMANDE A DISTANCE (31) sur le côté 2 et l’autre extrémité dans le connecteur du MAIN UNIT – APPAREIL

PRINCIPAL (32) également sur le côté 2. Répétez sur le côté 1.

** OBSERVATION IMPORTANTE: VOUS DEVEZ BRANCHER LE COTE 1

SUR LA COMMANDE A DISTANCE DU COTE 1 DE L’APPAREIL

PRINCIPAL ET LE COTE 2 SUR LA COMMANDE A DISTANCE DU

COTE 2 DE L’APPAREIL PRINCIPAL. SI VOUS LES CROISEZ (par exemple, la commande à distance sur le côté sur l’appareil principal sur le côté 2), le CD-2000X NE MARCHERA PAS.

2. Enfichez une extrémité d’un jeu de connecteurs RCA dans chacun des jacks de LINE OUTPUT - SORTIE SECTEUR (33).

3. Enfichez l’autre extrémité des connecteurs RCA dans tout jack de secteur disponible sur votre mélangeur. Si vous faites jouer le

CD-2000X à travers un récepteur, vous pouvez brancher les connecteurs RCA dans les jacks d’entrée CD ou AUX sur votre récepteur. S’il n’y a pas d’entrées CD ou AUX, utilisez n’importe quelles entrées de secteur (pas phono).

DESCRIPTIONS FONCTIONNELLES

ANTI-SHOCK BUFFER MEMORY: Ayant 12 secondes de mémoire tampon anti-choc, chaque côté du lecteur DC mémorise 6 secondes de lecture future pour assurer que tout movement brusque de l’appareil n’interrompera pas la musique.

POWER: Après avoir vérifié que le VOLTAGE SELECTOR – SELECTEUR

DE TENSION (23) sur le panneau arrière est convenablement positionné, enfichez l’appareil et appuyez sur la touche POWER –

PUISSANCE (21). L’appareil se mettra en marche. Si vous pressez cette touche une seconde fois, l’appareil s’éteindra.

DISC TRAY – PLATEAU A DISQUE: Le DISC TRAY – PLATEAU A DISQUE

(20) contient le disque durant le chargement, le déchargement et la lecture.

Lorsque vous pressez la touche OPEN/CLOSE – OUVRIR/FERMER (20) du plateau, ce dernier s’ouvrira ou se fermera. Le PLATEAU A DISQUE (20) peut contenir des disques de 12 cm et de 8 cm. Veuillez notez que le plateau ne s’ouvrira pas si le CD-2000X se trouve en lecture.

OPEN/CLOSE BUTTON: Pressez la touche OPEN/CLOSE – OUVRIR/

FERMER (7) pour charger ou enlever un DC du PLATEAU A DISQUE (20).

DISPLAY: Le DISPLAY – ECRAN (5) montre le numéro de la piste, la hauteur du son, la référence single-auto cue, continue (pour une lecture continue) et 3 affichages de temps différents. Ces derniers sont le temps écoulé sur la piste, le temps restant sur le disque et le temps restant sur la piste. Le temps est mesuré en minutes, secondes et trames. Il montre également le nombre de battements par minute de la piste. La touche BPM/PITCH (37) vous permet de choisir ce que vous voulez afficher, soit le PITCH PERCENTAGE –

POURCENTAGE DE LA HAUTEUR soit le BPM.

PLAYBACK DISPLAY: La fonction PLAYBACK DISPLAY – AFFICHAGE

DE LECTURE (6) montre le temps restant pour la lecture et clignote lentement lorsqu’il reste 30 secondes sur la piste. Le PLAYBACK

DISPLAY (6) clignote rapidement lorsqu’il reste 15 secondes sur la piste.

PLAY/PAUSE: Chaque appui sur la touche PLAY/PAUSE – LECTURE/

PAUSE (17) produit un changement de l’opération de lecture à pause ou de pause à lecture.

TRACK SKIP: Les touches TRACK SKIP – SAUTER DE PISTE (13) vous permettent de choisir la piste à écouter.

SEARCH BUTTONS: Les touches SEARCH – RECHERCHE (28) s’utilisent pour aller en avant ou en arrière dans le mode lecture ou pause. Voir la section sur INSTRUCTIONS CUE pour de plus amples informations.

JOG WHEEL: La JOG WHEEL – ROUE PAS-A-PAS (9) a deux fonctions.

Utilisez la JOG WHEEL (9) pour faire des réglages précis dans le mode de pause. Utilisez la JOG WHEEL (9) pour adapter la hauteur du son pour obtenir une synchronisation précise dans le mode de lecture, pour le grattement et les réglages des paramètres référence et effets.

