Connect the AC power cord into a live wall outlet.
If the plug of the AC power cord does not match your outlet, do not force it.
Reverse it and try again. This plug is polarized and only fits one way into the wall outlet.
Clock display will show “12:00 ” flashing.
In case you want to reduce the brightness of the display when you are sleeping, you can press the
DIMMER button.

2. Setting the Alarm Time
This set has dual alarms. You may set ALARM 1 to wake you at a certain time, or
ALARM 2 to wake you at a different time, or ALARM 1+2 - both alarms will sound at the time you set.
This feature is useful for a husband & wife waking up at different time or a single person who likes to wake up at different time during weekdays and weekends.
To set ALARM 1, slide the ALARM switch to position 1, the words “ALARM 1” will show in the display.
To set ALARM 2, slide the ALARM switch to position 2, the words “ALARM 2” will show in the display.

NOTE 1: When the ALARM switch is in the ALARM 1+2 position, you can’t set the
ALARM time.
NOTE 2: If you want this set to wake you up in the morning, the letters “PM” should not show on alarm time (when pressing ALARM SET button), this means
AM (morning time). To change PM to AM time, advance the clock time 12 hours. To have this set wake you up, slide the BUZZER/AUTO/OFF/ON switch to AUTO or BUZZER position. Auto position will wake you up to CD or RADIO. Buzzer position will have a sound buzzer to wake you up.
NOTE 3: To wake to ALARM 1 time, slide ALARM switch to position 1.
To wake to ALARM 2 time, slide ALARM switch to position 2.
To wake to both times, slide ALARM switch to position 1+2.

Lift either side of the CD DOOR to open it and place a CD in the
CD compartment. The label side of the CD should face upward.

Close the CD DOO R by pushing it down. The CD display will show the total track numbers of the disc.

6. Playing CD in programmed or random order
1. Programmed Play
You can make a program of up to 20 tracks in the order you want them to be played.

1. Slide the BUZZER/AUTO/OFF/ON switch to ON position and the FM/AM/CD FUNCTION switch to CD position. Wait until the total track number shows in the display and the CD disc is not rotating.
2. Press the PROGRAM/REPEAT button. The letters “PROG” will show and two zeros “ ” will flash.
3. Press SKIP/SEARCH buttons or to select the tracks you want to program in the order you want.
4. Press the PROGRAM/REPEAT button to confirm. The two zeros “ ” will flash for your next selection of the track.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4. You can program up to 20 tracks.
6. Press to start programmed play. The letters “PROG” will show in the display.
To change the current program
Just create a new program following the programming procedure.

To cancel Programmed Play
Press the STOP button to stop the programmed play. The programmed memory will be lost only when the BUZZER/AUTO/OFF/ON switch is slided to OFF position or the CD door is opened.

To play the songs in random order
During play or in STOP mode, press the CD RANDOM button, the letters “RAND” will show in the display, and the set will play all the tracks in random order.
Press SKIP/SEARCH button to skip to the next random song.

Tune into the station you prefer using the TUNING control. Adjust for the clearest sound. The display will show you the frequency of the station tuned in. This is useful when you know the station’s frequency.

NOTE:
This set uses an analog (rotary) tuner with a digital display. The digital display is very useful when locating your favorite station and also assists you to pinpoint the exact tuning frequency. This set does not have radio memory presets.
Remember to slide the BUZZER/AUTO/OFF/ON switch to BUZZER or AUTO position after listening, so that the buzzer alarm, CD music or radio will wake you up at your preset time. Make sure the volume control is adjusted loud enough to wake you up. If you want to listen to the radio for a short time, simply press the sleep button. See page 12 for full sleep instructions.

To improve broadcast reception
Fully stretch out the FM ANTENNA for better FM reception.
Reorient the player itself for better AM reception.
Or locate the set near a window.

To listen without disturbing others
Connect your headphones (optional - not included) into the PHONES jack at the right side of the set. The speakers will automatically be silenced. Remember to unplug the headphones if you want the set to wake you up in the morning.
To use battery backup
Install a 9V battery for Clock backup, so that if your home power is momentarily off due to a power outage, you will not have to set up the time & alarm settings.
NOTE: During power outages the CLOCK display will not show the time but the time will be kept in memory and will reappear when power is restored.

