Read 'Before you begin cleaning' instructions on page 9. Fill the clean solution tank with HOOVER Carpet/Upholstery Detergent and hot tap water. Attach the tool to the end of the hose. Turn the deep cleaner ON and pull the trigger to dispense solution. Slowly move the tool back and forth over the carpet. Repeat steps 5-7 as needed. Empty the recovery tank and let it air dry. Rinse the deep cleaner and hose with clear water.

Check the following: No voltage in wall plug - Check the fuse or circuit breaker. Recovery tank full/automatic shut off engaged - Empty the recovery tank. Blockage in tool on end of hose - Remove the tool and check for blockage. Make sure tank lid is on securely - Make sure tank lid is securely locked in position. Solution tank empty - Refill the solution tank according to instructions in Fig. 2-8. Dirty filter screen - Clean screen as shown in Fig. 3-2. Solution tank not firmly in place - Make sure tank is securely locked in position. Speed selector on OFF - Move speed selector to LO or HI. Recovery tank lid not on correctly - Make sure recovery tank lid is on correctly.
