INTRODUCTION
CAUTION: When using telephone equipment, there are basic safety
instructions that should always be followed. Refer to the IMPORTANT
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS provided with this product and save them for
future reference.
1. Push the handset hook up and out with your
thumb, turn it over, and replace it in the slot on
the base.
T/P DIAL MODE
CHAIN DIALING
This adjustment allows you to select tone (touch-tone) or pulse (rotary) dialing.
This process allows you to dial a succession of stored numbers from separate
memory locations. This is useful when you must dial several sequences of numbers,
such as with frequent calls via a telephone company long distance provider.
1. Press the options button until SET OR appears.
2. Plug one end of the straight telephone line cord
into the jack on the bottom of the base.
2. Press the (+) button until T/P DIAL MODE appears in the display.
3. Press the options button to show the current dial mode. The default is set to tone.

To immediately exit the setup mode, select the EXIT SETUP menu and press the
options button.

5. Slip the mounting holes (on the bottom of the
base) over the wall plate posts and firmly slide the
unit down into place.

HANDSET LAYOUT
Your Caller ID phone stores and displays specific information, provided by your local
telephone company, to subscribers of Caller ID or similar caller identification services.
Your Caller ID phone enables you to:
• Identify callers before you answer the phone.
• View the time and date of each incoming call.
• Record up to 50 Caller ID messages sequentially.

REMINDER: The time and date is programmed automatically when the first
Caller ID record is successfully received after the unit is setup.
IMPORTANT: In order to use all the features of this unit, you must subscribe to the
standard Name/Number Caller ID Service or Call Waiting Caller ID Service
available from your local telephone company. To know who is calling while you are
on the phone, you must subscribe to Call Waiting Caller ID Service.

TELEPHONE JACK REQUIREMENTS
To use this phone, you need an RJ11C type modular
telephone jack, which might look like the one pictured
here, installed in your home. If you don’t have a modular
jack, call your local phone company to find out how to get

IMPORTANT INSTALLATION INFORMATION
1 Notification to the Local Telephone Company
On the bottom of this equipment is a label indicating, among other information, the US number
and Ringer Equivalence Number (REN) for the equipment. You must, upon request, provide this
information to your telephone company.
The REN is useful in determining the number of devices you may connect to your telephone line
and still have all of these devices ring when your telephone number is called. In most (but not all)
areas, the sum of the RENs of all devices connected to one line should not exceed 5. To be certain of
the number of devices you may connect to your line as determined by the REN, you should contact
your local telephone company.
A plug and jack used to connect this equipment to the premises wiring and telephone network
must comply with the applicable FCC Part 68 rules and requirements adopted by the ACTA. A
compliant telephone cord and modular plug is provided with this product. It is designed to be
connected to a compatible modular jack that is also compliant. See installation instructions for
details.
Notes
•
This equipment may not be used on coin service provided by the telephone company.
•
Party lines are subject to state tariffs, and therefore, you may not be able to use your own
telephone equipment if you are on a party line. Check with your local telephone company.
•
Notice must be given to the telephone company upon permanent disconnection of your
telephone from your line.
•
If your home has specially wired alarm equipment connected to the telephone line, ensure the
installation of this product does not disable your alarm equipment. If you have questions about
what will disable alarm equipment, consult your telephone company or a qualified installer.
2 Rights of the Telephone Company
Should your equipment cause trouble on your line which may harm the telephone network, the
telephone company shall, where practicable, notify you that temporary discontinuance of service
may be required. Where prior notice is not practicable and the circumstances warrant such action,
the telephone company may temporarily discontinue service immediately. In case of such
temporary discontinuance, the telephone company must: (1) promptly notify you of such
temporary discontinuance; (2) afford you the opportunity to correct the situation; and (3) inform
you of your right to bring a complaint to the Commission pursuant to procedures set forth in
Subpart E of Part 68, FCC Rules and Regulations.

