2. With cord hook to back,piecethe body of the oleaser onte base.Pushtogetherfirmly. Insertlongersorew (1V,')into back of bedyofthe cJeanertosecure, (Diagram 1).
3. Placehandleontothe bodyof the cleaner,(Diagram2),
4. Insert clip ontool caddy into hole onbackof handle, (Diagram3), Bring tool caddydownto fit against handle.Insertshorter screw (1"} to securecaddyandhandlesections,
Insertsecond shorter ecrewjust abovecord release(Diagram 4).

OPERATING.
1. Quick CordRelease: To releaseyour cord withoutunwindingit turn the top cord hook to the left or right. Your power cord will nowpull off in one coil, (Diagram 1),
2. Keep the cord out ofthe way while you vacuumby snappingit into the cord guideonthe back of the handle, (Diagram2).
3, Plugcord into electricaloutlet,
4. Step onthe power switch to turn onthe cleaner. Switch is grey andlocatedon the base of the unit. (]) is the internationalsymbol for power.
FLOOR/CARPET
CLEANING:
5. Releasethe handle. With your foot, depressthe handle releasepedal on the left side of the base, (Diagram 3).
6. Move the handleandadjustit to the desired position for (a) storing the upright, (b) operating the cleaner,and (e)depress the handle releasepedal againto cleanunder low
furniture, (Diagram4).
ABOVEFLOORCLEANING:Cleanermust be in the locked upright position to lift the rotating brush off the carpet when cleaningabove the floor.
Turncleaner OFFbeforeattachingor removinghose.
1, Snap cleanerintoits uprightposition.
2. Lift door on the nozzleand inserthose endwith nozzleconnectoruntil lockedin position,(Diagram5).
3. Pullthe hose handle from sideof cleaner.
CAUTION:Brushagitator continuesto rotate whilehoseis removed or in use andat all limes while cleaneris on. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, andall portsofbody
away from brusharea while cleaner is on.
4, Chooseany of the handyaccessoriesor usethe hose alone. Simplypushthe attachmentfirmly onto the endof the wand or hose handle.
To removehosefrom nozzle,press latchon nozzleconnectorandpuff up, (Diagram6).
NOTE:Removehosefrom nozzlewhencleaningcarpers toinsure propercleaningperformance,
CAUTION:Revolvingbrushcontinuesto rotate while cleanerhandle is in uprightposition. Avoidtippingcleaner or setting on furniture,fringedarea tugs, or carpeted
stairs duringtool use.

SCENT TABLETS (OPTIONAL): Asyou vacuum,air freshenertabletsleaveyour home smelling cleanand freshwhilestale odorsdisappear. The tablets arenon-toxic
andformulated to lastthe life of the disposablepaperbag. TO USE,removean airfreshenertablet from the wrapperandplaceit directlyintothe disposablepaperbag. Add a
new tablet everytime you changeyour paperbag.
NOTE:Unplug

1. To Remove:Squeezefront panel releaseleverandpulltowards you (Diagram 1).
2. Grasp cardboardcollarof paperbagwith bethhandsandpull pastraisedlockingtabs onthe dirt tube. Disposeof oldpaperbag, (Diagram 2).
3. IMPORrrANT:Extendbegawayfrom holebefore installing.Pressin openingto clearpaperaway from hole, (Diagram3).
4. To Install: Push cardboardcollar pastraised locking tabs on the dirt tube with both bands. Be sure paper bag is fully extendedand tuckedin at the top andbottom,
(Diagram4).
5. Replacefront panel by puttingthe two bottom tabs in theslots on the vacuum.Pushfront panelso release leverat_chee, (Diagram5).

BELT OR BRUSHROLL REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT:

NOTE:Unplug cleaner before changing be# or brushroll. Turncleanerover. Baseshould layfiatandface up. Screwdriver required. Toremove
nozzleguard, removetwo screws near rollers. Next,releasetwo hooks on nozzle guard by pushing outward asshown by the arrows,(Diagram 1).
Gently push up on rear of nozzle guard. (NOTE:Some models may also have two screws at the rear of the nozzleguard).
TO REMOVEBELT:Be sure belt is off motor shaft. Liftandremovebrushroll. Disposeof old belt, (Diagram2).
TO REPLACEBELT:
1. Slip bruehroll through belt. Placebelt in areaof brushrollwithoutbristles, (Diagram3).
2. Loop belt aroundmot(x shaft, (Diagram4).
3. Insertbrushroll intoside holder#1 andthen#2. Follow directionof a_rowson brushendcape+(Diagram5a,). Rotatebrushrollto makesurebeltis not twisted, (Diagram5).
4. Replacenozzleguard. Match the front tabs to theslotson thenozzle basefirst. Swingdownto snaphooks, Pressfirmlyon entire nozzleguardto fit intoplace. Replaceeli
screws, (DiagramB).
IMPORTANT: Rotate brushroll by hand before starting cleaner.
HOW TO CHECKFORA CLOG: If there is no suction at the end ofthe hose,a dog may be in the baseofthe unit.To clear clog: 1. Removehosefrom
the nozzle.Presslatchon nozzleconnectorandpullup. Lift dooronthe nozzle endgentlyclearthe blockage,(Diagram 7) or 2. Removenozzle
guard(Seebeldbrushroll removalsection above- Pg. 4) andgentlyclearthe blockage.
