WARNING
Proper installation and use depends on you! If you do not follow
the instructions in this manual and the labels on the car seat,
paying particular attention to the warning statements, your child
could be at risk of striking the vehicle’s interior during a sudden
stop or crash, resulting in serious injury or death.
ALWAYS secure this car seat with your vehicle belt system
exactly as described in this manual. Refer also to your vehicle
owner’s manual for specific information on your vehicle belt
system and specific instructions on how to install a car seat
in your vehicle.
ALWAYS use the tether strap when using the car seat in 5-Point
Harness Mode. Your child’s safety is significantly enhanced in
the event of a crash if the tether strap is used. The tether strap
significantly reduces forward motion of your child’s head during
a crash, greatly reducing the likelihood of head injury.
4
5-Point Harness Mode
20-40 lbs.
WARNING
NEVER leave an unsecured car seat in your vehicle. If left
unsecured, even when not occupied, the car seat could injure
other occupants in a sudden stop or crash.
NEVER dress your child in clothing that interferes with positioning
the crotch strap between your child’s legs. If the crotch strap is not
positioned between your child’s legs, your child could eject from
the car seat in a crash.
NEVER allow the shoulder straps to be loose around your child.
If the shoulder straps are not snug against your child, your child
will not be properly restrained.
NEVER use the car seat after it is involved in a crash. A crash
can cause damage to the car seat that you cannot see.

IMPORTANT!
• Please read the entire side of this manual carefully before using the car seat
in 5-Point Harness Mode. Keep this manual under the clip on the back of the
car seat for easy reference.
• This child restraint system conforms to all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle
Safety Standards (FMVSS 213) and the Society of Automotive Engineers
(SAE) J1819 for child restraint systems; and when used in 5-Point Harness
Mode is certified for use in motor vehicles and aircraft.
• The Grow-With-MeTM Car Seat in 5-Point Harness Mode is intended for use
by children who: are at least 1 year old; weigh between 20 and 40 lbs.
(9 and 18 kg); and are between 28 and 40 inches (71 and 102 cm) tall. If
your child does not meet these criteria, DO NOT use this car seat in this mode.
Depending on the age and size of your child, your child may be able to use
this car seat in Booster Car Seat Mode (30 - 80 lbs.). Please refer to the instructions in the other side of this owner’s manual.
• The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that a child be at least
1 year old and 20 lbs. to ride in a forward-facing car seat.

5-Point Harness Mode
20-40 lbs.
IMPORTANT!
• If your child weighs between 20 and 40 lbs., but cannot sit upright
unassisted, please contact your physician to determine how best to use
a car seat.
• This car seat includes a locking clip (stored on the headrest) for use with
a particular vehicle belt system. Only use the locking clip to install the car
seat in 5-Point Harness Mode. Attach the locking clip to a vehicle lap and
shoulder belt system with a sliding latch plate. Please refer to page 13 to
help identify this type of vehicle belt system and instructions beginning on
page 43 for locking clip use.
• If you do not need to use a locking clip, store it under the tabs on the back
of the headrest.
• Fisher-Price® recommends that child restraints be replaced after eight years
to provide the best assurance that the child restraint is: in reliable working
condition; well-suited for use in constantly changing automobile interior
designs; and reasonably current in relation to Federal regulations. When
you replace your car seat for any reason, make sure that it can no longer
be used by another child by disposing of it properly.

What Kind of Vehicle Belt System Do You Have?
WARNING
ALWAYS secure this car seat with your vehicle belt system exactly
as described in this manual. Refer also to your vehicle owner’s
manual for specific information on your vehicle belt system and
specific instructions on how to install a car seat in your vehicle.

What Kind of Vehicle Belt System Do You Have?
There are many different types of vehicle belt systems. Some vehicle belt systems
can never be used with this car seat in 5-Point Harness Mode. Read your
vehicle’s owner’s manual and check to determine which type of vehicle belt
system or systems you have in your vehicle.
Many vehicles have more than one type of vehicle belt system. For example,
you may find lap only belts in center seating locations and lap and shoulder
belts in side seating locations. If you are not sure which type of vehicle belt
system you have, contact your vehicle dealer or manufacturer.
The illustrations on page 12 show vehicle belt systems that can never be used
with this car seat in 5-Point Harness Mode and page 13 shows vehicle belt
systems that are acceptable for use. If you do not have a seating location with a
usable vehicle belt system, DO NOT use this car seat. Your vehicle manufacturer
may be able to install a vehicle belt system that will be able to restrain your child
properly in this car seat. NEVER alter your vehicle belt system yourself.

