The X10 Network Camera interface provides a way to control a X10 device using a Panasonic Network camera connected to the
Internet. In conjunction with an X10 Poweflash device (purchased separately), the unit allows a user to send X10 on / off
commands remotely for one house/ unit code to the location where the camera is located.
The interface is completely self-contained and preset at the factory. A sensor clip adhesively attaches to the front of the camera
and the wires are attached to the Powerflash. By remotely turning on and off the indicator lamp on the Panasonic Network
Camera, the sensor will signal the Powerflash to send X10 on or off signals.
NOTE: Observe polarity in connecting to the Powerflash! Incorrect wiring to the Powerflash can destroy the device.
Make sure that the front of the camera is clean and at room temperature. The adhesive clip has sticky tape attached to the back.
Remove the outer covering of the sticky tape and attach it to the front of your camera. Install the clip such that the open end
faces up. Place the wire of the sensor in the top part of the clip so that it is held firmly. Adjust the sensor position as required.
The sensor should be placed such that the open end is precisely aligned over the indicator LED and snugly covering it, but not
pressing it in. (The LED button when pressed places the camera in “Privacy” mode.) A stiffener wire has been adjusted at the
factory but it can be bent slightly for a user’s particular installation.
The two leads from the sensor attach to the Powerflash terminals. The red lead should be attached to the rightmost terminal
(marked +) and the black lead should be attached to the left terminal (marked -). Double-check these connections and polarities
before plugging in the Powerflash module and power transformer.
The Powerflash module provides terminals for inputs in two configurations according to the setting of the INPUT (left) slide
switch. For this sensor, the Powerflash module should be placed in Position “A” (slid to the left.)
Adjust the MODE slide switch to select the desired operation. Upon sensing the indicator lamp on the camera has come on the
Powerflash:
1) Turns on all Lamp modules set to the same house code as the Powerflash. Turns on Appliance modules set to the same house
and unit code as the Powerflash. After the indicator lamp is turned off, all modules set to the same house and unit code will
be turned off.
2) Flashes all lamp modules set to the same house code. If the indicator lamp is turned off, all lights remain on.
3) Turns on Lamp and Appliance modules set to the same house code and unit code as the interface. After the indicator lamp is
turned off, it will turn these same modules off.
OPERATIONS:
Attach the sensor to the Powerflash as described above. Plug the transformer and Powerflash in and verify the Powerflash and
receiver modules house and unit codes are correct.

Panasonic Network Cameras have a free network service (www.viewnetcam.com) that allows a user to create a password protected
personalized web address at which the cameras live video can be seen on the internet.
This access allows a remote user to adjust the indicator lamp either on or off, triggering the X10 Powerflash through the attached
sensor.
Each of the following Panasonic cameras can be used:
BL-C111a
BL-C131a
BL-C30
BL-C30a
