CW600E - Enclosed In-Wall System
In-wall speakers confront special acoustic challenges. Limited interior space confines their effective enclosure volume, while comparatively flimsy partition construction is no substitute for a true loudspeaker cabinet. There’s rarely enough in-wall volume for real bass extension, and the same factor dooms most in-walls to being both unusually power hungry and dynamically limited.
For the PSB CustomSound premium in-wall system, the CW600E, the solution is a design that utilizes its own fully engineered loudspeaker enclosure. Derived from the highly acclaimed Platinum
T6 tower, the CW600E incorporates a tall, narrow, highly braced, fully enclosed, wooden enclosure just four inches deep that fits fully within standard, 16-inch-studded construction. The CW600E’s dual 6 1/2-inch (165mm) high-power woofers employ incredibly stiff fiberglass cones and higher mass to optimize them to their enclosure volume. The same MTM (midrange-tweeter-midrange) array found in the acclaimed PSB Platinum T6 tower, and a specially optimized crossover match system balance to the PSB Platinum Series while extending bass response. The result is superb, “Platinumclass” clarity and dynamics, with a highly dispersive “sweet spot” so wide and tall that even large home-theater audiences will enjoy maximum definition of movie sound and music alike. A “dog-leg” mounting scheme assures fast, fool-proof and easy mounting. The
PSB CustomSound CW600E design finally settles the longstanding conflict between sound and design.

Installation Notes
• The CW600E requires a full width stud bay
clear of any obstructions, pipes, wires, etc.
• Optimum mounting should place the tweeter
as close to ear level as possible.
• System should be vertical as shown.
• Wire connections are on bottom of system.
The system may be inverted if needed.
• Lift into aperture gently with two people if
possible. (System is heavy!)
• Tighten 12 “dog leg” screws with a firm
torque setting. Do not over tighten!
• Midrange and treble switches can be
adjusted to suit room acoustics and personal
taste.
• Due to the CW600E system being fully
enclosed no in-wall accoustic treatment is
required.
• System may be painted. Scuffing and
priming recommended.
• See manual for more installation hints.