Selecting a Vehicle Seating Location for Your Car Seat
IMPORTANT!
Accident statistics show that children are safer when restrained properly
in rear vehicle seating locations than in front seating locations.
Only use the front seat when no acceptable rear seating location is available. If the front seating location is equipped with an airbag but must be
used, adjust the vehicle seat as far back from the dashboard as possible.
Please refer to your vehicle owner’s manual regarding front seat child
restraint use.

Tether Anchor Installation
A tether strap is required only when using the car seat in 5-Point Harness
Mode. Use of the tether strap is an effective way to reduce a child’s
forward motion in the event of a crash. And, reducing forward motion
improves your child’s safety! To use the tether strap, you must have a tether
anchor in your vehicle.
If your vehicle was manufactured in or after 1999, you may already have
a factory installed tether anchor. Refer to your vehicle owner’s manual for
tether anchor locations in your vehicle.
For most vehicles manufactured between 1985 and 1999, you must contact
your vehicle dealer to obtain a tether anchor kit that is specifically designed
to fit your vehicle. Vehicle manufacturers will provide tether anchor kits and
in many cases, free installation of a tether anchor.
If your vehicle was manufactured before 1985 or a tether anchor kit is not
available for your particular vehicle, use the universal tether anchor kit provided with this car seat. Before installing the tether anchor, install the car
seat in the desired location and check to be sure that the vehicle seat belt
system holds the car seat securely.

Message to Parents for Booster Car Seat Mode
Thank you for choosing the Fisher-Price® Grow-With-MeTM
Car Seat.
This car seat can be used in two different modes:
5-Point Harness for a child 20 - 40 lbs.; or Booster Car
Seat (without harness) for a child 30 - 80 lbs. If your child
is at least 30 lbs., please read this side of this owner’s
manual for Booster Car Seat Mode information.
Before you use this car seat, please take time to read
and understand this manual completely. DO NOT allow
others to use this car seat until they understand these
instructions for proper use. Your child’s safety depends
on you!
No one can predict when the use of a car seat will
prevent injury or death. When used properly, this car
seat in booster car seat mode will better restrain your child in your vehicle by
allowing you to properly position the vehicle lap and shoulder belt. The use of
a properly positioned lap and shoulder belt will reduce the risk of injury in a
sudden stop or crash.

WARNING
Proper installation and use depends on you! If you do
not follow the instructions in this manual and the labels
on the booster car seat, paying particular attention to the
warning statements, your child could be at risk of striking
the vehicle’s interior during a sudden stop or crash,
resulting in serious injury or death.
USE ONLY the vehicle’s lap and shoulder belt system when restraining the child in this car seat in Booster Car Seat Mode. Using a
lap only belt will still allow your child’s head to move forward
in a sudden stop or crash, possibly causing your child’s head to
strike the vehicle’s interior or your child’s knees hard enough to
cause injury or death.
NEVER leave an unsecured car seat in your vehicle. If left
unsecured, even when not occupied, the car seat could injure
other occupants in a sudden stop or crash.
3
Booster Car Seat Mode
30-80 lbs.
WARNING
NEVER put anything on your vehicle seat (such as a cushion)
to raise the car seat. This will create too much slack in the
vehicle belt system. In a sudden stop or crash, a loose vehicle
belt system will not be able to properly restrain your child.
NEVER use the car seat after it is involved in a crash. A crash
can cause damage to the booster car seat that you cannot see.
NEVER allow the vehicle shoulder belt to be moved off of
your child’s shoulder. It is critical that your child not move the
vehicle shoulder belt out of position after you have adjusted it.
4
Booster Car Seat Mode

