corresponding to the electrical rating
of the machine as indicated.
* Unplug the pouch laminator before
moving it, or when it is not in use for
an extended period of time.
* Do not operate with a damaged
supply cord or plug, after it
malfunctions, or after it has been
damaged in any manner.
= Do not overload electrical outlets
beyond their capacity as this can
result in fire or electrical shock.
Do not alter attachment plug. Plug
is configured for the appropriate
electrical supply.
* The unitis intended for indoor
use only.
* Never push objects into this product
through cabinet slots. Do not spill
liquid of any kind on this product.
SERVICE
* Do not attempt to service or repair
the pouch laminator yourself. Unplug
the unit and contact an authorized
GBC service representative for any
required repairs.
CLEANING
CAUTION: Unplug this product
before cleaning.
* Wipe exterior only with a damp cloth.
Do not use detergents or solvents.

NETTOYAGE

LIMPIEZA

antes de proceder a la limpieza
de la máquina.

detergentes o disolventes.

OPERATION
Control Panel LCD. The
following information is
displayed on the LCD:
READY - Indicates that the
machine is at or above the
requested laminating
temperature. “READY” blinks at
the desired temperature.
TEMPERATURE - The numbers
directly below the word
TEMPERATURE indicates
the user requested
temperature setting.
SPEED - The numbers directly
below the word SPEED indicate
the revolution speed of the
machine rollers.
PRE/H - Indicates that the
Pre-Heat function is selected.
HOT CARRY- Indicates that
lamination using a carrier is
selected.
HOT - Indicates that lamination
using carrierless film is selected.
COLD - Indicates that
lamination without heat
is selected.

Selecting Functions. Pressing
keys performs functions as
follows:
CARRY - Sets the machine to
130° C (266° F), Speed 3, the
default setting for lamination of
80 micron (3 mil) pouches and
heavy paper USING A
CARRIER.
DIRECT - Sets the machine to
110° C (230° F), Speed 5, the
default for lamination of GBC
Pro Film pouches USING A
CARRIER. Also the default for
80 micron (3 mil) pouches and
literature paper using special
carrierless film "DIRECT" or
WITHOUT A CARRIER. Note:
GBC recommends using a
carrier with ALL FILMS for better
quality output and protection of
rollers.

OPERATION
PRE/H - Sets the machine to 80”
C (176° F), Speed 0, stand-by. If
the temperature of the roller
is above 90° C (194° F), then
speed "2" is automatically set
to protect the rollers; and once
the temperature reaches 85° C
(185° F), then the speed
stops (goes to 0).
MOUNT - Sets the machine to
150° C (302° F), Speed 1, for
use with GBC Designer Frames
and other hard boards greater
than 1 mm in thickness.
MEAS - Measures the current
lamination temperature,
COLD - This is the setting that is
automatically selected when the
machine is first turned on. Sets
the machine to 0, no temperature
and no speed. If the temperature
of the roller is above 90° C
(194 F), then speed “2” is
automatically set to protect
the rollers.
These keys are
used to increase
or decrease temperature by 1°
or 2° F. Temperature can be
adjusted up to 160° C or 320° F,
at which point a warning “beep”
is heard.
DOOOOE Keys numbered
1-6 adjust the speed of the
rollers. Speed 6 is the fastest
speed.
STOP - Stops the revolution of
the rollers. To protect the rollers,
the machine should not be
stopped for long periods of time
when the temperature is above
90° C (194° F).
REV - Reverses the revolution of
the rollers to correct misfeeds.
MEAS/STOP - Pressing these
two buttons simultaneously
changes between C and "Е

1. Connect power cord to
appropriate power source.
2. Push the power switch located
on the back of the machine to
the “on” position.
OPERATION,
HOT LAMINATION
After the laminator has been
turned on using the power switch
located on the back of the
machine, the Cold mode
is automatically set. The
words “Cold” and “Ready”,
temperature setting “0” and
speed setting “0” should be
displayed on the LCD.
1. Select “CARRY” on the
function keys. The LCD will
indicate Temperature 130 C'
(266° F) and Speed “0”.
“READY” will not be indicated.
When the temperature of the
rollers reach 90° C (194° F) or
above, the Speed will
increase to “3" and the roller
will start to roll. When the
temperature of the roller
reaches 130° C (266 F),
READY will begin to blink on
the LCD.
2. Use the Laminating Guide
included with the machine to
select the proper temperature
and speed for the material to
be laminated,

After the laminator has been turned on
using the power switch located on the
back of the machine, the Cold mode is
automatically set. The words “Cold” and
“Ready”, temperature setting “0" and speed
setting "0" should be displayed on the
LCD. If the machine has just recently been
used for Hot Lamination, then the machine
must reach a temperature of no hotter than
30° C (86 F) before starting Cold
Lamination.
1. Select a GBC SelfSeal™ Pouch that is
slightly larger than the document to be
laminated.
2. Run the film, film-side faced up, for
about 3-6mm (1/8 - 1/4”) into the
laminator, and then press STOP to stop
the rollers.
3. Carefully separate the backing release
paper from the film, and drape the clear
film over the top of the laminator.
4. Place the document between the
separated film and backing, and press
Speed 2.
5. After the laminated document exits the
rear of the laminator, then either cut off
the excess pouch edge for a flush-cut
appearance, or leave the edge as an
adhesive border for signage.

1. Select the MOUNT mode,
and wait for the ready indicator.
The MOUNT default is 150" C
(302° Е), Speed 1.
2. Select a GBC Designer
Frame that is larger than the
document to be mounted.
Designer Frames come with
a hardboard, face film with a
protective carrier film, and
mounting film. If necessary,
trim mounting film to the same
size as the material to be
laminated.
3. Place the mounting film on the
backside of the material to be
laminated.
4. Lift or “open” the face film from
the hardboard, and position
the material to be laminated
(and the mounting film) onto
the mounting board.
5. Replace or “close” face film.
6. Start laminating. Hold the
Designer Frame and its
contents tightly when feeding
it into the laminator, so that
the original is not pushed
out upon feeding between
the rollers.
7. When the Designer Frame exits
the rear of the laminator, then
carefully rub a finger against a
front corner to remove the
protective carrier film. Be
careful not to separate the
layers of the board.
OTHER APPLICATIONS:
GBC CREATIVE FOILS™
1. Select 150° C (302° F) and
speed 3, and wait for the
READY indicator.
2. Place GBC Creative Foil color-
side-out over output from a
toner-based laser printer or
photocopier. When printing
various colors on the same
original piece, arrange the
different colors and secure with
the stickers included with the
Creative Foils.
3. Insert the document and foil into
a carrier and laminate.
4. When the item exits the rear of
the laminator, then remove the
document from the carrier and
remove the excess foil.
