Version: User Manual – Import Payroll Data/2.0/September 2010 2 Import Payroll Data This feature is used to import Employee Masters and Attendance Vouchers from Excel to Tally.ERP 9. To achieve this feature, we have to do the following steps: 1. Copy the supporting Excel files Attendance.xls and Employee.xls to C:\ Tally.ERP9 which is extracted out of Supporting Files.Zip 2. Attach the file Import Payroll Data.tdl to Tally.ERP9, execute Tally and select the required Company. Note: For further information on downloading and attaching TDL to Tally.ERP9, please refer the document Steps to enable TDL in the same section/page at the beginning. 3. From Gateway of Tally, traverse through F11: Features Æ Accounting Features to ensure that the option Maintain Payroll is enabled. 4. Observe a new Menu Item, Import of Payroll Data in Gateway of Tally. 3 5. On selecting Import of Payroll Data, two menu items viz., Employee Masters and Attendance Vouchers are seen. Item Employee Masters is used to import the Employee Masters from Excel and Item Attendance Vouchers is used to import Attendance voucher from Excel. 6. On selecting Employee Masters, Menu Items Create Template and Employee Masters appear as shown in the screenshot below: 4 7. On selecting Create Template, an empty Excel File is created with the required data entry columns to enter Employee Master details as shown below: 8. Now after entering the data in Excel File, select Menu Item Employee Masters. It asks the filename to be imported as shown below: 5 9. On entering the filename with complete directory path and accepting the screen, Import of Employee masters is done from the specified excel file and subsequently, it displays the List of Employees Group as shown: 10. On selecting the required Employee Group for E,g., Sales, it displays all the employee details under the Employee Group, Sales including those which are just imported from Excel. 6 11. To import Attendance Vouchers, from Gateway of Tally, traverse through ÆImport of Payroll Data ÆAttendance Vouchers. Similar to the Employee Masters, we can see two menu items here viz., Create Template and Attendance Vouchers. Create Template is used to create and open up a blank Excel Sheet for entering Attendance Voucher details. 12. On entering Attendance Voucher details in Excel, select Attendance Vouchers to Import Attendance Voucher in Tally.ERP9 for a given date as shown below: Note: Single sheet data will be created as one attendance voucher on a given date. 7 13. Post import, the imported Attendance Voucher is display as shown below: 8
