File Locations for Installation
See the following information to find the files suitable for your computer.
For Windows computers
For Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows Server 2003
1. <language>\Prntdrvr\Pcl6_drvr\Win_2K_XP_VISTA
This folder contains the information file (.inf) for installing the PCL
printer driver on Windows.
To install it, refer to the Easy Setup Guide.
3. <language>\Prntdrvr\Ps_drvr\Win_2K_XP_VISTA
This folder contains the information file (.inf) for installing the PS printer
driver on Windows.
To install it, refer to the Easy Setup Guide.
5. Fiery User Software Installer
This folder contains the Fiery User Software Installer for installing the
following software together on Windows.
• Command WorkStation 4
• Fiery Bridge
• Fiery Hot Folders
• Fiery ColorWise Pro Tools
• Fiery Remote Scan
To install them, refer to the Utilities.
For Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008
2. <language>\Prntdrvr\Pcl6_drvr\Win_7
This folder contains the information file (.inf) for installing the PCL
printer driver on Windows.
To install it, refer to the Operator's Guide for Windows 7 / Mac OS X

driver on Windows.

6. Fiery Utility Package for Win 7
This folder contains the FieryApplicationsPackage3c.exe file for
installing the following software together on Windows.
• Command WorkStation 5.2
• Fiery Bridge
• Fiery Hot Folders
• Fiery Remote Scan
To install them, refer to the Operator's Guide for Windows 7 / Mac OS
X 10.6.

For Macintosh computers of a version other than Mac OS X 10.6.x
1. ColorWise Pro Tools
This file contained in the OSX folder is used to install ColorWise Pro
Tools on a Macintosh computer.
To install it, refer to the Utilities.
2. CWS Macintosh Edition
This file contained in the OSX folder is used to install Command
WorkStation 4 on a Macintosh computer.
To install it, refer to the Utilities.
3. EFI Hot Folders
This file contained in the OSX folder is used to install EFI Hot
Folders on a Macintosh computer.
To install it, refer to the Utilities.
4. Fiery Remote Scan
This file contained in the OSX folder is used to install Fiery Remote
Scan on a Macintosh computer.
To install it, refer to the Utilities.
5. Printer Driver
This folder contains the Macintosh PPD file for creating the printer
on a Macintosh computer.
To install it, refer to the Easy Setup Guide.
For Mac OS X 10.6.x
1. Fiery Print Driver update for OS X v10.6
This folder contains the installer for installing the CUPS filter on a
Macintosh computer.
To install it, refer to the Operator's Guide for Windows 7 / Mac OS X
10.6.
2. Fiery Utility Package
This folder contains the FieryApplicationsPackage3c.dmg file for
installing the following software on a Macintosh computer.
• Command WorkStation 5.2
• Fiery Hot Folders
• Fiery Remote Scan
To install them, refer to the Operator's Guide for Windows 7 / Mac OS
X 10.6.
3. Printer Driver
This folder contains the Macintosh PPD file for creating the printer on a
Macintosh computer.
To install it, refer to the Operator's Guide for Windows 7 / Mac OS X
10.6.

Information for our customers
(1) User Software DVD
The files for installing the printer drivers and other client software, which are contained in the User Software
DVD, differ depending on the versions of the computers which you are using.
- To install these software items, refer to "Appendix" in this document.
- To operate the Fiery Utility Packages for Windows 7/Windows Server 2008/Mac OS X 10.6, refer to the
Help.
- Several versions of Command Workstation are contained in the User Software DVD. If you need to use
ColorWise Pro Tools, install the Command WorkStation version 4.
(2) Expansion of Spot-On (optional feature)
The GA-1211-EX/GA-1310-EX support the 2nd Edition of PANTONE FORMULA GUIDE provided by
Electronics for Imaging, Inc.. Download the data from the following URL, and install it into the
GA-1211-EX/GA-1310-EX for expanding this feature.

(3) Correction to Manual
• The GA-1211-EX does not support Windows 2000 even though Windows 2000 is listed in the following
manuals:
Color Printing, Configuration and Setup, Print Options, Printing from Windows, Utilities, Variable Data
Printing, Welcome, Workflow Examples
• “None” does not exist in the selection box even though the following description is given in the LDAP
Setup section of the Configuration and Setup manual:
Depending on the setting, you are prompted to enter the User Name, Password, and Domain for the
authentication. If you select None, the authentication method is Anonymous.
• The procedure to shut down and turn off the GA-1211-EX that is given in the Release Notes is not correct.
Refer to the Configuration and Setup manual when you shut down or turn off the GA-1211-EX.
• “TO CONFIGURE MAILBOX SYNCHRONIZATION FOR A FIERY” in the Utilities Manual (page 54) is
corrected as shown below.

(4) Other limitations
• The font file is not included in the User Software DVD for the GA-1211-EX.
• When an attempt to perform calibration scanning is made from the control panel, occasionally, the
Continue button may not appear even though the scanning is complete. In this case, press the Cancel
button to return to the main screen, and start calibration scanning again.

• When the Windows 64bit server is operated as a domain controller and it is specified for the storage
location by Scan to SMB from the control panel, if the same name is used, the file may be overwritten.
Change the file name when performing Scan to SMB.
• Some limitations of IPv6 support in Fiery are listed below:
DDNS is not supported.
DHCPv6 is not supported.
Router advertisement address is limited to 8.
Fiery Applications (Utility, WebTools) are not supported.
Point & Print and Bi-Di are not supported.
• When Maximum is set for the Security Level of SNMP in the GA-1211-EX setting, the copier cannot be
found by Local Discovery. In this case, set the SNMP version on the client side to other than V3 and
register the copier manually.
• SLP Session provided for the Network menu in the TopAccess – ADMIN mode is unavailable when the
GA-1211-EX is connected to the copier.
• When you perform scanning by using [SMB/FTP/OTHER], check whether the scanned data is stored in
the specified location.
Note: The message “OK” may be displayed in the “Status” column of the SCAN LOG screen, even if
the job process has failed due to a problem, such as specifying a wrong storage location.
If the scanned data is not saved in the specified location, check the following points:
[SCAN TO SMB]/[SCAN TO FTP]
The user name and password entered into the [LOGIN USER NAME] and [PASSWORD] boxes are
correct.
[SCAN TO MAILBOX]
The mailbox name specified in the [MAILBOX NAME] box is correct.
• To install the PS printer driver on Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2, be sure
to install it with "LPR printing" or "IPP printing". The PS printer driver cannot be installed using Point and
Print.
• When [User Authentication] is enabled and the [Enable Guest User] check box is cleared on TopAccess,
USB Print cannot be performed due to an authentication failure.
