Scamp
Product information sheet
Chordette
The Chordette Scamp is a stereo
amplifier with control for both digital and
analogue inputs and has been designed
as a small but extremely capable
amplifier for your system. With it’s own
RCA phono inputs, USB input and Gain
control, this little power house can be
used as a stand alone integrated
amplifier from a single source or a power
amplifier when combined with the
Chordette Prime. This gives great
flexibility and with the switchable
bridged mono feature, an entire
Chordette system can be built without
replacing any item.
Although the Scamp is small, very little
has been compromised. The audio
response is still state of the art with
exceptional performance and low noise
levels to match.
Encased in our
trademark solid aluminium billet
metalwork chassis the Scamp looks as
good as it sounds and shows off the
engineering design both inside and out.
When bridged, this compact beauty will
supply an output in excess of 80 watts
rms of pure music power – this truly
amazing unit does this without resorting
to fatiguing ‘D’ Class digital technology
but uses instead an innovated common
drain, vertical mosfet design, class ‘AB’
SCAMP
amplifier supplied by a truly innovated 4
transformer 500 kHz unique power
supply.
The Scamp is a 2 x 40w Stereo amplifier
with built-in USB DAC, High Gain
Analogue input and a rotary volume
control on the rear. The Scamp can also
be bridged into an 80w Mono by
pressing the switch at the rear. The
Scamp can form a complete system with
the Chordette Mogul or a PC (laptop)
into the USB socket and a set of
speakers. The high gain input is useful so
that music can be played from the low
level signal from a typical MP3 player via
a jack to two phono leads and still give
a very good performance. The Chordette
Scamp additionally has an overload
protection circuit that will prevent
damage should the customer decide to
use a PC as the source and have the
settings set to maximum. This special fold
back circuit limits the output which will
recover automatically when the settings
are set correctly and the volume level has
been significantly reduced. This will also
work on the analogue inputs if they have
been overloaded, simply turn the volume
control down and up again and the amp
will recover and work normally without
the need to be turned off and on again.
