The following details how to set up the Nokia 6230i to send and receive Multimedia
Messages.

Activating
Preprovisioned
Settings
Description
1. Select Menu
2. Highlight Messages and press Select
3. Highlight Message Settings and press Select
4. Highlight Multimedia msgs and press Select
5. Highlight Configuration Settings and press Select
6. Highlight Configuration and press Select
7. Highlight Optus MMS and press Select
8. Press the End call button to return to the main menu
As this handset is preprovisioned MMS set up is now
complete!

Requesting an
OTAP
1. Select Menu
2. Highlight Messages and press Select
3. Highlight Text Messages and press Select
4. Highlight Create Message and press Select
5. Enter set nokia mms and press the Green Handset
button
6. Enter 8888 and press OK

7. The mobile phone will send an SMS. Now wait.
8. An SMS will be received titled ‘SMS Service Settings
Received’.
9. Press Options, Highlight Save and press Select
10. If you are prompted with Memory full. Replace set?
press the OK button followed by Select and then OK
11. Press the Red Handset button to return to the main
screen.
The customer should now be able to send and receive
Multimedia messages.

1. Select Menu
2. Highlight Messages and press Select
3. Highlight Message Settings and press Select
4. Highlight Multimedia msgs and press Select
5. Highlight Connection Settings and press Select
6. Highlight Edit Active Settings and press Select
7. Highlight Settings Name and press Select
8. Enter Optus MMS and press OK
9. Highlight Homepage and press Select
10. Enter http://mmsc.optus.com.au:8002/ and press OK
11. Highlight Proxies and press Select
12. Highlight Enable and press Select
13. Highlight Primary Proxy and press Select
14. Enter 61.88.190.10 and press OK
Note: To change from text to numbers, press the # key and
hold for 2 seconds
15. Highlight 8070 and press OK
16. Leave Secondary Proxy as default, highlight Data
Bearer and press Select
17. Highlight GPRS and press Select

18. Highlight Bearer Settings and press Select
19. Highlight GPRS Access Point and press Select
20. Enter mms and press OK
21. Press Back twice
22. Highlight Active Multimedia settings and press
Select
23. Highlight Optus MMS, press Select - The mobile
phone should now display “Activated”.
The customer should now be able to send and receive
Multimedia messages.