IMPORTANT: Do not plug the telephone into the wall jack while setting up the Caller
ID menu because an incoming call may invalidate the information not yet saved.

• After you hear the Call Waiting tone, press and release the flash button. The first
call is placed on hold while the second call can be answered.
If you want to call the last number you dialed again (up to 32 digits), use the
redial feature.
To return to your first call and put the second call on hold:

INSTALLING THE BATTERIES
IMPORTANT: You will have approximately 60 seconds to replace the
batteries before the memories stored in the handset are lost. Please read
the instructions before replacing the batteries and have the batteries ready
to be inserted beforehand. As a precaution, you may want to write down
any stored information you do not want erased.
Your Caller ID phone uses 4 AA-size alkaline batteries for receiving and storing Caller
ID records and for the numbers you use for memory dialing.
1. If both the straight and coiled line cords are already connected, disconnect them
from the base unit. Place the handset aside.
2. Use a ballpoint pen or other tool to open the battery compartment door.
3. Insert 4 AA-size alkaline batteries (not included) as shown on the diagram inside
the compartment.

5. Re-attach the line cords to the unit and check your memory locations. If installation takes

LOCAL AREA CODE
The telephone uses the programmed area code to determine the
number format to display when a valid Caller ID signal is received.
It is also used for the Dialback feature.
1. Press the options button. SET OR appears in the display.
2. Press the (+) button until LOCAL AREA CODE:_ _ _ appears in the
display.
3. To enter or change the area code, press the options button. The
display shows the area code stored in memory. The left-most digit, or
a minus sign (-) flashes, indicating the unit is ready to accept the area
code entry.
4. Press (-) and select a number from 9-0 for the first digit.

CONNECTING THE TELEPHONE LINE
1. Plug the coiled cord into the jack on the handset.
2. Plug the long straight line cord into a modular wall telephone jack.
3. Set the RINGER switch on the base to HI.
= HI - Sound will be loudest.
= LOW - Sound will be lower.
= OFF - Telephone will not ring.
4. Place the handset in the cradle.
NOTE: The unit is properly installed if you pick up the handset and hear the
dial tone. Otherwise, recheck all the installation steps.

SUMMARY SCREEN
The Summary Screen shows the current time, current date, and number of new calls
to be reviewed. It displays until any button is pressed. Within 60 seconds of
receiving a new call, the Summary Screen displays.
NOTE: The number of new calls shows in the display until all new calls are
reviewed.
RECEIVING AND STORING CID RECORDS
This unit receives and displays CID information transmitted by your local phone company.
This information can include the phone number, date, and time; or the name, phone
number, date, and time. The unit stores up to 50 call records for later review. When the
memory is full, a new call record automatically replaces the oldest call record in memory.
NEW shows in the display for call records received which have not been reviewed.
This product may be serviced only by the manufacturer or its authorized service
agents. Changes or modifications not expressly approved by ATLINKS USA, Inc.

REGIONAL AREA CODES FOR 10-DIGIT DIALING
REVIEWING NUMBERS STORED IN MEMORY
Like the Local Area Code, the telephone uses the programmed area codes to
determine the number format to display when a valid Caller ID signal is received.
Calls that match any of the programmed regional area codes are displayed as 10
digits. This is helpful in areas that have multiple or overlapping area codes and
require 10-digit dialing.

(RAC#1) are entered. A total of 6 sets of Regional Area Codes may be entered.
7. Press the options button to store the setting and return to the REGIONAL
AREA CODE display.
8. Press dial to exit.

the display by pressing the dial button.
2. Press the dial button and the display shows PICKUP or ADJ. A 10 second timer
also starts in the upper right side of the display, letting you know the time
remaining until the unit returns to the Summary Screen. If you adjust the number
to be dialed, the timer automatically resets itself.
3. To adjust the phone number, press the dial button. For instance, a 7-digit
local number sometimes cannot be dialed because it requires a 10-digit or
11-digit format. Press the dial button repeatedly to scroll through the 7, 10,
and 11-digit numbers.
3. Press 0-9 for the memory location. The display flashes if the memory location is
occupied. Press either review ( or ) button to select a different location. The
display flashes if the memory location is occupied.
7-digits:

4. Press the store button again to confirm.

5. Press the redial button, and then press the store button again.

• If you see a number with 11 digits (i.e. 1-234-555-1234), then the call received was not
from your area code.

