Frequently Answers and Questions

How do I add oil to the jack?

With the saddle fully lowered, locate and remove the oil filler plug. Fill with oil until ~3/16” above the inner cylinder as seen from the oil filler plug hole. Reinstall the oil filler plug.

What type of oil should I use?

Use only a good grade hydraulic jack oil. Avoid mixing different types of fluid and Never use brake fluid, turbine oil, transmission fluid, motor oil or glycerin. Improper fluid can cause failure of the jack and the potential for sudden and immediate loss of load. We recommend Mobil DTE13M or equivalent.

What should I do if the jack won't lift?

Check to see if the release valve is tightly closed. If it is, then there may be an overload condition. Make sure the jack is not overloaded and that the release valve is tightly closed.

What should I do if the jack won't lower?

If the reservoir is overfilled, drain the fluid to the proper level. If the linkages are binding, clean and lubricate the moving parts.
