Catalog Data
1.
Submit electrical data for all motors and controls. Data shall
clearly indicate motor starting requirements.
2.
Submit color chips of available finishes. Color selections for the
unit shall be made by the Architect at time of submittal.
3.
Submit Operating and Maintenance Manuals including schedule
for lubrication and related servicing.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
A.
Fixtures shall be free from flaws and blemishes with clear, smooth, bright
finished surfaces.
B.
Visible parts of fixture brass and accessories shall be heavily chromeplated. Chrome-plated white metal will not be acceptable.
C.
Fixtures shall be the product of one manufacturer. Fittings of the same
type shall be the product of one manufacturer.
D.
Protect fixtures against use and damage during construction.
E.
Check millwork shop drawings. Confirm location and size of fixtures and
openings before rough-in and installation.

and performance standard only, it is understood that equivalent fixtures by
acceptable manufacturers will be acceptable.

Water Closet Floor Mounted: American Standard 2234.015
Madera water-saver 1.5-gallons per flush, white vitreous china,
siphon jet, elongated bowl. Sloan Royal 111 water-saver quiet
flush valve with integral check-stop, cap, tailpiece, vacuum
breaker, wall and spud flanges. Olsonite #95 white open front seat,
less cover.
WC-1H
Water Closet Floor Mounted (Handicap): American Standard
2305.100 Madera water-saver elongated 1.6-gallons per flush, 16
1/8” high vitreous china, siphon jet, floor flange and bolt caps.
Sloan Royal 111 water-saver quiet flush valve with integral checkstop, cap, tailpiece, vacuum breaker, wall and spud flanges.
Olsonite #95 white open front seat less cover.
U-1
Urinal Wall Hung: American Standard 6601.012 Lynbrook
vitreous china water-saver 1.0-gallon per flush blowout flush with
flushing rim, top spud. Sloan Royal 180-1 quiet flush valve with
integral check-stop, cap, tailpiece, vacuum breaker, wall and spud
flanges mounted at proper height for use by the handicapped.

Round, white vitreous china, self-rimming, 2411.015 perforated
grid drain and tailpiece and Symmons Scot S-60-H, metering, selfclosing, temperature selection faucet. Blade handle, 4” centers
0.25 gallon per minute per 30 seconds. Insulate trap and hot and
cold water supplies for handicapped.

Lavatory (Handicap): American Standard 0355.012, 20" long by
18" wide, white vitreous china, drilled for J. R. Smith Fig 700-M31
floor mounted concealed arm chair carrier, 2411.015 perforated
grid drain Simmons Scott S-60-H, metering, self-closing,
temperature selection faucet, blade handle, 4” centers 0.25 gallon
per minute per 30 seconds. Insulate trap, hot and cold water
supplies for handicapped.
JS-1
Service Sink: American Standard 7740.020 Florwell corner model,
3" outlet, acid resisting enameled cast iron, 7745.011 removable
vinyl-coated; rim guard, 7721,038 with strainer and socket,
Chicago No. 897 combination faucet with 369 level handles,
vacuum breaker spout, 3/4" hose thread outlet, pail hook, wall
brace, flanged female adjustable integral stop arms.

Sink: Elkay LR ADA 2022-65 20” long by 22" wide x 6 1/2” deep,
18-gauge 302 stainless steel, self-rimming, undercoated, LK-35
stainless steel removable basket strainer with tailpiece, single
drilling for Chicago 350 faucet with gooseneck spout, with aerator,
cold water only.

Sink: Elkay LRADA - 2022-65, 20" long by 22" wide x 6 1/2”
deep, 18-gauge 302 stainless steel, self-rimming, undercoated, LK35 stainless steel basket strainer with tailpiece, drilling for Chicago
50-E3 double pantry, faucet with gooseneck and swing spout.

Lab Sink: 14” long by 10” wide by 6” deep epoxy resin sink with
trim; provide rough-in and final connection trap- Enfield 1 1/2”
universal trap mechanical joints.

