Verona offers the “good life” to its residents
Like many residents at Verona, Judy
Marturano had had enough of caring for
her large lawn, shoveling snow and caring
for a big house. She wanted a simpler
lifestyle, in a comfortable home, and she
found it when she moved to Verona in
November 2014.
“I was an empty nester, shoveling a
double driveway and part of a cul-de-sac!”
exclaimed Judy, age 68, who purchased a
1,350 square foot, two bedroom condo in
the Manors Building at Verona. “I much
prefer taking part in many of the great
activities here, including my two favorites
‘Women Who W(h)ine’ and the singles’
‘Hamburger Quest’. It’s a great group of
people who live here, in a great location.
I love it.”
Mike and Linda Mabry, both age 53,
moved to Verona last April. They had
lived in Colorado Springs for 20 years,
and Mike had been commuting to Denver
every day for work. Once Linda had the
opportunity to work from home, they
made the decision to move closer to
“I passed Verona almost every day on
my way to work, and from what I could
see, I really liked it,” said Mike, who said
he and Linda looked at a lot of places, but
decided on Verona because of the great
selection of townhomes. “We’re in a great
location, with a fabulous view and easy
access to bike trails and parks. Verona
was easily the best value and the best fit
for our lifestyle.”
Verona also fit Thomas and Corrine
Hendricks. The couple (Tom is 58 and
Corrine is 54), moved to Verona 2 ½ years
ago, when they purchased one of the
Albero homes. They moved there from
Highlands Ranch so they could fully enjoy
their retired life.
“We like to travel, and really wanted a
lock-and-leave situation, where we could
take vacations and not have to worry
about yardwork,” said Corrine. “We love
being in a single level home, and really
enjoy the neighborhood, our close access
to the Highline Canal and great views.
This is a tremendously friendly, quiet and
nice neighborhood.”
If you’d like to live in Verona, there
are three home designs to choose from,
including The Albero, which features
a two-story foyer, three bedrooms and
baths, a great room with stone fireplace,
a gourmet kitchen, spa-like master bath

and a finished lower level with guest
suite and full bath. This 2,725 square foot
home starts at $739,573. The Barone, a
two-story home with two bedrooms and
a study (or the option of three bedrooms);
living room and two story fireplace,
formal dining room, gourmet kitchen
and master suite with a jetted soaker tub.
This 2,857 square foot home is priced

deck for views of the Highline Canal.
