Do not unplug charger by pulling on cord.

Do not damage the charger cord. Never carry or pull the charger unit by the cord, use cord as a handle, close door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners.

Keep cord away from heated surfaces.

Do not use an extension cord. Charger should plug directly into electrical outlet.

Do not put any object into appliance openings, use with blocked opening, or restrict air flow.

Do not use with any opening blocked.

Do not expose hair, loose clothing, fingers or body parts to openings or moving parts.

Do not pick up hot, burning or smoking objects such as cigarettes, matches or hot ashes.

Do not pick up flammable or combustible materials (lighter fluid, petrol, kerosene, etc.) or use in the presence of explosive liquids or vapours.

Do not use appliance in an enclosed space filled with vapors given off by oil base paint, paint thinner, some moth proofing substances, flammable dust, or other explosive or toxic vapours.

Do not pick up toxic material (chlorine bleach, ammonia, drain cleaner, petrol, etc.)

Do not allow to be used as a toy.

Not intended for use by young children or infirm persons without supervision.

Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

Do not use for any purpose other than described in this User’s Guide.

Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments – use of attachments not provided or sold by BISSELL may cause fire, electric shock or injury.

Use only the charger supplied by BISSELL

(packaged with your appliance) to recharge your BISSELL Vacuum.

Use charger unit only in standard electrical outlet (220-240V~50/60 Hz.).

Keep openings free of dust, lint, hair, etc.

Unplug charger unit from outlet before

Unplug by grasping the plug, not the cord.

Be extra careful when cleaning stairs.

Turn off all controls when finished cleaning.

Do not charge the unit outdoors.

Your BISSELL Hand Vacuum contains rechargeable nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries. Do not incinerate batteries or they can explode when exposed to high temperatures.

Battery cell leaks can occur under extreme conditions. If battery cell contents comes in contact with the skin:

Flush immediately with warm water for at least 15 minutes, then wash with soap and water.

If battery cell contents comes in contact with the eyes:

Flush immediately with clean water for a minimum of 15 minutes.

Seek medical attention.

A ssembly no tools are required for assembly; simply insert foot into body of unit until you hear a click.

before charging, make sure unit is in the off position.

1.

Insert the charging adapter plug into the charging port on the back of the unit.

2.

Plug the adapter into the wall outlet. The red indicator light will illuminate and remain on when plugged into wall outlet. Charge the unit completely for 24 hours prior to first use.

note: the adapter may become warm during charging – this is normal.

3.

When the unit is fully discharged, approximately 16 hours of charging is required for the battery to regain full capacity.

remove hand vac by pressing the release button.

Power switch is located under handle and should be depressed while cleaning is taking place.

Easily clean messes on furniture, stairs, and other hard to reach areas.

For hard to reach messes, use the integrated crevice tool. To access crevice tool, pull on tab indicated by arrow on front of hand vac nozzle. Listen for click to know crevice tool is ready to use.

When done cleaning, simply push crevice tool back into unit.

aintenance and care

to maintain maximum cleaning performance, the following maintenance steps must be performed:

emptying the dirt cup

dirt cup should be emptied before debris reaches the full line on cup.

1.

Turn power oFF (o) and remove hand vacuum from unit, as directed in step 1

"Cleaning with the detachable hand vac".

2.

Hold hand vacuum vertically and depress the release button to release dirt container.

3.

Gently pull dirt container away from the hand vacuum grip and remove the filter.

Empty dirt into waste container.

4.

replace filter back into the dirt container and attach dirt container to hand vacuum until it snaps securely in place.

cleaning or Replacing the filter

the key to maximum performance is having a clean filter. cleaning the filter after each use will help your vacuum operate at peak efficiency.

use only genuine bissell replacement filters in your bissell vacuum. to purchase, please call local bissell consumer services .

to clean filter:

1.

Turn power oFF (o).

2.

remove the dirt container from the hand vacuum, as directed in step 1 "Emptying the dirt cup" on page 6.

3.

remove filter and tap firmly against the inside of a waste container, removing any visible dirt.

replace filter back into the dirt container and attach dirt container to hand vacuum until it snaps securely in place.

note: after heavy usage, you may clean the filter by washing it gently by hand in warm water and mild dish detergent. Rinse thoroughly and make certain it is completely dry before replacing it.

brush roll and brush roll belt maintenance

the brush roll may accumulate debris such as strings, hair and fibers. this type of debris can wrap around the brush and diminish its ability to clean effectively. to remove brush roll for cleaning:

1.

Turn power oFF (o). remove foot assembly from unit and turn over to access the brush roll.

2.

remove three Phillips head screws to remove the belt cover.

3.

To remove brush roll, pull on the brush near the belt side. Clean off hair or other debris from brush roll.

4.

Place cleaned brush roll back into foot of unit by aligning the non-belt side so it's seated in the nozzle.

5.

Pivot the brush roll so the belt end slides into the slot in the nozzle.

6.

replace the belt cover and secure with three screws. Attach foot assembly on unit.

brush roll reset: if larger debris becomes lodged in the foot of the unit and the brush roll shuts off, turn the unit off and remove the obstruction. Wait approximately 15 seconds for the motor to cool down before turning back on. brush will function again after allowing time to cool down. brush roll belt replacement: if the brush roll belt should break, please call local bissell consumer services to purchase replacement belt.

Replacement instructions:

1.

Turn power oFF (o). remove foot assembly from unit and turn over to access the brush roll belt.

2.

remove three Phillips head screws to remove the belt cover.

3.

Locate broken belt.

4.

replace belt by sliding the belt over the motor pully and then sliding brush in.

Alighn the belt on the groove of the brush roll.

5.

Place brush roll back into foot of unit.

6.

replace the belt cover and secure with three screws.

7.

rotate brush manually to properly seat belt.

8.

Attach foot assembly on unit.

disposal of batteries

if your lift-off floors & more is to be disposed of, the batteries should be removed and disposed of properly.

1.

imPoRtant: Unplug charger. remove from charging base and fully

|discharge hand vacuum.

remove dirt container from handle.

remove (5) Phillips head screws on the handle and cover.

WaRning:

This product contains a rechargeable nickel metal hydride battery (sometimes referred to as a “NiMH” battery) pack. The average life of a NiMH battery is 5 to 7 years, depending on frequency of use.

Proper removal and disposal of

NiMH batteries is required.

Separate left and right cover.

remove the entire battery assembly from the cover.

6.

remove (3) Phillips head screws between the motor and battery bracket.

7.

Pull the motor, PCB, fuse, and inner wire through the middle of the battery bracket, separating the battery bracket and single battery from the motor, PCB, and inner wire.

8.

Cut wires from the PCB and fuse to the battery bracket.

9.

Keep battery pack together – Do NoT separate individual batteries. For specific disposal instructions, please contact your local authorities for requirements and regulations on safe disposal or recycling facilities in your area.

10.

Discard remainder of product

caution: Disconnecting the battery will destroy the appliance and void the warranty.
