HOW TO USE YOUR AQUACHEK PRODUCTS
AQUACHEK TEST STRIPS
Test strips give accurate test results more quickly and easily
than any other method. As with any test kit, there are
several factors that can be controlled to ensure the
validity of the test results.
Step 1: Follow the directions that came with the kit. Sounds
simple, but there have been many cases where a user uses
the directions that came with another manufacturer’s strips
or from an older kit. Test strips are continually improving
and becoming more accurate, and you should never assume
that the directions on one container are going to apply to
another container’s strips.
Step 2: Store test strips in low humidity environments
at room temperature. Test strips are most effective over
a long period of time if they are stored properly. Suitable
storage gives you confidence in the results until product has
reached date of expiration.
Step 3: Keep the cap on tight between uses. Doing this will
prevent moisture from entering the bottle of unused strips.
It is important that moisture not be introduced to the test
strips until you use them in your pool or spa.
Step 4: Keep wet fingers out of the bottle. Test strips don’t
know the difference between the water on your fingers and
the spa water! Make sure that the only water your test strips
are reacting with is the spa water you intend to measure.

Step 5: Do not use expired test strips. Most containers of
test strips will display an expiration date somewhere on
the container. Always be aware of this date when using or
purchasing test strips. Test strips have a definite shelf life and
should not be used after the product has expired. Using test
strips after this date will likely lead to inaccurate results.

IMPORTANT AQUACHEK SAFETY TIPS
PRODUCT SAFETY TIPS
GENERAL SAFETY TIPS
CLEAN YOUR FILTERS: AquaChek’s products rely heavily on
filtration. Regular and proper cleaning of the spa’s filters are
pivotal to the success of using the product
SHOWER FIRST : Showering will reduce the introduction of
dirt, oils, hair products, deodorants, makeup, perfume etc.
to the spa.
MAINTAIN WATER LEVEL: Water should be at least 7 1/2
centimeters (3 inches) above filter intake. Low water levels
will lead to cloudy water.
KEEP THE AIR ON: AquaChek works better with air in
the water. Leave the air intakes “open” between uses to
maximize it’s effects. It is better if you can point the jets
upwards to increase water agitation when you are not in the
spa.
AVOID DETERGENTS: Bathing suits and clothing will retain
detergent left over from laundering. Detergent will dissolve
in the water and create foam. To prevent this, wash bathing
attire in water without any detergent to ensure it is free of it.
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN AQUACHEK TEST STRIPS
When it comes to the cleanliness of your spa, you want to make sure you’re accurately testing for impurities. That’s where the
AquaChek chemical tests come into play. There are differences between the test strips and how you use them, outlined below:
AquaChek Trutest Test Strips
AquaChek Bromine & Chlorine Test Strips
Test for chlorine and bromine, pH, and alkalinity. Dip a test
strip into your spa, put it into the digital meter and get fast,
accurate results in seconds. The strips and meter do the
work for you- no need for manual color matching!
Red/Bromine test strips are used for testing in bromine
based spa water. Yellow/Chlorine test strips are for testing
chlorine based spa water. Test for chlorine and bromine, pH,
and alkalinity.
AquaChek 7 (Silver)
AquaChek 6-in-1
These strips are the most comprehensive test strip product
in AquaChek’s professional line. They test for 7 chemistries:
free chlorine, total chlorine, bromine, total hardness, total
alkalinity, pH, & cyanuric acid (stabilizer).
These test strips test for 6 chemistries: total chlorine,
total bromine, free chlorine, total alkalinity, pH, and total
hardness in your spa.
AquaChek Salt System Test Strips
Test for free chlorine, pH, total alkalinity, cyanuric acid, &
salt (as sodium chloride). With appropriate salt levels, your
salt generator will be able to produce the correct amount of
chlorine to keep water clean.
AquaChek MSP 3-in-1
Test for 3 important chemistries in seconds: Potassium
Monopersulfate, pH, and Total Alkalinity. Monopersulfate
(MPS) is an oxidizing agent used in mineral purification
systems.
AquaChek Phosphate
Use the most accurate method for phosphate testing: a one
step, one-minute, phosphate test!
AquaChek ShockChek
Test for total & free chlorine and determine if you need to
shock (or super chlorinate) your pool or spa.
AquaChek Copper
This 3-in-1 test strip is designed for use with mineral purification/copper ionization systems. These strips measure pH
