The HandyHeat TH132-F Thermostat is designed to control underfloor heating systems. The device is programmed to automatically turn the heating on and off at specific times of the day, but it can be manually overridden for immediate temperature adjustments. This allows you to set different heating schedules for different days of the week or to set a comfortable temperature for vacation periods. TH132-F THERMOSTAT INSTRUCTIONS

Once the system has been commissioned, open the hinged side panels to reveal the programming controls.

TO SET THE DAY AND TIME

The current day and time needs to be entered into the Thermostat. First set the current time by pressing the “Hour” button once, to cycle through the 24hr clock. Once you have set the correct hour repeat the procedure for the minutes by pressing the “min” button.

Next the current day needs to be entered. Press the “day” button once” to cycle through the days of the week. ie for setting the time for a Wednesday press the day button 3 times until “We” is displayed underneath the time.

TO PROGRAM THE THERMOSTAT

First press the program button.

To set the heating operations for one particular day, Press the “day” button once” to cycle through the days of the week. If you want the same operations for every day of the week, press and hold the day button. The display will change to show every day of the week. You can alter the operation of individual days later if you wish.

Example Times: [on 07:30] [off 09:30] [on 16:15] [off 21:45]

Step 1. Once you have selected the day/days you want to program the heating for, select the time at which you want the heating to be turned on. Do this by pressing the “Hour” button once, to cycle through the 24hr clock and pressing the minute once to cycle through 15-minute increments. EG 07:30. Once you have decided on the first “on” time. Press the program button.

Step 2. The display will now show at the bottom of the screen a house with a “2” inside. This is asking what time you want the heating to be turned off. Press the hour and minute buttons to select the desired

“off” time. EG 09:30. Once you have set the off time. Press the “program” button.

Step 3. The display will now show at the bottom of the screen a house with a “3” inside. This is asking what time you want the heating to be turned on for a second time in the day/days. You can have just one on and one off in a day if you wish. If so move to step 5. If not Press the hour and minute buttons to select the desired “on” time. EG 16:15. Press the “program” button.

Step 4. The display will now show at the bottom of the screen a house with a “4” inside. This is asking what time you want the heating to be turned off for a second time in the day/days. EG 21:45. This completes programming for this particular day/days.

Step 5. Press the “mode return” button. This will take you out of programming and back to the main screen. If the current time is within an “on” cycle there may be a slight delay of up to 20 second before the heating will activate.

TO SET THE TEMPERATURE FOR PROGRAM TIMES

Using the up and down keys set the temperature you want for the “on” cycle. EG 25°C. Then press and

hold the Sun button for a few seconds. The display will show a sun symbol in the centre of the screen, indicating that the “on” temperature has been set.

Repeat the procedure above to set the temperature for the “off” cycle. EG 18°C. by pressing and

holding the half moon button. The display will show a half moon symbol in the centre of the screen, indicating that the “off” temperature has been set.

The suitcase symbol is for when you go on holiday or for use in the summer time when you are not using the system. This can set as low as 5°C. To set the temperature for the “vacation” cycle. EG 5°C. by

pressing and holding the Suitcase button. The display will show a suitcase symbol in the centre of the screen, indicating that the “vacation” temperature has been set.

MANUAL MODE

This mode is used as a manual override to the timed mode. You can switch between the manual and timed modes by pressing the “mode return” button.

When you are in manual mode the display shows hand with a pointed finger, in the centre of the screen.

You can set the desired temperature by pressing the up and down arrows or you can use the pre-set temperatures of the sun and moon buttons. See top of this page.

Operating Notes:

Ensure that there is a large enough temperature difference between the Comfort and economy settings so the system has a period where it shuts off completely. If this does not happen the floor will be continuously heated which will be more expensive to run. It needs to be a compromise because if the difference is too great the system will have to work very hard to get back up to the comfort temperature.

Exactly what the difference should be will depend upon the room and how frequently it is used. A trial and error method should be adopted to achieve a balance.

If the system is left on manual mode for a sustained period the floor will be continuously heated which will be more expensive to run.