4. To dial the displayed number, pick up the handset before the timer reaches 0.

STORING A PAUSE IN MEMORY
3. Press the options button to show the current language setting. The default is English.
The redial button has dual functionality. It becomes a pause button if the store
button is pressed first. It is valid only when storing a number into memory. Use the
redial button to insert a pause when a delay is needed in an automatic dialing
sequence. For example, when you must dial a 9 to get an outside line, or when you
enter codes to access your long distance company.
IF YOU DID NOT PROGRAM YOUR LOCAL AREA CODE IN THE SETUP MENU
This adjustment allows you to adjust the contrast and viewing angle of the display.
You may need to adjust the length of the pause. It can be adjusted from 1 to 9 seconds.
The default setting is 4 seconds.
NOTE: IF PICKUP PHONE shows on the display, no other changes to the
number can be made. The information sent from the telephone company is
known to be a valid number to dial back (available only in limited areas). Once
you pickup the phone, the number is automatically dialed.
4. Press the (+) or (-) button to change the language.
5. Press options to store the language and return to the CID LANGUAGE display.
SELECT CONTRAST
1. Press the options button until SET OR appears.
1. Pickup the handset.
2. Press the (+) button until SELECT CONTRAST appears in the display.
2. Press the store button.
3. Press the options button to show the current contrast setting. There are 5 levels
of contrast, with the default set to 3.
3. Press the redial button.
4. To decrease the contrast, press (-). To increase the contrast, press (+).
4. Press 1-9 (1 = 1 second, 2 = 2 seconds, etc.)
5. Press the options button to store the contrast setting and return to the
SELECT CONTRAST display.
5. Press store again.
6. Press the flash button or the hook switch to exit.
1. Use the (+) and (-) buttons to display the number you want to dial. You will
only see 10-digit numbers (i.e. 234-555-1234).
Provide you with a new or, at our option, a refurbished unit. The exchange unit is under
warranty for the remainder of the original product’s warranty period.

This setting allows you to display Caller ID messages in English, French or Spanish.

If you subscribe to Call Waiting Caller ID Service,
this icon flashes when you receive a call while you are
on the phone.

3. Press the memory location (0-9) to be erased.
The incoming call does not have Caller ID service or
their service area is not linked to yours. If UNKNOWN
CALLER appears along with a calling number, the name
information for that number is not available.
1. Press dial button while the handset is still in the cradle.
4. Press the (-) button, and select a number from 9-0 for the first digit of the
area code.

If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be
determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the
interference by one or more of the following measures:

Repeat the storage sequence above. The new number replaces the old number at
the memory location.
IMPORTANT: If you’re not going to use the telephone for more than 30 days,
remove the batteries because they can leak and damage the unit.

device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable
protection against harmful interference in a residential installation.

Connect the telecommunications equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that

USING TEMPORARY TONE DIALING

Su teléfono con Identificador de Llamadas con Llamada en Espera le Permite:

PARA INSTALAR LAS BATERÍAS

PARA SALIR DE PROGRAMACIÓN
Si usted quiere marcar nuevamente el último número que fue marcado, (hasta 32
dígitos), utilice la función para volver a marcar (“redial”).
1. Levante el auricular.
2. Oprima el botón para volver a marcar (“redial”).
3. El último número que haya sido marcado se vuelve a marcar automáticamente.
PARA USAR LA FUNCIÓN DE MARCADO EN UN TOQUE
Si el último número al que usted llamó está ocupado, usted puede inmediatamente
volver a marcarlo oprimiendo el botón para volver a Marcar (“redial”) sin haber
colgado el auricular.
MEMORIA
Antes de almacenar cualquier número telefónico en la memoria, asegúrese que la
modalidad para marcar esté correctamente programada para el tipo de servicio que
usted tiene. La modalidad preprogramada es por tono (touch-tone), así que si usted
tiene servicio de pulso (rotatorio), usted debe primero cambiar la modalidad para
marcar. Vea “Para Programar la Modalidad para Marcar.” Los siguientes botones

