Use "Encoder" dial knob to:
> change channel in MR mode
> change frequency in VFO mode
(Press F for bigger MHz steps)
> Select menu entries (CALL+Power On for menu.)
Magic F key
activates BLUE
functions
Push to Talk!
Release to Listen!
F + PTT to change
power level
LED lights during transmit
(if it doesn't, your battery is dead.)
Display light
MR for Memory channel Recall.
F + LOCK to lock/unlock keypad
Select special CALL channel
Monitor
(Squelch override)
VFO for Variable Frequency Operation
To program memory channels:
> Dial or Key in frequency in VFO mode.
Select repeater offset, CTCSS mode, etc.
> Press and hold F for 1 second.
> Dial in channel number desired
Solid 5= channel in use, blinkng = empty.
>Press MR to store or F to cancel.
Select CTCSS/PL
Repeater offset.
Reverse transmit/
receive frequencies.
Hokd [F] 1 second then
>T/CT to set PL freq.
>REV to set rptr offset
Repeater Offset: +=Plus
-=Minus blank=Simplex
Current Frequency Display
Changes for Transmit vs. Receive
CTCSS/PL Tone mode for repeaters
T = transmit CT=Trans plus Receive
blank = not in use
Memory Channel
in MR mode
LOCKed keypad
F Key Active
Transmit Power Level:
blank=high power
L=low EL=extra low
Battery Save
mode
Bar graph shows:
> Receive signal strength
> Transmit battery charge level
Other indicators you don't (usually) want to see:
PAG=pager mode
DT=DTMF squelch mode
TX.S=Transmit inhibit APO=Auto Power Off