STOP: La touche STOP – ARRET (4) mettra fin à la lecture du disque compacte.

TIME: La touche TIME – TEMPS (2) fait commuter l’affichage du temps entre trois choix disponibles énumérés sous DISPLAY – ECRAN.

FLY CUE: La fonction FLY CUE (10A) vous permet d’établir des points de référence à l’instant même avec une pression de la touche. En ayant l’appareil en mode de lecture (la DEL lecture/pause est verte), pressez

FLY CUE (10A) au point où vous voulez établir le point de référence

(l’appareil poursuivra la lecture). Maintenant le point de référence est mémorisé. Pressez la touche CUE (16) pour revenir au point de référence mémorisée. Pressez la touche PLAY/PAUSE (17) et l’appareil commencera à jouer à partir du l’endroit choisi.

CUE: En ayant l’appareil dans le mode de lecture (la DEL de lecture/pause est verte) et après avoir mémorisé le point de référence, le fait de pressez la touche CUE (16) causera le lecteur DC de passer au mode de pause (la DEL de lecture/pause est verte mais clignote) au point de référence mémorisé (la DEL de référence est jaune). Si vous tenez la touche de référence, la fonction de référence passe à PREVIEW (ce qui vous permet d’écouter la musique à n’importe quel cadence que vous ajustez en tenant le doigt sur cette touche). Si vous libérez la

touche de référence, vous revenez au point de référence préétabli.

SEAMLESS LOOP: Après avoir mémorisé un point de référence, le fait de presser la touche B/EXIT (11) dans le mode de lecture, répète la partie entre le point de référence et le point où la touche B/EXIT (11) a

été pressée. Pressez la touche B/EXIT (11) de nouveau ou mettez la lecture sur pause pour QUITTER la lecture répétée.

SINGLE-AUTO CUE/CONTINUOUS: Le fait de presser la touche

SINGLE-AUTO CUE/CONTINUOUS (3) active la fonction AUTO CUE.

Cette fonction met l’appareil en pause au début de la lecture de la piste suivante et vous permet de commencer la lecture immédiatement du début de la musique sans espace blanc (qui existe au début de chaque piste). Le fait de presser la touche SINGLE-AUTO CUE/CONTINUOUS

(3) une seconde fois active la fonction CONTINUOUS ce qui fait jouer l’appareil en continu (après la dernière piste, l’appareil reviendra sur la première piste du disque et continuera à jouer). Si vous pressez la touche SINGLE-AUTO CUE/CONTINUOUS (3) une troisième fois désactivera la fonction CONTINUOUS.

ROBO START: Pressez la touche ROBO START (1) pour activer cette fonction (la touche clignotera). Utilisez ROBO START dans le MODE

SINGLE-AUTO CUE pour alterner la lecture entre les deux côtés du lecteur DC (une piste d’un côté, puis une piste de l’autre côté). Voir les

Instructions pour Robo Start pour de plus amples instructions.

TOUCHES DE 4%, 12% et 24%: Utilisez les touches de 4%, 12% et 24%

(14) pour assigner le pourcentage qu’aura la glissière de commande de la hauteur. La touche de 4% assignera +/-4% à la glissière; la touche de

12%, assignera 12% à la glissière, et la touche de 24%, 24%. Le PITCH

– HAUTEUR DE SON (18) doit se trouver sur ON pour que les touches

(14) de 4, 12, et 24% puissent marcher.

PITCH: Le fait de presser la touche PITCH (18) active le PITCH

CONTROL – COMMANDE DE LA HAUTEUR (15). La hauteur de son du

D C changera selon la position de cette touche (15).

PITCH BEND BUTTONS: Le fait de presser les touches PITCH BEND

(29) augmentera automatiquement la hauteur de son de jusqu’à 4% ou la réduira de 4%.

DIGITAL OUTPUT JACK – JACK DE SORTIE NUMERIQUE: Le fait de brancher n’importe que type de DAT, MD, ou DISQUE DUR ou des rubriques de ce genre qui acceptent des signaux numériques au BNC

OUTPUT CONNECTOR (34) sur le panneau arrière des transports vous permettra d’enregistrer un signal numérique.

La touche EFFECT ON/OFF (19): active ou désactive tout effet.

La touche EFFECT SELECT – SELECTEUR D’EFFET (20): vous permet de choisir un de cinq effets différents:

L’effet ZOOM change le délai de temporisation en tournant la roue pas-

à-pas, ce qui mélange une courte temporisation avec la reproduction.

Cette fonction vous permet de produire le son d’un réacteur avec un seul lecteur de DC.

