COMPANY PROFILE
MPower UPS was established in 2005 with the
aim of providing a high quality service, which
was honest and reliable and which met each
customer's diverse needs. Initially established
as a UPS maintenance provider, MPower quickly
diversified into selling and installing new UPS
systems due to customer demand.
Founders Michael Brooks and Farid Ahmed had
many years of experience in the UPS and Drives
industry between them and were able to offer
maintenance contracts on a wide range of UPS
systems. They were soon joined by an
experienced team of engineers giving a strong
UK wide coverage for emergency call outs,
maintenance and installations. As a result of their
experience they were successful in winning a
large contract in the nuclear industry.
By 2010 MPower had grown out of their Rake
offices in West Sussex and had purchased
bigger premises with offices and warehousing
facilities in Alton, Hampshire. It was also in 2010
that MPower first began entering into
discussions with Inform Electronic of Turkey who
were looking to enter the UK market at the same
time as MPower were actively looking for
a new manufacturer of high calibre UPS.

Following many meetings and visits to the
Inform premises in Istanbul, MPower were
so impressed with the quality of the UPS, the
attention to detail, the manufacturing facilities
and the commitment to continuous research
and development that we signed a contract
to become Inform's sole UK distributor. The
Inform premises in Istanbul are geared to
manufacturing and assembling all component
parts of the wide range of UPS meaning that
they are in complete control of design and
quality at each stage of manufacture. Recently,
Inform have been acquired by Legrand Group
who continue to invest heavily in research and
development with the aim of Inform products
being at the forefront of the UPS industry.
Inform UPS systems, static transfer switches
and battery cabinets have now been installed
in an ever growing range of sites across the UK.
Satisfied customers include headquarters
of international banks, London hotels,
Data Centres, Government Offices, Police
headquarters and the regional offices of a wide
range of UK and international companies.
SERVICE DIVISION
MPower UPS Ltd has the facilities to offer a full
service and maintenance package on UPS
and related equipment from a whole range
of manufacturers. This means we can have
trained engineers available for you 24 hours
a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
We provide a complete solution for all your power
protection requirements as one of the UK's leading
suppliers and maintainers of emergency and back
up UPS power systems, emergency lighting, line
conditioners, diesel generators and battery banks.
Maintenance Contracts
All UPS systems need to be serviced regularly in order to
ensure they are operating correctly and that their batteries
are in good working order. A maintenance contract
ensures, as a minimum, yearly planned UPS maintenance
visits by a fully trained engineer, including a battery
inspection. Comprehensive contracts can also include all
parts and labour and guaranteed response times to site.
All contract customers have access to 24 hour emergency
call out facility and technical back up.
Emergency
Should you find yourself in an emergency with a failed
UPS, then we can assist even if we have not maintained
or installed your UPS. We have UPS and generators
available for hire as a short term solution and can have
them on site, installed and commissioned within 24 hours.
Battery Testing and Maintenance
During a service visit we undertake routine maintenance
tasks which include checking the open-circuit battery and
UPS float voltages, inspecting the physical condition
of terminals and connections and logging battery
impedance to predict the end of the batteries' useful life.
All works are carried out in line with our Environment
Policy as part of our commitment to reduce the impact
of pollution and the causes of climate change
wherever possible.
Battery Replacement and Disposal
Replacement and disposal of batteries is strictly governed
by regulations and must be carried out by licensed disposal
companies following prescribed methods.
We are experienced in ecologically acceptable removal
and disposal of UPS systems and consumable parts,
from batteries to complete power systems.
Generator Services
Standby generators provide vital back up when there is
prolonged power failure, however they are often left
unused for long periods of time. This means that they
require regular service to make sure they are ready for use
at the critical time. An alternative and cost effective option
is the hire of a generator from MPower UPS which can be
on site in a matter of hours
We can offer a full installation service for all our generator
systems, or alternatively we will be happy to provide your
appointed electrical contractor with any assistance that
they may require.
Emergency Lighting
The loss of mains electricity could be the result of a fire
or a power cut and the normal lighting supplies fail. This
may lead to sudden darkness and a possible danger to the
occupants, either through physical danger or panic.
MPower can supply and maintain emergency lighting
systems from all of the major manufacturers. Please contact
us with your exact requirements. Remember, if your battery
is old and failing and cannot support your emergency
lighting for the required time, it could cost lives.
Load Bank Testing
We can offer the security of knowing that your critical load
is fully protected and that your power protection solution
is fully optimised through providing a load bank test. We
can provide a mobile load bank to your site and a trained
engineer to carry out the tests. Full load bank testing can
simulate maximum load and fully tests the whole electrical
infrastructure, including switchgear, generators and auto
change over systems, identifying any possible risks
to your critical load. A written report is provided.
Power Factor Correction
Power Factor is a measure of how efficiently electricity
is being used. We can complete a site survey for you,
measure your power factor and suggest ways to improve
this. Effective power factor correction can lead to lower
energy bills due to increased efficiency in
electrical consumption.

