The technological innovation of the New Ducato is the availability of Start&Stop on 130 and 150 MultiJet engines. The device
temporarily stops the engine when queuing, for instance at the
traffic lights with the gearbox in neutral, and simply restarts it
when you press the clutch.
It guarantees up to 15% fuel saving in cities and consequently
reduces emissions.
Start&Stop engines are provided with Gearshift Indicator to
suggest the best moment to change gear to exploit the engine
and further reduce consumption.
Furthermore, to respond to the needs of all missions, there are
two 6-speed manual gearboxes for keeping rpm low even on
motorways. A Comfort-Matic robotised automatic gearbox can
be fitted on the 180 MultiJet Power, the most powerful engine
of all, to combine the excellent engine performance and the low
consumption of the mechanical gearbox with the simplicity
and comfort of an automatic gearbox.
The Up button optimises gear shifts with the vehicle at full load
or uphill automatically guaranteeing the most suitable engine
speed in all cases.