L’effet FILTRE vous permet de changer la fréquence coupée de la reproduction lorsque la roue pas-à-pas est tournée. Ceci permet au DJ d’extraire et de reproduire certaines parties de la reproduction.

L’effet ECHO ajoute un echo à la musique. Le temps de temporisation peut être ajusté en tournant la roue pas-à-pas à gauche ou à droite.

L’effet REVERSE – RENVERSE fait jouer votre choix musical de l’arrière en avant. Lorsque l’effet est activé, la musique jouera en sens inverse jusqu’à sa libération.

Les paramètres des effets peuvent être ajustés comme suit: 1. Tenir le doigt sur la touche EFFECT ON/OFF (19) pendant 3 secondes (l’écran

LCD indiquera le paramètre); 2. Utiliser la JOG WHEEL (9) pour changer le paramètre et 3. Presser la touche ON/OFF (19) pour revenir au mode normal.

Lorsque vous appuyez sur la touche EFFECT SELECT (20), la LED

EFFECT (21) pour l’effet particulier s’allumera (Grattement = 1, Zoom =

2, Filtre = 3, Echo = 4, Sens inverse = 5). Si vous tenez le doigt sur la touche EFFECT SELECT (20) en continue pendant 3 secondes ou plus, ceci MAINTIENDRA les paramètres jusqu’à ce que vous pressiez la touche de nouveau pour libérer l’effet.

La touche BRAKE – FREIN (22) simule l’effet d’un tourne-disque freinant jusqu’à l’arrêt. Les paramètres de freinage peuvent être ajustés en appuyant et tenant le doigt sur cette touche FREIN (22) pendant 3 secondes et en utilisant la JOG WHEEL (9) pour régler.

La touche MASTER TEMPO (23) vous permet de maintenir la hauteur de la musique même si le rhythme change. Vous pouvez faire varier le battement sans changer la tonalité vocale ou instrumentale.

SAMPLER (24): Vous pouvez créer un échantillon en créant d’abord une boucle. Etablissez le point de référence de départ soit avec la JOG

WHEEL (9) ou la touche FLYE CUE (10). Puis, établissez votre point de fin de boucle à l’aide de la touche B/EXIT (11). Maintenant que la boucle est créée, appuyez sur la touche SAMPLER (24). Maintenant l’échantillon est créé. Pour reproduire votre échantillon durant la performance, appuyez sur la touche SAMPLER (24). Appuyez de

Page 13 nouveau pour arrêter la reproduction de l’échantillon.

Pour effacer l’échantillon, il suffit de garder le doigt sur la touche STOP

(4) pendant 3 secondes ou plus.

*Remarque: Votre échantillon restera dans la mémoire jusqu’à ce que vous l’effaciez ou vous produisiez un nouvel échantillon. Vous pouvez changer les DCs et toutefois utiliser l’échantillon créé avant.

RELOOP/STUTTER (12): Cette fonction s’utilise pour la reproduction répétée à partir du point de référence, en répétant une boucle établie antérieurement. La fonction “Reloop” ramène automatiquement la musique au point de référence et jouera la boucle jusqu’à sa libération avec la touche CUE B/EXIT (11). Le disque compact commence à jouer immédiatement à partir des points de référence établis antérieurement.

TOUCHES CUE: L’appareil CD-2000X vous permet d’établir jusqu’à 5 points de référence différents à l’aide des touches CUE (25). Pour

établir chaque point de référence individuel, appuyez sur la touche

MEMO (26), puis sur une touche de référence (Cue 1-5). Vous pouvez

établir un maximum de 5 points de référence. Lorsque la musique joue, et vous voulez qu’elle saute à un des points de référence, il suffit de presser cette touche de référence particulière (Cue 1-5) et la musique passera automatiquement à ce point.

TOUCHE BOP: Lorsque vous établissez un point de référence à l’aide de la touche CUE (16) ou FLY CUE (10A), vous pouvez revenir à ce point de référence à tout moment durant la performance musicale simplement en appuyant sur la touche BOP (7). La musique retournera automatiquement à ce point.

TOUCHE BPM/PITCH: La touche BPM/PITCH (37) vous permet de régler les battements par minute de la musique soit automatiquement soit manuellement. Appuyez sur la touche BPM/PITCH (37) pour activer la commande BPM automatique. Pour passer au fonctionnement manuel, appuyez et gardez le doigt sur la touche BPM/PITCH (37) pendant 3 secondes. Puis, tapez la touche pour obtenir le rhythme de votre choix et la musique s’ajustera automatiquement à cette cadence.

