The majority of homes today have automatic garage door openers.
Therefore, Ideal doors do not include a lock. If desired, an easy-to-install, heavy-duty, keyed lock is available.

PAINTING AND STAINING YOUR DOOR TO COMPLEMENT YOUR HOME
How to Paint your Steel Door:
• Clean door surface to remove any loose material
or dirt.
• Paint with a high quality 100% acrylic latex exterior
grade paint.
• Simply use a brush or roller to apply paint.
Doors have a woodgrain texture so paint
application marks seemingly disappear.
NOTE: Carriage House Custom Crafted Steel doors may be painted any color except black or colors with a light reflective value (LRV) lower than 8.
How to Stain your Wood Door:
• Select a high quality exterior oil-based penetrating
stain that is mildew resistant, UV resistant and
water repellent.
• Clean door surface to remove any loose material
or dirt.
• Apply stain to all door section surfaces.
• Fill any gaps or voids on surface with a clear
silicone caulk.
NOTE: Paint grade doors cannot be stained.
Complete staining instructions are found in installation manual.
How to Paint your Wood Door:
• Fill any gaps or voids on wood surfaces with a
paintable caulking compound.
• Clean all door surfaces with a stiff bristle brush.
• Prime the door per the installation instructions.

• Paint all door section surfaces using a high quality oil
or latex-based exterior paint.

MAINTENANCE & CARE
• Proper care and maintenance are imperative to the
appearance, longevity and performance of a Carriage House
Premium Wood door.
• Prior to installation it is required that the door (outside, inside
and all edges) be primed and painted with a high quality
exterior paint or stained with a penetrating stain that is mildew
and UV resistant and water repellent. Failure to properly
finish door will void warranty.
SIZES
• Standard widths are 8', 9', l0', I5', 15'6", 16' and 18' (non-standard
widths are available in 2" increments from 6' to 18'). Door heights
are 6'6" (3 sections), 7' (3 sections), 7'6" (4 sections) and 8'
• Design 5 not available in 6'6" height and Design 6 not available in
9'2" up to I4' widths.
• Not all panel and window designs are available in all section
widths and heights. (See Millwork team member for details.)
SPECIAL NOTES
• An automatic electric garage door opener (minimum 1 / 2
HP)
• 15" radius track standard. 14" of headroom is required plus 3"
for a garage door opener.
• 14" of headroom is required for installation plus 3" for a garage
