DESCRIPTION
TCR Series is a solid state, low cost, NTC thermistor, temperature control. The set point is selected with
an external potentiometer or Rt. The high power output is available in 6, 10, and 20 amperes and features
ON/OFF zero voltage switching to increase load life and reduce RF interference. The metallized back
mounting surface allows utilization of equipment's metal enclosure as a heat sink. Heat Sink compound is
provided with every unit.
OPERATION
Set Point Control: TCR Series is a single set point NTC thermistor temperature controller. When the
thermistor resistance is high (above the set point), the output to the heater is ON. When the resistance falls
to set point or below, the output turns OFF.
It must be recognized that temperature differential (under and over shoot) is largely due to the system as a
whole. The mass of the system, size of the heaters, location of heaters and sensor all play an important
part. Single set point control is best when there is little or no lag time between heater and sensor, and when
the heater is not oversized.

NOTE: The back mounting surface of the TCR is metallized to provide a method of transferring
heat from the package to a metal mounting surface. Heat sink compound is provided with each unit.

6.1 Operating Temperature: -20°C to +60°C
6.2 Storage Temperature: -40°C to +85°C

IMPORTANT
Note: SSAC Temperature Controls are not designed to serve as primary temperature safety devices. An
independent high temperature limit switch should be incorporated into all designs to prevent property
damage or personal injury due to potential system malfunctions.