PARA COPIAR MEMORIA DEL IDENTIFICADOR DE LLAMADAS A LA

pantalla el número que usted quiere copiar.
3. Oprima el botón para almacenar (“store”).
4. Oprima 0-9 para la localización de memoria. La pantalla parpadea si esa
localización de memoria está ocupada.
5. Oprima dos veces el botón para almacenar (“STORE”) y reemplazar la información
nueva con la vieja, u oprima cualquiera de los botones para revisar (5 o 6) para
seleccionar una localización vacía. El número es automáticamente almacenado.
6. Oprima el gancho del auricular para salir.
PARA COPIAR MEMORIA DE NÚMEROS QUE SE QUIERAN VOLVER A
MARCAR A LA MEMORIA DEL USUARIO
1. Levante el auricular.
2. Oprima el botón para almacenar (“store”).
3. Oprima 0-9 para la localización de memoria. La pantalla parpadea si esa
localización de memoria está ocupada. Oprima cualquiera de los botones para
revisar ( o ) para seleccionar una localización diferente. La pantalla parpadea
si esa localización de memoria está ocupada.
4. Oprima nuevamente el botón para almacenar (“store”) para confirmar.
5. Oprima el botón para volver a marcar (“redial”) y después oprima nuevamente
el botón para almacenar (“store”).
6. Oprima el botón de servicios (“flash”), o el gancho del auricular para salir.
PARA ALMACENAR UNA PAUSA EN LA MEMORIA
El botón para volver a marcar (“redial”) tiene una función doble. Se convierte en un botón
de pausa cuando el botón para almacenar se oprime primero. Es válido únicamente
cuando se almacena un número en la memoria. Utilice el botón para volver a marcar
(“redial”) para introducir una pausa cuando un retraso es necesario en la secuencia
demarcado . Por ejemplo, cuando usted tiene que marcar un 9 para obtener línea externa,
o cuando usted inscribe un código para tener acceso a su compañía de larga distancia.
Usted puede necesitar ajustar la duración de la pausa. Puede ser ajustada de 1 a 9
segundos. La programación de fábrica es de 4 segundos.

4. Oprima del 1 al 9 (1 = 1 segundo, 2 = 2 segundos, etc.)

MARCADO EN CADENA
Este proceso le permite marcar una sucesión de números almacenados en localizaciones
de memorias diferentes. Esta función es útil cuando usted debe llamar varias secuencias
de números, como llamadas frecuentes a través de su proveedor de larga distancia.

PARA USAR EL BOTÓN DE SERVICIOS (“FLASH”)
Este botón se utiliza para activar servicios especiales que le son disponibles a través de
su compañía telefónica local, como Llamada en Espera. Estos servicios generalmente
requieren una tarifa mensual adicional. Si usted se suscribe a cualquiera de estos
servicios, por favor refiérase a los manuales de instrucciones de la compañía telefónica
para informarse sobre cómo funciona el botón de servicios especiales (“flash”).
Para contestar una llamada entrante durante una conversación telefónica:
• Después de que usted escucha el tono de Llamada en Espera, oprima y suelte el
botón de servicios (“Flash”). La primera llamada se pone en espera para que
usted pueda contestar la segunda llamada.
Para regresar a la llamada original y poner la segunda llamada en espera:
• Oprima y suelte nuevamente el botón de servicios especiales (“Flash”). La
primera llamada continúa mientras que la segunda llamada se pone en espera.
PARA UTILIZAR LA MODALIDAD DE MARCADO POR TONO TEMPORAL
Si usted tiene servicio para marcar por pulso, usted puede cambiar temporalmente su
servicio de pulso a tono. Después de marcar el número telefónico, oprima y suelte el
botón de tono en el aparato. Esta función les permite a los usuarios de servicio
telefónico de Pulso (rotatorio), tener acceso a los servicios para marcar de teclado
(touch-tone) como los servicios bancarios o de larga distancia. Después de que usted
cuelga el auricular, el teléfono regresa automáticamente al servicio rotatorio.