Working with our Customers
In order for us to fully understand your power
protection needs and therefore be able to offer
you the best advice, one of our team of skilled
engineers will visit your premises to conduct
a free site survey.
We will assess your critical power requirements
with regard to your present usage and to allow
for future growth. We will advise on location,
taking into account environmental and practical
restraints, and on electrical works which may
need to be carried out in preparation for the
installation of the new UPS. We will discuss run
time with you and advise on external battery
requirements, including configuration options.
We can advise on and supply all necessary
switchgear, monitoring software and generators.
We will help you decide on the best technical
solution to suit your needs as well as an
appropriate service plan to keep your UPS
system in sound working order.
Optional Extras
Switchgear
With all our systems we can supply appropriate switchgear
from various manufacturers made for your specific
requirements.

Battery Isolators for systems from 1kVA to 800kVA
•
Single UPS Bypass Panels for all systems. These
include all Single phase UPS, Three Phase Input
to Single Phase output UPS and Three Phase
Input Output UPS.
•
Multiple Bypass Panels are available for all the
above to parallel up to 9 UPS modules for high
reliability of power, or for high power ratings
of up to 6.4MVA.
Software
With all our systems we can supply appropriate software
to monitor the UPS units and control automatic shutdown
of servers via serial ports or over local area networks.
GSM Remote Monitoring
SD3 was originally developed for the security industry;
with the addition of an integral battery pack it is ideally
suited to UPS applications.
It can handle up to eight separate inputs for the UPS
or any other site system (e.g. door entry, generators etc.)
Text or speech messages may be sent to up to 10 numbers
via GSM and/or land line. Features include an internal
temperature sensor with an adjustable set point to provide
an additional over temperature alarm.
After Sales Service
Once your order is placed with us our project management
team will be in touch to co-ordinate delivery schedules and
all required works . They will be the single point of contact
for you throughout the installation process and can arrange
or liaise with external electrical contractors as required.
Our skilled engineers will be on site at a time to suit
yourselves to install and commission the UPS and provide
a final hand over to you. Your new Inform UPS is covered
by a two year warranty giving you peace of mind.

The award winning team of experienced
engineers and technicians has been recognised
for their achievements in developing the new
generation, digital signal processor UPS, and
in 2005 they gained the 'Technology Innovation
and Creativity Reward' for the three phase
IGBT rectifier UPS.
Inform Machinery Park
Inform has an air-conditioned PCB assembling facility
at its plant, created especially for the production
of electrostatic sensitive assemblies. Furthermore,
in addition to its automatic assembly lines there are manual
assembly lines for producing transformers, coils and
connectors and other bespoke assemblies. There is the
capacity to produce 300 million components per annum.
Integrated Production
A step apart from other UPS manufacturers, Inform has
the ability to produce every part of its products on its own
premises, including circuit boards, mechanical parts, cables
and transformers. Final assembly and testing is also carried
out at the Inform factory complex in Istanbul, Turkey.