IMPORTANT!
• USE ONLY a vehicle lap and shoulder belt system to restrain your child in
this car seat when used in Booster Car Seat Mode.
• The Grow-With-MeTM Car Seat in Booster Car Seat Mode is intended for
use by children who weigh between 30 and 80 lbs. (14 and 36 kg) and
are between 37 and 52 inches (94 and 132 cm) tall. If your child does
not meet this criteria DO NOT use this car seat in this mode. Depending
on the age and size of your child, your child may be able to use this car
seat in 5-Point Harness Mode (20 - 40 lbs., 28 - 40 inches, 1 year and up).
Please refer to the instructions on the other side of this owner’s manual.
• Please read the entire side of this manual carefully before using the car
seat in Booster Car Seat Mode. Keep this manual under the clip on the
back of the car seat for easy reference.
• This child restraint system conforms to all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle
Safety Standards (FMVSS 213) and the Society of Automotive Engineers
(SAE) J1819 for child restraint systems.
5
Booster Car Seat Mode
30-80 lbs.
IMPORTANT!
• This restraint, when used in Booster Car Seat Mode, is not certified
for aircraft use. A booster car seat requires the use of a lap and shoulder
belt system to restrain your child. Aircraft are not equipped with lap and
shoulder belt systems.
• DO NOT use the locking clip (included) when using this car seat in Booster
Car Seat Mode.
• Fisher-Price® recommends that child restraints be replaced after eight years
to provide the best assurance that the child restraint is: in reliable working
condition; well-suited for use in constantly changing automobile interior
designs; and reasonably current in relation to Federal regulations. When
you replace your booster car seat for any reason, make sure that it can
no longer be used by another child by disposing of it properly.

What Kind of Vehicle Belt System Do You Have?
YOU MUST USE
A VEHICLE LAP AND SHOULDER BELT TO USE
IN THE BOOSTER CAR SEAT MODE!
✔OK
There are many different types of vehicle belt
systems. Some vehicle belt systems can never
be used with this car seat in the Booster Car
Seat Mode. Read your vehicle’s owner’s manual
and check to determine which type of vehicle
belt systems you have in your vehicle.
Many vehicles have more than one type of
vehicle belt system. For example, you may find
lap only belts in the center seating locations and
lap and shoulder belts in side seating locations.
If you are not sure which type of vehicle belt
system you have, contact your vehicle dealer
or manufacturer.

What Kind of Vehicle Belt System Do You Have?
The illustrations on the next page show vehicle belt systems that can never be
used with this car seat in the Booster Car Seat Mode. If you do not have a seating location with a usable lap and shoulder vehicle belt system, DO NOT use this
car seat. Your vehicle manufacturer may be able to install a vehicle belt system
that will be able to restrain your child properly in this car seat. NEVER alter
your vehicle belt system yourself.
WARNING
USE ONLY the vehicle’s lap and shoulder belt system when
restraining the child in this car seat in Booster Car Seat Mode.
Using a lap only belt will still allow your child’s head to move
forward in a sudden stop or crash, possibly causing your
child’s head to strike the vehicle’s interior or your child’s
knees hard enough to cause injury or death.

Explanation – There is no shoulder belt. A lap and shoulder
belt system is required to restrain your child in the Booster Car
Seat Mode.
NEVER USE
Door Mounted Lap and Shoulder Belt
Explanation – This lap and shoulder belt system is attached to the
vehicle’s door and moves when the door is opened. You will not
be able to use the car seat shoulder belt positioner properly.
NEVER USE
Motorized Shoulder Belt
Explanation – The lap belts with these systems cannot be tightened
for a firm fit. Also, the shoulder belt moves along a track when
the door is opened or when the vehicle is started. You will not be
able to use the car seat shoulder belt positioner properly.

Selecting a Vehicle Seating Location for Your Car Seat
IMPORTANT!
Accident statistics show that children are safer when properly restrained
in rear vehicle seating locations than in front seating locations.
Only use the front seat when no acceptable rear seating location is available. If the front seating location is equipped with an airbag, but must be
used, adjust the vehicle seat as far back from the dashboard as possible.
Please refer to your vehicle owner’s manual regarding front seat child
restraint use.