10. Snooze and Sleep functions
When alarm or music comes on

1. To sleep extra 7 minutes
Just press the SNOOZE button, the alarm or music will stop and come on after 7 minutes.

Going to Sleep with CD music
The SLEEP control will allow the set to play 59 minutes (or 1 hour and 59 minutes) before the set turns itself off.
1. Slide the FM/AM/CD switch to CD position.
2. Slide the BUZZER/AUTO/OFF/ON switch to BUZZER or AUTO position.
3. Press the SLEEP button, the display will show 59 minutes and the word “SLEEP”, the CD will start to play.
4. Holding the SLEEP and MINUTE buttons down, the display will count down.
Release the buttons when the display shows your desired amount of time you want the CD to play before shutting itself off.
5. Pressing the SLEEP and HOUR buttons simultaneously down, will change the sleep time to 1 hour and 59 minutes. You may reduce the sleep time by following the above Step 4.
6. To turn the CD off before the playing time has expired, simply press the ALARM/
SLEEP/OFF button.
Going to Sleep with RADIO
The SLEEP control will allow the set to play 59 minutes (or 1 hour and 59 minutes) before the set turns itself off.
1. Slide the FM/AM/CD switch to AM or FM position.
2. Slide the BUZZER/AUTO/OFF/ON switch to BUZZER or AUTO position.
3. Press the SLEEP button, the display will show 59 minutes and the word “SLEEP”, the RADIO will start to play.

Precautions
On safety
•
As the laser beam used in the CD player section is harmful to the eyes, do not attempt to disassemble the casing. Refer servicing to qualified personnel only.
•
Should any solid object or liquid fall into the player, unplug the player, and have it chec ked by qualified per sonnel before operating it any further.
On power sources
•
For battery backup, you may use a 9V battery (optional), so that you will not have to re-set the clock every time you disconnect the power.
•
The nameplate indicating operating voltage, power consumption, etc. is located at the bottom of the set.
On placement
•
Do not leave the player in a location near heat source, or in a place subject to direct sunlight, excessive dust or mechanical shock or vibration.
•
Do not place the player on an inclined or unstable place.
•
Do not place anything within 1 inch of the back of the cabinet. The ventilation holes must be unobstructed for the player to operate properly and prolong the life of its components.
•
Since a strong magnet is used for the speakers, keep personal credit cards us ing magnetic coding or s pringwound watches away from the player to prevent possible damage from the magnet.
On operation
•
If the player is brought directly from a cold to a warm location, or is placed in a v ery damp room, moisture may condense on the lens inside the CD player section. Should this occur, the player will not operate properly. In this case, remove the CD and wait about an hour for the moisture to evaporate.
•
This CD player is designed to be played on a stable no vibration position. If you bump the set during CD play, the music will stop or skip for a few seconds. This is normal for this type of player.
•

Precautions (continued)
Notes on CDs
Before playing, clean the CD with a cleaning cloth. Wipe the CD from the center out.
Cleaning the lens
If the lens becomes dirty, it may cause a skipping of sound during CD operation.
Clean with a commercially available lens cleaner blower or a cotton swab.

Do not use solvents such as benzine, thinner, c ommercially available cleaners or anti-static spray intended for vinyl LPs.
Do not expose the CD to direct sunlight or heat sources such as hot air ducts, nor leave it in a car parked in direct sunlight as there can be a considerable rise in temperature inside the car.
Do not stick paper or sticker on the
CD, nor scratch the surface of the CD.
After playing, store the CD in its case.
If there is a scratch, dirt or fingerprints on the CD, it may cause tracking error.
Cleaning the cabinet
Clean the cabinet, panel and controls with a soft cloth slightly moistened with a mild detergent solution. Do not use any type of abrasive pad, scouring powder, or solvent, such as alcohol or benzine.

Trouble Shooting
Problem
The power is not on.
There is no sound.
Alarm does not come on in the morning.
“ ”appears in the display even when a CD is in place.
CD does not play.
The sound drops out.
The sound is weak or has poor quality.
Remedy
•
Connect the AC power cord to a wall outlet securely. Make sure that outlet has power.
•
Make sure the FUNCTION switch is at the right position as you want.
•
Adjust the volume.
•
Unplug the headphones when lis tening through speakers.
•
AM or PM is not set correctly. Is alarm time set in AM range (“PM” should disappear from the display)?
•
BUZZER/AUTO/OFF/ON switch is not set to the proper position. Does the “ALARM” show in the display?
•
Insert the CD with the label side up.
•
Make sure that the CD compartment is closed.
•
Place the CD with the label side up.
•
CD play is paused, press
again.
•
Clean the CD or try another compact CD, this set will not play MP3 or WMA discs.
Replac e the disc ( this set will not play damaged or scratched CDs), or buy a disc repair polisher to repair it yourself.
•
Take out the CD and leave the CD door open for about an hour to dry moisture condensation.
•
Make sure the FM/AM/CD switch is at CD position.
•

During the initial 90 day period after original purchase, we will service or exchange, at no charge, the set that is returned to LENOXX ELECTRONICS CORP. After the initial 90 day period expires, and for a period of 12 months from original purchase, we will repair the unit covering any part(s) that need to be replaced at no charge, but will charge for the cost of labor, return postage paid by Lenoxx.
This warranty does not apply to any products which have been subject to misuse, neglect or accident. This warranty does not cover broken cord or cabinet. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES
WILL LENOXX ELECTRONICS CORP. BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL
DAMAGES. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you.
