New Features in This Release
Feature
Pulse Workspace - SAML
based Onboarding
Description
Pulse Workspace provides integrated SAML support by using Pulse Connect Secure as an
Identity provider. This feature enables simplified user registration by allowing the user to
provision their device with a corporate email address through the Unified iOS/Android Pulse
Secure client, without an admin interaction.

Android for Work Screen
lock Password Quality
Workspace added support for Android for Work Passcode compliance check. Screen lock
Password Quality - Specifies the screen unlock mechanism: pattern, pin, pin_complex, or
password. If the device is set with a different screen unlock type than that is pushed by the
console, then it shows the device as non-compliant. If the screen unlock type is "password",
then Passcode Length and Passcode History attributes will be applicable. If the screen
unlock type is "pin" or "pin_complex", then Passcode History attribute will be applic able.

Workspace Onboarding
Email template.
Workspace added a property to allow the customers to change their onboarding workflow

Problems Resolved in This Release
Table 2 describes issues that are resolved in this release.
Table 2 Resolved in This Release
Problem Report Number
Description
POP-4668
Registration fails for the first time for new users when there is no explicit policy associated
with the Workspace user.
POP-4566
In Policies page Policy heading is Users instead of Policy or Policy name.
PWS-3099
In the Policies page, the header of the policy column is incorrectly labelled ‘Users’.
PWS-3018
Observed delay in fetching the content on the app Approve page.
Known Issues in This Release
Table 3 describes the open issues in this release, with workarounds where applicable:
Table 3 Known Issues in This Release
Problem Report Number
POP-2483
Description
The Group validation status is updated to “Invalid” if a group is added while the LDAP
server is not available.
Workaround: Manually initiate the verification process once the LDAP server is available
again.
POP-3843
Pulse One may find an access-page [Default Sign-In Page] conflict after replacing the target
configuration with a default configuration.
Workaround: An appliance may have been configured with a custom logo, by going to
Signing In > Sign-in Pages > (SomePage) > Logo image
If a member of a group has a custom logo in (SomePage), and the master appliance's
(SomePage) has no custom logo, Pulse One will not change the member's logo.
After publishing to the member, Pulse One will report a conflict. In order to resolve this,
install your custom logo on the master appliance.
POP-3846
An appliance can be rolled back to a build that does not support Configuration Distribution
after being added to a group.
Workaround: Rolling back to an unsupported build (pre 8.1R7 or C5.2R5) will cause the
Pulse One console to display a “Publish Required” message for a change made on the

Mmster, or an “Out of Compliance” message for a change made on a target appliance. The
workaround is to remove the target appliance from the group before making the change.
For a master appliance, first promote another appliance to master, and then remove the
require appliance from the group before rolling back.
POP-4722
A certain undefined set of admin approved apps cannot be added to a policy.
POP-2193
Workspaces cannot be provisioned on iOS device with Unicode characters in the device
information.
POP-4440
A configuration distribution publish operation fails when trying to push a configuration with
connection profiles containing IPv6 pool information.
POP-4077
When a configuration push is attempted for a Pulse One group containing appliances with
different versions, the publish operation fails and the progress spinner keeps spinning
without recourse.
POP-4527
POP-4435
POP-4750
Not Connected appliance shows 'Publishing' in spinning mode forever.
Workaround: Remove the target from the group and add it back to the group
When creating an administrator account, if you use an email address of an existing account
with a new username, the administrator account is created with a blank username.
When deleting for an administrator after searching for them by their username (and
checking the ‘Remove entire user record’ checkbox), the administr ative UI does not refresh
and the user record looks like it wasn’t deleted. If you click on the account a ‘User does not
exist’ message appears.
Workaround: Please manually refresh the page or manually clear the search bar
POP-2935
Console password length field should contain the word minimum.
PWS-2103
The Workspace state on the console will continue to remain in the “space is being wiped”
state even after the action is successfully completed on the device.
Workaround: None
PWS-3115
After creating a New user space, Workspace Search box shows up the unwanted values.
Workaround: None
Accessing the server URL from the bug report takes admin to a wrong page.
PWS-2799
PWS-2700
Workaround: if admin has already logged in to the console, then accessing the server URL
should take a user to Pulse One console dashboard page.
Once the user deleted from the Workspace, it should remove the work profiles on the
devices that was registered to the deleted user.
Workaround: None
POP-4921
Trusted Server CAs are not distributable with this release.
POP-4736
Automatic Policy Push does not happen after changing existing policy tag to new tag
Workaround: Do a policy refresh on client
POP-5332
POP-5308
VPN profile pushed from PWS doesn't fill the username field.
Workaround: User Need to clear the 'Null' value and enter his user name manually.
Unable to add Paid apps in PWS console.
Workaround: None

POP-5257
User is allowed for SAML auth provisioning for a condition where PCS appliance was
unregistered.
Workaround: Check the Appliance status and if it's states Not Configured, Re-
registered the appliance
POP-5328
Server need to show the passcode policy properties which supports the Current AfW
passcode feature.
Workaround: Added a note on the Admin Guide to reflect the Supported Passcode
properties.
PWS Onboarding failed with the latest unified client (on third attempt after removing
POP-5114
profile)
Workaround: Go to Pulse One console->Workspaces->Search for the user->remove
user; then start the PWS onboarding.
POP-5335
POP-5167
The System > Configuration > Certificates > Trusted Client CAs submenus "Auto-import
options..." and "Proxy Settings..." are not distributable or visible in appliance comparison.
In the situation that a network error occurs when a Pulse One administrator attempts to
publish the configuration from a master appliance to one or more target appliances, Pulse
One incorrectly assumes that the publish is in progress and therefore stays in the
‘Publishing’ state for an unforeseeable period of time.
POP-5073
When Pulse One attempts to publish a configuration from a master appliance with NDCPP
mode enabled in the System > Security panel , and the target appliance is an SA or IC series
appliance while the master appliance is not one of these models , the publish may fail with
the message “Cannot update node 'ndcpp-mode' because it is not compatible with this
hardware platform.”
Workaround: Disable distribution of the System > Security block type.
A configuration mismatch issue occurs when a standalone master appliance is being
POP-4958
published to a two-node cluster of target appliances. The specific configuration blocks
affected by this issue can be found under: System > Log/Monitoring; i.e. Event Access,
Admin Access, and SNMP.
If an appliance configuration being published in a Pulse One group contains a VPN
POP-4440
Tunneling Connection Profile (Users > Resource Policies > VPN Tunneling > Connection
Profile) that has IPv6 address assignment to clients enabled, this action will result in a
publish failure with the following error message "IPv6 address pool cannot be empty".
Workaround: Create the IPv6 address pool manually on the target appliances.
If the master appliance has an Active Directory auth. server (with no password in the
configuration) that needs to be distributed to a target appliance, publishing the
configuration may fail. The event log of the target appliance will have a message similar to
PRS-343102
this: “Import of configuration from Pulse One returned an Error: [/authentication/authservers/auth-server[name=AD-2012/ad/settings] password field is empty; require non
empty value for this field.”
Workaround: Use the admin UI of the target appliance to create the Active Directory auth.
server and register it with Active Directory. The target appliance will upload this
configuration change to Pulse One. Then, click Publish again.
