("AST") promises to the original purchaser to repair or replace with a comparable reconditioned model any AST control module ("module") excluding without limitation the any other accessories, including but not limited to the antenna, remote, siren and wiring harness, proves to be defective in workmanship or material under reasonable use during the lifetime of the vehicle it was originally installed, provided the following conditions have been met: the module was professionally installed and serviced by an authorized AST dealer; the unit will be professionally reinstalled in the vehicle in which it was originally installed by an authorized AST dealer; the warranty information card was sent to AST within 10 days of the original installation date. Any warranty returns include a warranty return authorization number issued by AST, original bill or sale and be pre-paid shipped directly to AST. After an initial period of 2 years from the date of installation, AST reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to charge a warranty processing fee of $30.00 USD. AST does not cover the cost for return freight on warranty items, this cost is the sole responsibility of the purchaser. All components included with the original packaged unit other than the module, including but not limited to the siren, antenna and the remote transmitters, carry a one-year warranty from the date of purchase of the same. Any warranty returns on components must include a warranty return authorization number issued by AST, original bill or sale and be pre-paid shipped directly to AST. This warranty is non-transferable and is automatically void if: the original purchaser has not completed the warranty card and mailed it within ten (10) days of the date of purchase to the address listed on the card; the unit's date code or serial number is defaced, missing or altered; the unit has been modified or used in a manner contrary to its intended purpose; the unit has been damaged by accident, unreasonable use, neglect, improper service, installation or other causes not arising out of defects in materials or construction. The warranty does not cover damage to the unit caused by installation or removal of the unit. AST, at its sole discretion, will determine what constitutes excessive damage and may refuse the return of any unit with excessive damage, including, but not limited to, overloading, moisture and physical damage. To the maximum extent allowed by law, any and all warranties are excluded by the manufacturer and each entity participating in the stream of commerce therewith. This exclusion includes but is not limited to, the exclusion of any and all warranty of merchantability and/or any and all warranty of fitness for a particular purpose and/or any and all warranty of non-infringement or patents, in the United States of America and/or abroad. Neither the manufacturer or any entities connected therewith shall be responsible or liable for any damages whatsoever, including but not limited to, any consequential damages, incidental damages, damages for loss of time, loss of earnings, commercial loss, loss of economic opportunity and the like. Notwithstanding the above, manufacturer does offer a limited warranty to replace or repair the control module as describe above. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty will last or the exclusion or limitation on how long an implied warranty will last or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. The park lights will flash and the siren/ horn will chirp one time. The doors will lock and the Starter Disable will activate. (optional) The LED will start flashing within five seconds. Once Armed, the alarm can be triggered by the shock sensor (impact to vehicle), door inputs (opening door / hood), turning on ignition. NOTES: - If a door is open or delay dome light is 30 seconds after arming, system with chirp 3 times to indicate door input is bypassed until door is closed or dome light turns off. - If system is programmed for silent arming, siren will not chirp when arming, but park lights will still flash. - If system is in valet mode, doors will lock, but siren will not chirp and lights will not flash. LED indicator will be on solid. See Valet / Service Mode in this manual for further information PRESS & HOLD ACTIVATE TRUNK RELEASE 1 Press then HOLD the Disarm / Unlock button on the remote. 2 The park lights will flash and the siren will chirp two times. 3 The doors will unlock and the Starter Disable will deactivate. (optional) 4 The LEDs will stop flashing. 5 - Continue to HOLD until siren chirps again and trunk activates 6 - Release Button NOTES: - For safety, the trunk release will not active when ignition key is ON. PAGE 7 TRANSMITTER FUNCTIONS SYSTEM PROGRAMMING - Menu 1 450 SERIES OWNER'S MANUAL PRESS & RELEASE DISARM SYSTEM / UNLOCK DOORS 1 2 3 4 Press then release the Disarm / Unlock button on the remote. The park lights will flash and the Siren will chirp Two times.