SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS
A short power cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from entanglement or
tripping over a longer cord. Longer detachable power supply cords are available and
may be used if care is exercised in their use. If a longer detachable power cord or
extension cord is used (1) the marked electrical rating of the extension cord should
be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and (2) the longer cord
should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or table top where it
can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally. The electrical rating of
the appliance is listed on the bottom of the unit. If the appliance is of the grounded
type, the extension cord should be a grounded type 3 wire cord. This appliance has
a polarized plug. One blade is wider than the other. To reduce the risk of electrical
shock this plug will fit in a polarized plug only one way. If the plug does not fit,
contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
BEFORE FIRST USE
Place the box on a large, sturdy flat surface. Carefully unpack your hand vacuum
and remove all packaging material and literature. Remove any labels or stickers
from the hand vacuum. To remove any dust that may have accumulated during
packaging, you may wipe the unit with a clean, damp cloth. Dry thoroughly. NOTE:
Check that the filter is inserted correctly. Never operate the appliance without the
filter. Keep all plastic bags away from children.

To assemble the hand vacuum, simply slide the FIGURE 2
permanent dust filter {with the filter end in first) into
the dust collector and then fit the dust collector to the
motor casing until it clicks and locks into place. For
details on assembling the attachments see the
Operating Your Hand Vacuum section of this manual.

INSTALLING THE WALL MOUNTABLE BRACKET
1. NOTE: The wall mountable bracket should

the wall, place the accessory holder laterally
by pressing until it clicks into position on the

CHARGING YOUR HAND VACUUM
NOTE: If you are using the hand vacuum for the first time, or if the batteries have no
charge left, the hand vacuum must be left in the wall mountable bracket with the
charger plugged in for approximately 15-18 hours. This provides you with an
operating time of approximately 17-20 minutes. IMPORTANT: Make sure that the wall
mountable bracket is secure before placing the hand vacuum in the base.
CHARGING YOUR HAND VACUUM
After Mounting the Bracket:
1. Pass the battery charger plug upwards
through the lower opening of the wall
mountable bracket.
2. Fit the battery charger plug into the channel
provided.
3. Firmly place the end of the battery charger
plug into the slot. The charger plug must Eu ==
remain in this position and it must not fall out =
when inserting or pulling off the hand vacuum. -
4. Insert the battery charger into a 120V / 60Hz
only outlet. Place the hand vacuum (with the
removable dust collector pointing up) into the
bracket and slide it into place. NOTE: If the
bracket is not wall-mounted, install the battery
charger plug the same way, but place the
bracket on a flat, level surface near an outlet. -

are included if necessary. NOTE: If using accessory attachments, be
sure to place the accessory on the unit before turning the hand vacuum
ON.

Using the Accessory Attachments:
a Crevice Tool: Insert the crevice tool by placing the wider end into the
opening (suction nozzle) at the top of the dust collection container. The
rimmed edge at the base of the crevice tool should :
be flush against the container. The crevice tool is
ideal for vacuuming dust and dirt from hard-to-
reach areas such as corners and edges.
4. Dusting Brush: Insert the dusting brush by placing a
the end into the opening (suction nozzle) at the (7
top of the dust collector. The dusting brush is for rs
use on soft fabrics like upholstery, car seats, FIGURE 6
curtains or carpeting.
Recharging:
5. If during use you notice that the hand vacuum is diminishing in power (and
that the LED display has turned OFF completely), return the hand vacuum
to the wall mountable bracket (rechargeable base) for recharging and follow
the steps under the Charging the Hand Vacuum section of this manual.
6. After use, always return the appliance to the wall mountable bracket
(rechargeable base) whether or not it needs to be charged. The appliance
is fitted with a special circuit designed to prevent overcharging the batteries,
and can therefore be left charged without risk of damage.
7. While the vacuum cleaner is recharging, the battery charger will become
warm; this is normal. The battery charger should be unplugged from the
outlet only if the appliance is not used for a long period of time.
Filter:

cleaning the filter can be washed in warm, soapy water.
Before placing the filter back into the dust collector, check that it is perfectly
dry and not damaged in any way. Otherwise, the performance of the hand
vacuum may be affected.
Replace the filter if it is damaged in any way.
Fit the filter to the dust collector and reattach the motor casing to the dust
collector until it clicks and locks into place.
CLEANING YOUR HAND VACUUM

CAUTION: Make sure your hand vacuum is turned off and removed from
the wall mountable bracket before attempting to clean. To protect against
electric shock, do not immerse cord, plug or unit in water or other liquid.
The outside of your hand vacuum can be cleaned by wiping the surface
with a damp, soft cloth. Dry thoroughly. CAUTION: Never immerse the
hand vacuum in water or other liquid.
Use a soft cloth and soapy water to clean the permanent dust filter, crevice
tool and dusting brush. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
HINTS AND SUGGESTIONS
The battery charger plug and the battery charger will last for many years if used
correctly. If the hand vacuum should diminish in power or if the noise level should
increase, switch OFF the appliance and check for obstructions in the suction nozzle
or in the dust collector. If the problem persists, contact an authorized De Longhi
service center.
