LOCATING
Locate the Escort circuit board inside the control unit cabinet with adhesive stand-offs. Ensure that
there is adequate clearance between the Escort circuit board and other circuit boards, heat sinks,
batteries and wiring.
If there is any doubt of adequate clearance, use a PC4003C cabinet to mount the Escort outside the
control panel cabinet.
WIRING
Wire the Escort to the control panel and telephone connector using quad cable or other suitable
wiring as shown in the wiring diagram.
Note: The Escort operates from the keypad power supply. Ensure that the total current used by both
the keypads (including the Escort) and devices connected to the AUX supply does not exceed the
specification in the control panel’s Installation Manual.
PROGRAMMING
ESCORT
The Escort module is not programmable.
PC2525 CONTROL PANEL
The following sections must be programmed as shown to ensure proper operation of the Escort.
■ [09] 2nd System Option Code - ON / Zone Light 4 / Code must be used to abort Auto Arm.
■ [09] 2nd System Option Code - OFF / Zone Light 8 / Bypassed zones must not be displayed when armed.
PC2550 CONTROL PANEL
The following sections must be programmed as shown to ensure proper operation of the Escort.
■ [17] 3rd System Option Code - ON / Zone Light 4 / Code must be used to abort Auto Arm.
■ [18] 4th System Option Code - OFF / Zone Light 3 / Bypassed zones must not be displayed when armed.
PC3000 CONTROL PANEL
The following sections must be programmed as shown to ensure proper operation of the Escort.
■ [51] 3rd System Option Code - ON / Zone Light 2 / Code must be used to abort Auto Arm.

SET UP
The Escort module contains voice messages for every keypad controlled option available for the
control panel. These prompts are activated when the Escort receives the corresponding digital
information. If an option has not been used on the system the Escort will not provide a prompt for it.
When the Escort has been installed, enter the keypad commands for each option on the system to
make the appropriate message available to the system users.
Instruct the user on the proper use of the optional features of the system.
AUDIO LEVEL ADJUSTMENT
A volume control for the voice messages is located on the Escort circuit board. When testing, set the
volume to provide a normal voice level.