INSTRUCTIONS DE FONCTIONNEMENT

1. Assurez-vous que le VOLTAGE SELECTOR – SELECTEUR DE

TENSION (30) sur le panneau arrière, se trouve sur la tension correcte.

Enfichez l’appareil et pressez la touche POWER – PUISSANCE (21).

L’appareil se mettra en marche. Le fait de presser la touche POWER

(21) une seconde fois, éteindra l’appareil.

2. Pressez la touche OPEN/CLOSE (27), placez un disque compacte sur le PLATEAU A DISQUE (20) et pressez de nouveau la touche OPEN/

CLOSE (27). Le plateau entrera dans l’appareil.

3. Pressez les touches TRACK SKIP+10 (13) pour choisir la piste que vous voulez écouter.

4. Pressez la touche PLAY/PAUSE (17) et l’appareil commencera à jouer immédiatement.

INSTRUCTIONS CUE

Pour utiliser la fonction FLY CUE (10A) pour établir un point de référence, suivez les instructions suivantes:

1. En ayant l’appareil dans le mode de lecture (la DEL lecture/pause est verte), pressez FLY CUE (10A) au point où vous voulez établir le point de référence (l’appareil continuera à jouer). Maintenant le point de référence est mémorisée. Pressez la touche CUE (16) pour revenir au point de référence mémorisée. Pressez la touche PLAY/PAUSE (17) et l’appareil jouera immédiatement à partir du lieu choisi.

2. Pressez la touche FLY CUE (10B) pour mémoriser un point de référence pendant que la musique joue. Vous pouvez utiliser FLY CUE

(10B) pour créer une boucle en utilisant FLY CUE (10B) et la touche B/

EXIT (11).

ET/OU

1. Pour mémoriser le lieu où vous voulez commencer la musique, choisissez la piste désirée, puis pressez la touche PLAY/PAUSE (17) de sorte que l’appareil passe au mode de lecture (la DEL lecture/pause est verte). Ecoutez le disque compacte et quand il s’approche du point approximatif, pressez PLAY/PAUSE (17) de sorte que l’appareil passe au mode de pause (la DEL de lecture/pause est verte mais clignote).

Déplacez la JOG WHEEL (9) au lieu précis d’où vous voulez com mencer la musique et pressez la touche PLAY/PAUSE (17) pour mémoriser le point de référence. Pressez la touche CUE (16) pour revenir au point de référence mémorisé. Pressez la touche PLAY/

PAUSE (17) et l’appareil commencera à jouer immédiatement à partir du lieu choisi.

2. Pour ajuster un point de référence avec précision, pausez au point de référence mémorisé (la DEL cue brillera et la DEL de lecture/pause clignotera), puis utilisez le JOG WHEEL (9) pour balayer trame par trame (1/75 ème d’une seconde) jusqu’au point d’où vous voulez commencer la musique (la DEL cue clignotera durant le balayage).

Pressez PLAY/PAUSE (17) pour mémoriser le nouveau point de référence.

REMARQUE: Durant le réglage de précision, il y aura un effet de tonalité cadencée (pour vous aider à trouver le rhythme). Cet effet s’arrêtera quand vous pressez PLAY/PAUSE (17) pour mémoriser le point de référence.

Si vous utilisez ROBO START sans SINGLE-AUTO CUE MODE (en

MODE CONTINU ou durant la lecture normale), la lecture alternera automatiquement. Le fait de presser Pause sur le côté qui joue causera la lecture de l’autre côté.

1. Durant la lecture normale, mettez un point de référence sur l’autre côté du lecteur DC.

2. Pressez la touche ROBO START (1) pour activer la fonction ROBO

START (la touche clignotera).

3. Pressez la touche PLAY/PAUSE (17) sur le côté qui joue pour com mencer la lecture à partir du point de référence sur l’autre côté.

• Si le disque ne joue pas, vérifiez si le disque a été chargé convenablement (étiquette en haut). Vérifiez également si le disque ne contient pas trop de saletés, égratignures, etc.

• Si le disque tourne mais il n’y a pas de son, vérifiez le branchement des câbles. S’il n’y a rien d’anormal, contrôlez votre amplificateur ou récepteur.

• Si le disque compacte saute, contrôlez le disque pour la présence de saletés ou d’égratignures. Ne supposez pas que le lecteur DC est défectueux. De nombreux DC sont enregistrés en dehors des spécifications et ils sauteront sur la plupart ou sur tous les lecteurs DC.

Avant d’envoyer l’appareil pour réparation, essayer de jouer un DC dont vous êtes certain qu’il joue convenablement.
