Poster Printing Instructions using HP DesignJet 800ps The Printer is located in HMMB 478. Students need to submit posters as PowerPoint files. There is a CITRIS poster template (PowerPoint file) which they should add their information to, and then submit the poster to the CITRIS staff, who will print the poster for them. Timeline. It takes approximately 20 minutes to print each poster. This assumes that there are no problems. For this reason it’s helpful that all posters are delivered to us 48 hours in advance of the event. (The procedure varies slightly, depending on whether or not the poster is a vertical or horizontal. See below) 1. Open the PowerPoint file. FOR POSTERS with a horizontal orientation: select, File > Page Setup a. In the little drop down menu select “custom” b. For Width: 40 c. For Height: 30 d. Number of slides: 1 e. Orientation: Landscape f. Notes Handouts, outline: Portrait g. Click “OK”. OR: 1. Open the PowerPoint file. FOR POSTERS with a vertical orientation: select, File > Page Setup h. Now select the Files menu and select “Print…” a. Select Printer from drop down menu: lwh478 b. Check the box: “Scale to fit” c. Click Properties button. d. In Layout Tab: Set Orientation at Landscape. No need to change other settings. e. In the Page Layout Tab, check boxes for “Enable scaling” and “Rotate”. f. Click on “Scaling options…” button, and in the Scaling options window select the “Width” Radio button. Set Width at 30, and set Height at 40. g. Click OK, then Click OK, Then click OK once more to print.
