LT-12-E-M
12 GHz Low Drive Voltage Lightwave Transmitter
The Optilab LT-12-E-M Lightwave Transmitters (LT) utilize a low drive voltage, Electo Absorption Modulator (EAM) designed for RF over Fiber, antenna remoting and broadband RF transmission applications over single mode optical fiber.
This easy to drive, low RF input module uses a low noise, narrow linewidth, 1550 nm distributed feedback (DFB) laser diode as a Continuous Wave (CW) light source. The compact, cost-effective modulated transmitter design provides a high spur-free dynamic range and high input intercept point performance, while the
EAM is employed to provide the linear modulation capability that exceeds 12 GHz in its modulation bandwidth.

The LT Series can be ordered as RF over Fiber 12 GHz Link. This link, the LL-12-E series form a highperformance set that include the 12 GHz EAM transmitter and 12 GHz Amplified Receiver. The LL-12-E can come equiped with an optional EDFA that is used to overcome transmission loss in long distances. Below is a diagram of how the RF over Fiber link functions. The LT-12-E can also be paired with and LR-30 to create a 15 GHz RF over Fiber Link. This link, the LL-15-E, requires an pre-amp EDFA since the LR-30 is not an amplified receiver.