* The doors will unlock and the Starter Disable** will deactivate. The LEDs will stop flashing. NOTES: - If the alarm was active (siren sounding), the first press of the unlock button will turn off the siren and the second press will unlock / disarm. - Siren will chirp 3 times if alarm was triggered while armed. See alarm diagnostics section of manual for further information - If system is programmed for silent disarm, siren will not chirp when disarming, park lights will flash 2 times. Contact installer if you do not want this feature. - If system is in valet mode, siren will not chirp and park lights will not flash but doors will unlock. LED will be one SOLID. See Valet / Service Mode section of manual for further information. ** Optional Feature may require additional parts PRESS TWICE DRIVER'S DOOR PRIORITY UNLOCK 1 Press then release the Disarm / Unlock button on the remote transmitter. 2 The park lights will flash and the siren will chirp two times.* 3 The driver's doors will unlock and the Starter Disable will deactivate. (optional) 4 The LEDs will stop flashing. 5 Press the Disarm / Unlock Button a second time within 3 seconds and the other doors will unlock. 450 SERIES PAGE 8 OWNER'S MANUAL SYSTEM PROGRAMMING - Menu 1 TRANSMITTER FUNCTIONS PRESS HOLD ACTIVATE PANIC MODE 1 2 3 4 5 Press and HOLD the Arm/ Lock button for three seconds. The doors will lock and the Starter Disable will activate. (optional) The park lights will begin to flash and the siren will activate. To turn off panic, press Lock or Unlock buttons on remote. If no button is pressed, Panic Alarm will sound up to 1 minute then turn off. Panic Mode is a personal protection feature that allows you to activate your alarm from the remote transmitter. This feature can be used to draw attention to your vehicle if you feel threatened. + PRESS TOGETHER SILENT ARM / SILENT DISARM 1 Press then release the Lock & Unlock buttons together. 2 If the system is DISARMED, it will Arm and Lock with no siren chirps and 1 light flash. 3 If the system is ARMED, it will Disarm and Unlock with no siren chirps and 2 light flash . PRESS & HOLD for 3 sec CAR FINDER MODE - PRESS & HOLD button number 4 on the remote transmitter for 3 seconds the release. - Siren will chirp 5 times and lights will flash. This feature helps in locating vehicle in a busy parking lot. It allows you hear and see your vehicle from a distance. 450 SERIES PAGE 10 OWNER'S MANUAL SYSTEM PROGRAMMING SHOCK SENSOR - Menu 1 SHOCK SENSOR ADJUSTMENTS 1 - ENTER SHOCK SENSOR ADJUSTMENT MODE + Press & HOLD Lock + Unlock buttons at the same time Continue to hold for 3-5 seconds Until Siren Chirps 3 times 3 CHIRPS (Note: System will Arm or Disarm via silent arming prior to entering adjustment mode) 2 - ADJUSTING SENSOR Each time the lock button is pressed and released the sensitivity will decrease by 1 level. This is confirmed by a series of park light flashes & Siren Chirps 1 Flash / Chirp is the least sensitive setting 10 Flashes / Chirps is the most sensitive setting Each time the unlock button is pressed and released the sensitivity will increase by 1 level. This is confirmed by a series of park light flashes & Siren Chirps 1 Flash / Chirp is the least sensitive setting 10 Flashes / Chirps is the most sensitive setting 3 - EXITING SENSOR ADJUSTMENT MODE + Press & HOLD Lock + Unlock buttons at the same time (NOTE: Shock Sensor Adjustment Mode has an auto time out of 8 seconds) ADDITIONAL LED FUNCTIONS While the system is disarmed and the ignition is in the off position, the LEDs will activate from the following triggers. 1) If the door is opened the LEDs will stay on until the door is closed. 2) If the hood is opened the LEDs will stay on until the hood is closed. 3) If the shock sensor detects vibration the LEDs will turn on momentarily. 4) If the auxiliary sensor input is activated the LEDs will activate momentary. 450 SERIES PAGE 11 DIAGNOSTICS SYSTEM PROGRAMMING - Menu 1 OWNER'S MANUAL ALARM STATUS / DIAGNOSTICS If the alarm system is triggered, the system will retain in memory the cause of the trigger. When disarming the alarm, the siren/horn will chirp 3 times to indicate the alarm had been triggered. The system’s LED will also flash in pulses to indicate which input triggered the alarm. *LED status will be cleared when the ignition is turned ON. For proper memory clearing, insure to connect the alarm ignition input to the ignition on the vehicle. SIREN CHIRPS LED FLASHES DIAGNOSTICS / STATUS 3 3 3 0 0 0 0 2 3 4 OFF ON SOLID SINGLE FLASHES RAPID FLASHES SHOCK SENSOR TRIGGER DOOR / HOOD TRIGGER IGNITION TRIGGER SYSTEM DISARMED SYSTEM IN VALET / SERVICE MODE SYSTEM ARMED PASSIVE ARM COUNTDOWN ALARM STATUS / DIAGNOSTICS If an output from the alarm is shorted the siren will chirp 4 times and the park lights will flash 4 times when the system is armed or disarmed. The LED will flash a diagnostic code that represents the circuit that is at fault. (See Chart Below). Turning the ignition to the on then off position will reset the diagnostic code.