PANTALLA SUMARIO
La pantalla sumario muestra la hora y fecha actual, el número de llamadas nuevas que
deben ser revisadas. Esto se muestra hasta que se oprima cualquier botón. Dentro de
los primeros 60 segundos después de recibir una llamada, la Pantalla Sumario aparece
en la pantalla.
NOTA: El número de llamadas nuevas se muestra en la pantalla hasta que todas
las pantallas nuevas hayan sido revisadas.
PARA RECIBIR Y ALMACENAR ARCHIVOS DEL IDENTIFICADOR DE
LLAMADAS
Este aparato recibe y muestra información transmitida por su compañía telefónica
local. Esta información puede incluir el número telefónico, fecha y hora de la llamada, o
el nombre, el número telefónico, fecha y hora de la llamada. El aparato almacena los
archivos de hasta 50 llamadas para ser revisados más tarde. Cuando la memoria está
llena, la información de una llamada nueva automáticamente reemplaza la información
de la llamada más vieja en la memoria. La indicación de llamada nueva (“NEW”)
aparece en la pantalla para mostrar que hay llamadas que no han sido revisadas.
PARA REVISAR LOS ARCHIVOS DEL IDENTIFICADOR (CID)
• Oprima los botones para revisar (+) o (-) para ver el archivo de llamadas más nuevo.
• Oprima el botón (-) para recorrer los archivos de llamadas desde el más
reciente hasta el más viejo.
• Oprima el botón (+) para recorrer los archivos de llamadas desde el más viejo
hasta el más reciente.
• Cuando todos los archivos han sido revisados, la indicación “COMIENZO/FINAL”
aparece en la pantalla.
PARA BORRAR ARCHIVOS DEL IDENTIFICADOR (CID)
• Para borrar el archivo que se muestra en la pantalla, oprima y suelte el botón
para borrar una vez.
• Para borrar todos los archivos mientras los revisa, oprima y sostenga el botón
para borrar hasta que la indicación “BORRAR TODO?” aparezca en la pantalla.
PARA VOLVER A MARCAR
Cuando esté revisando los archivos del Identificador de Llamadas (Caller ID), usted
puede volver a marcar el número que se muestra en la pantalla, oprimiendo el
botón para marcar (“dial”).
SI USTED PROGRAMÓ SU CLAVE DE AREA EN EL MENÚ DE
PROGRAMACIÓN
1. Oprima los botones para revisar (+) o (-) para mostrar el número que
usted quiera marcar.
• Si usted ve un número de 7 dígitos (por ejemplo, 555-1234), entonces esa
llamada fue recibida desde su misma clave de área. Sin embargo, esto no
garantiza que la llamada sea local.
• Si usted ve un número de 11 dígitos (por ejemplo, 1-234-555-1234), entonces esa
llamada no fue recibida desde su misma clave de área.
2. Oprima el botón para marcar (“dial”) y la pantalla muestra la indicación
“LEVANTE” o “AJUSTE.” Un temporizador empieza a contar el tiempo en la
esquina superior derecha de la pantalla, para hacerle saber el tiempo que falta
antes de que la pantalla vuelva a la Pantalla Sumario. Si usted ajusta el número
que será marcado, el temporizador vuelva a ajustarse solo, automáticamente.
3. Para ajustar el formato del número telefónico, oprima el botón para marcar (“dial”).
Por ejemplo, un número local de 7 dígitos algunas veces no puede marcarse porque
requiere un formato de 10 dígitos o de 11 dígitos. Oprima repetidamente el botón
para marcar (“dial”) para recorrer los números de 7, 10 y 11 dígitos.
7-dígitos: número telefónico de 7 dígitos (por ejemplo, 555-5555).
