Aviation database update instructions
To update your Jeppesen®, Obstacle, or Terrain database, you need to
connect your GPS unit to your computer. You also need to connect to
the Internet.
Access the Garmin Web site: http://www.garmin.com.
When the page opens, click Avionics.
Then click Aviation Database Updates near the bottom of the page.
You can also type the following link into your Web browser:
http://shop.garmin.com/aviation/databases/
Click Next to get started.

screen from what is shown here. If so, you

Locate the AVDWebUpdater
file you saved in Step Six (on
the Desktop of your computer).
Double-click the file to open it.

If you have trouble opening the file, you may need to go
back to the Internet and download it again. See Steps
Five and Six.
If you are a returning customer,
verify your personal information.
If you are a new customer, enter
your personal information.

At this time, turn your GPS on
and connect it to your computer
if you have not already done so.
Refer to your Owner’s Manual
for instructions. Then click Next.
Make sure the name of your
GPS unit appears and click Next.
If not, check the connection and
click Find Device.

Internet Browser window.
The Unit ID for your GPS unit
appears. Click Copy. Then click
Next.

Step Fourteen
Enter Coupon Code here.
If you are paying by credit
card, enter your credit card
information. Review and confirm
your payment information. Then
click Purchase or Redeem Coupon.
Click to select a payment option.
If you have a Coupon for a free
Jeppesen Update, click Redeem
a Coupon and enter the Coupon
Code in the space provided.

Step Fifteen
Now, you need to transfer your
Unlock Code to the AVDWebUpdater.
Click the mouse and drag it over the
Unlock Code to highlight it. Then click
the right mouse button and select
Copy from the menu that appears.
Your unlock code, password,
and order number appear. Print
this page for your records, and
keep the codes in a safe place!

Code so you can type it in later.

Step Sixteen
Go back to the AVDWebUpdater.
Follow the instructions and
then click Finish.
If you have an iQue 3600a,
synchronize now (press the
HotSync button) to finish
transferring data to your unit.
Click inside the field. Click the
right mouse button and select
Paste from the menu that
appears, or type in your Unlock
Code. Then click Next.
