When unpacking, check to make sure all the parts listed in the Parts List on page 7 are included. If any parts are missing or broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at the number shown on the cover of this manual as soon as possible.

You will need this manual for the safety warnings and precautions, assembly, operating, inspection, maintenance and cleaning procedures, parts list and assembly diagram. Keep your invoice with this manual. Write the invoice number on the inside of the front cover.

Keep this manual and invoice in a safe and dry place for future reference.

GENERAL SAFETY RULES

READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL INSTRUCTIONS

Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in serious injury.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS

Do not exceed the maximum weight capacity of 250 pounds for this

Wheelchair.

Before allowing a patient to use this Wheelchair, check with the patient’s physician(s) to make sure this Wheelchair is appropriate to meet the patient’s needs. Make sure a qualified attendant is always present when the

Wheelchair is in use.

Stay alert. Watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating the Wheelchair. The attendent should not push this product

while tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. A moment of inattention while operating this product may result in serious personal injury.

Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Contain long hair.

Keep your hair, clothing, and jewelry away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry, or long hair can be caught in moving parts.

Keep proper footing and balance at all times when pushing the Wheelchair.

Proper footing and balance enables better control of this Wheelchair in unexpected situations.

Always lock the Cable Brakes (13) on both Rear Wheels (11) whenever a person enters or exits the Wheelchair.

Use the Wheelchair only on flat, level, dry floor/ground surfaces. Never use the Wheelchair on inclines steeper than 9%. The Wheelchair will become unstable and difficult to control when rolling up or down steep inclines.

Keep children away from the Wheelchair. Do not allow children to ride in, or on, or push the Wheelchair without adult supervision.

To avoid tipping, do not lean forward out of the Wheelchair further than

the length of the Armrests (4). Do not attempt to reach objects by moving forward on the Wheelchair Seat (2). Do not attempt to reach objects by reaching between your knees. Do not lean over the top of the Back Rest (1), as doing so will shift your center of gravity and may cause you to tip over.

Never attempt to stand on the WheelcChair.

When transferring to or from the Wheelchair, do not stand on the Foot

Plates (9).

To avoid injury while folding and unfolding the Wheelchair, make sure hands and fingers do not become pinched in moving parts.

13.

Store the Wheelchair out of reach of children and other untrained

persons. This product is not intended to be played with by children.

14.

Use the right product for the job. Do not attempt to force a small product to do the work of a larger product. There are certain applications for which this product was designed. It will do the job better and more safely at the rate forwhich it was intended. Do not modify this product, and do not use this product for a purpose for which it was not intended.

Maintain product with care. Keep the Wheelchair dry and clean.

Properly maintained products are less likely to malfunction and are easier to control. Do not use a damaged Wheelchair. Tag damaged products “Do not

use” until repaired.

Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, and any other condition that may affect the Wheelchair’s operation. If

damaged, have the Wheelchair serviced before using. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained products.

17.

Wheelchair service must be performed only by qualified repair personnel.

Service or maintenance performed by unqualified personnel could result in a risk of injury.

When servicing this product, use only identical replacement parts. Follow instructions in the “Inspection, Maintenance, And Cleaning” section of this

manual. Use of unauthorized parts or failure to follow maintenance instructions may create a risk of injury.

19.

Maintain labels and nameplates on this product. These carry important information. If unreadable or missing, contact Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement.

WARNING! The warnings, cautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood by the operator that common sense and caution are factors which cannot be built into this product, but must be supplied by the operator.

WARNING! Cable Brakes are backup stopping devices. Never push the

Transport Chair so fast that it can not be stopped without Cable Brakes being engaged.

ASSEMBLY AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE:

For additional information regarding the parts mentioned in the following pages, refer to the Assembly Diagram on page 7.

Remove the Wheelchair from the shipping carton, and position yourself so that you are facing one side of the folded Wheelchair. (See Figure A.)

Tilt the top of the Wheelchair toward you with the Rear Wheel (11) and Front

Wheel (12) farthest from you slightly off the ground. Press down on the Seat (2), and the Wheelchair will unfold smoothly. (See Figure A.)

Pull up on the left and right Hand Grips (3) until the Lock Buttons (5) hold the

Hand Grips securely in the vertical position. (See Figure A.)

Attach the left and right Swing-Away Foot Rests (14) by lining up the holes and pegs on the front of the Wheelchair Frame. Then, swing the Foot Rests into position. NOTE: Always swing out the Foot Rests before standing up from the

Wheelchair. (See Figure A.)

Lower the left and right Foot Plates (9) into position. (See Figure A.)

To fold the Wheelchair, turn the Foot Plates (9) inward. Position yourself so that you are facing one side of the Wheelchair. Depress the Lock Button (5) and lower the Hand Grips (3) completely. Tilt the Wheelchair toward you with the Rear Wheel (11) and Front Wheel (12) farthest from you slightly off the ground. Then, pull the Armrests (4) together. Be careful not to pinch fingers or hands. (See Figure A.)

NOTE: The Wheelchair may be used without the Swing-Away Foot Rests (14) by a person capable of using his/her feet to self-propel the chair, or when needed to maneuver in close quarters.

INSPECTION, MAINTENANCE, AND CLEANING

Before each use: Inspect the general condition of the Wheelchair. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, cracked or broken parts, and any other condition that may affect its safe operation. If abnormal noise or vibration occurs, have the problem corrected before further use.

Do not use damaged equipment.

Before each use: Examine the Cable Brakes (13) for proper operation. If necessary, turn the Adjusting Nut on the left Brake Line clockwise to tighten the

Brake tension or counterclockwise to loosen the Brake tension. Repeat this Step for the right Brake Line. NOTE: Make sure to adjust both Brake Lines evenly.

Before using the Wheelchair, always test the Cable Brakes for proper operation after adjusting. (See Figure B.)

When necessary: Lubricate all moving parts of the Wheelchair. Keep the gray, rubber Tires free of oil, grease, dirt, and debris at all times.

To clean: Wash the Wheelchair with clean, warm water and a mild detergent.

Then, dry. Do not use solvents.

When storing: Store the Wheelchair in a clean, dry, safe location out of reach of children and other non-authorized users.

CAUTION! All maintenance, service, or repairs not listed in this manual are only to be attempted by a qualified service technician.