10-dígitos: clave de área de 3 dígitos + el número telefónico de 7 dígitos (por
ejemplo 425-555-5555).
11-dígitos: clave de larga distancia 1 + clave de área de 3 dígitos + el número
telefónico de 7 dígitos (por ejemplo 1-425-555-5555).
4. Para marcar el número mostrado levante el auricular antes de que el temporizador llegue
a 0. La indicación “DISCANDO AHORA” aparece en la pantalla y el número se marca.
SI USTED NO PROGRAMÓ SU CLAVE DE AREA EN EL MENÚ DE
PROGRAMACIÓN
1. Utilice los botones para revisar (+) o (-) para mostrar el número que usted quiera
marcar. Usted únicamente verá números de 10 dígitos (por ejemplo, 234-555-1234).
2. Vea los pasos del 2 al 4 en la sección anterior para completar el proceso de volver
a llamar.
NOTA: Si la indicación “LEVANTE TELEFON” aparece en la pantalla, no se
puede hacer ningún otro cambio al número. La información enviada desde su
compañía telefónica es un número válido para volverse a marcar (disponible
únicamente en áreas limitadas. Una vez que usted levanta el teléfono, el número
se marca automáticamente.
MENSAJES DEL IDENTIFICADOR DE LLAMADAS
Los siguientes mensajes especiales indican el estado actual de un mensaje o del aparato:
NO CALLS
La memoria de llamadas está vacía.
(NINGUNA LLAMADA)
UNKNOWN CALLER
(DESCONOCIDO)
La llamada entrante no tiene servicio de Identificador de
Llamadas o el área de servicio de la persona que llama no
está conectada con la suya. Si la indicación “DESCONOCIDO”
aparece junto con el número que llama, la información del
nombre para ese número no estaba disponible.
La corriente de la batería está baja. Por favor cambie la
batería tan pronto como le sea posible para poder mantener
intacta la operación del Identificador de Llamadas.
BLOCKED CALL
(LLAMADA PRIVADA)
La persona haciendo la llamada entrante está registrada
como “Número Privado” y sus datos de Identificador de
Llamadas no serán revelados.
START/END
(COMIENZO/FINAL)
Usted está al principio o al final del registro del registro de
memoria del Identificador de Llamadas.
CALL WAITING
Si usted está suscrito al servicio de Identificador de Llamada
en Espera, este símbolo parpadea cuando usted recibe una
llamada mientras está en el teléfono.
GUÍA PARA SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS
NO HAY TONO DE MARCAR
• Verifique el cableado para asegurarse de que las conexiones están conectadas
adecuadamente y no están dañadas.
• Verifique el gancho del auricular: ¿Regresa a su lugar cuando se levanta el
auricular de la base?
LA PANTALLA NO MUESTRA NADA
• Cambie las baterías.
• Asegúrese de que las baterías están instaladas adecuadamente.
NO HAY INFORMACIÓN DEL IDENTIFICADOR DE LLAMADAS DESPUÉS DE QUE EL TELÉFONO TIMBRA
• Para recibir la información del Identificador de Llamadas con este aparato, usted
debe estar suscrito al servicio de Identificador de Llamadas que ofrece su
compañía telefónica local.

EL TELÉFONO NO TIMBRA

LA OTRA PERSONA NO PUEDE ESCUCHARLE
• Asegúrese que el cable telefónico esté conectado adecuadamente.
• Asegúrese que las demás extensiones del teléfono estén colgadas mientras
usted está usando el teléfono. Es normal que baje el volumen si se utilizan otras
extensiones al mismo tiempo.
EL TELÉFONO NO DA LÍNEA HACIA FUERA
• Asegúrese que la modalidad de marcado por tono/ pulso esté programada de