Drinking Fountain: Barrier free wall mounted stainless steel
drinking fountain, freeze resistant Haws 1005FR (2) required for
dual height mounting, push button operated pneumatic valve
system, in wall mounting plate and vandal-resistant bottom plate.
Concealed “P” trap and stop behind access panel.
HB-1
Hose bib: Outside Building: Woodford model B65 freezeless
anti-contamination automatic drain, chrome finish brass casting
box and cover. 3/4” male hose thread with vacuum breaker, loose
tee key operated hydrant and box door.
HB-2
Hose bib: Inside Building: Woodford Model #24P, 3/4”
lockshield wall faucet with integral flange, lockshield, loose key
and 3/4” hose end. All units shall have polished chrome-plated
body and vacuum breaker.
EWC-1
Electric Water Cooler High/Low: Elkay HWBFA8L for barrier free
service, surface-mounted, stainless steel receptor and cabinet, push
bar flexi-guard bubbler, lifetime lubricated hermetic compressor,
continuous-coil seamless copper cooling unit, insulation; 1/5 HP,
120 volt, single phase motor. Capacity of 8.0 gph of 50oF water at
80o inlet, 90oF ambient air.
ES-1
Emergency Shower and Eyewash: Haws 8300 combination unit,
10” abs drench shower rigid stainless steel pull rod (length to meet
ADA) stay open chrome plated brass ball valve, 11” stainless steel
bowl, stay-open chrome plated ball valve push flag operated.
FD-1
Floor Drain: Toilet room, J.R. Smith Fig. 2010-A cast iron body,
5" diameter nickel bronze strainer, trap primer connection, vandal
proof screws, cast iron "P" trap.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.01
INSTALLATION
A.
Install each fixture with appropriate trap. Traps and nuts exposed to view
and in casework shall be chrome-plated cast brass "P" trap. Traps and nuts
concealed in water coolers shall be cast brass. Provide cast iron traps
where concealed in wall construction, ceiling spaces for below floors. All
cast brass traps shall be readily removable for servicing. Traps used in acid
resistant piping systems shall be made of the same material as specified for
the piping.
B.
Waste extensions exposed to view and in casework, running from the trap
to the finished architectural surface, shall be chrome-plated 17 gauge
brass.
C.
Supplies to fixtures shall be chrome-plated, rigid or flexible brass with
appropriate reducers and escutcheons. Supplies serving fixture supply trim
not having integral stops shall be provided with loose key stops. Supplies
and stops shall be straight Eastman 74RSLK-SBT, angle Eastman 74RLKSBT.
D.
Support wall-hung lavatories, urinals, electric water coolers, water closets
and special fixtures with commercial grade chair carriers especially
selected to suit installation requirements and available wall thickness or
chase spaces. Carriers may be double where applicable.
E.
Mount wall-hung fixtures at proper heights above finished floor for regular
use and use by the handicapped as designated on the Drawings.
F.
Fasten floor-mounted water closets to floor flange with brass bolts, nuts
and washers. Provide bolt caps.
G.
Provide hose-type faucets and connections with vacuum breakers.
H.
After installation and prior to final acceptance, remove fixture labels,
thoroughly clean fixtures with mild detergent and water solution, rinse
with clean water, and wipe dry.
I.
Supply piping dropping through ceiling to supply emergency shower shall
be supported above ceiling to prevent movement in any direction.
J.
Fixtures with hangers or supporting arms shall have hangers or arms
securely mounted on a 1/4" thick x 6" wide steel wall plate which shall
extend at least one study beyond the first and last fixture mounting points.
Concealed arm assemblies shall be attached to plates by four 3/8" x 1-1/4"
steel bolts and nuts, and hangers and exposed arms by 5/16" minimum full
thread steel studs and jamb nuts. Plates shall be drilled and tapped at the
time of fixture installation. Where light weight steel studs are used, fixture
supports shall have manufactured floor mounted legs for attachment of
supporting arms.
K.
Exposed to view and in casework supplies and wastes to wall shall be
provided with polished chrome-plated cast brass wall escutcheons.
L.
Protect fixtures against use and damage during construction.
M.
Attach sign to backsplash of each sink served with industrial water that
says: "NON-POTABLE WATER - DO NOT DRINK." Sign shall be
lamacoid plastic with black letters, white background and attached by
adhesive.
N.
Insulate the trap and supplies of lavatories where indicated on drawings as
handicap fixture. See Section 15250 for insulation.
