Source - Source Select the input source to be displayed. Menu - Menu Press to open the OSD menu. Channel select CH UP (U/>/S/+/^) CH DOWN (V/</T/-/v) Channel UP increases the channel number or moves upward to the previous item on the OSD menu. Channel DOWN decreases the channel number or moves downward to the next item on the OSD menu. Volume adjust VOL UP (+/>/U/^/S) VOL DOWN (-/</V/v/T) Volume UP increases the volume or moves to the right on the OSD menu. Volume DOWN decreases the volume or moves to the left on the OSD menu. Mute/ Auto (for selected models only) Power indicator LED Mute Auto A Under TV mode, press the button to eliminate the sound. Press it again or press the volume adjust buttons directly to restore sound. Under PC mode, press it to adjust H. position and V. position of the screen. Video & Audio Connector - AV2 - AV In Use the included 4-IN-1 AV cable to connect external devices, such as a VCR, VCD, DVD player or video game console. Earphone 10 - Earphone Connect to earphones or external speaker with built-in amplifier. 1.4 Remote Control Description Icon Function Menu Menu Turn the on-screen display (OSD) menu on and off/ confirm your selection or setting. The indicator on the top left corner of the screen is green when the program has bilingual capabilities. Press to enable the function. MPX I/II Mute Mute Press this button to eliminate sound. Press it again or press the volume adjust buttons to restore sound. Sleep Press this button repeatedly to set the TV timer(15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes). A timer appears on the top left corner of the screen to show the time remaining. Cancel the timer by pressing the button until the displayed time disappears. Sleep Power Turn the TV power on or off. 11 Description Icon Function VOL UP increases the volume. VOL DOWN decreases the volume. Volume adjust Channel select PS / PT CH UP increases the channel number. CH DOWN decreases the channel number. Source SOURCE Select the input source to be displayed. The source is displayed on the top right corner of the screen. Notes: • For best results, use the remote control within a proper distance from the front of the TV. Do not exceed an angle of 30 degrees when pointing at the TV. • The operational distance may be shortened when the signal sensor is directly exposed to strong light. • Aim the transmitter on the remote control at the signal sensor and ensure that there are no obstacles between them. 12 2 2.1 2.1.1 Setting up your TV Basic Connections Power Connection 1 Connect one end of the power cord to the power adapter and the other end to the wall power outlet as illustrated. 2 Plug the power adapter connector into the DC-IN input jack on the rear panel of the TV. Connect to S-Video connector Note: • When connecting the S-Video connector and AV connectors at the same time, the priority is given to the S-Video connector. • The cables are color-coded (black, red, white, and yellow). For PC-IN jack, please refer to the second picture. 18 2.3 Using the TV 2.3.1 1 Press Turning the TV On and Off on the remote control or POWER on the control panel. The power LED indicator on the front of the TV changes from red to green, indicating that the power is on. 2 Press or POWER again. The power LED changes from green to red, indicating that the TV is off. Note: • Available only for selected models. 2.3.2 Switching Source Signals Press SOURCE on the control panel or Source on the remote control to select the incoming source signal set to TV source for channel search. 2.3.3 Channel Search 1 Press MENU on the control panel or Menu on the remote control, then select the TV menu. 2 Select an appropriate country. 3 Enter the auto scan item to run the channel searching. 4 To edit the channel location or fine tune the frequency, you can use the Manual Program and Program functions in the TV menu. 2.3.4 Selecting Channels • Press CHS to increase the channel number. Press CHT to decrease the channel number. • Enter the specific channel number by pressing the number buttons on the remote control. 2.3.5 Adjusting the Volume 1 Press VOL+ to increase the volume. Press VOL- to decrease the volume. 2 Press Mute to eliminate sound, and press Mute again or press the volume buttons to restore the original volume. 19 3 Adjusting On-Screen Display (OSD) Settings The On-Screen Display (OSD) menu system provides a quick and simple method to adjust the TV settings. The OSD menu can be accessed through the buttons either on the front control panel or the remote control. Note: The options available on the OSD may vary depending on the input signal source. 24 4 Troubleshooting Situation Solution • Connect the power cord properly. Check if the power LED is on or not. Press power on the control panel or remote control. Press source to cycle through connected video sources. Press channel up or channel down to switch to other TV stations. Make sure all cables are connected properly. No picture, or poor picture, sound is OK. • • Check the antenna and cable connections. Adjust the brightness in the OSD menus. Picture is not in color. • Adjust the saturation in the OSD menus. Picture is OK, no sound. • • • • Make sure the source device is functioning properly. Make sure the audio cable is connected securely. Turn the mute off. Press volume up on the control panel or remote control. One of the speakers has no sound. • Adjust the balance in the OSD menus. Cannot receive some TV channels using cable TV. • Try the Auto Program function in the OSD “TV Setting” menu. Want to reset TV settings. • Use the Preset function in the OSD menu. • If OSD items are colored in gray, the system is in a state such that those settings are not available. No picture and sound. Cannot operate menus. Screen image turns over. • • • • • • Make sure the video signal cable is connected properly. • Adjust the location of the antenna, placing it far from roads or sources of interference. Check the antenna and the video signal line connections. Snow appears on the screen. • Blurred or overlapped images. • • • Readjust the sharpness setting. Choose programs with high quality signals. Adjust the direction of the antenna or change the video signal cable. Remote control doesn’t work. • • • • Make sure the battery is inserted correctly. Replace the battery with a new one. Make sure the TV power cord is plugged in. Make sure the path between the remote control and the sensor is clear.
