Answering/Making and Holding a Call
Answering a call
1. Lift the handset, or press Speaker to answer using speakerphone.
Making a Call
1. Lift the handset or press the Speaker, or select an available line.
Putting a Call on Hold
1. On an active call press the hold button.
2. To pick up a held call, press the hold button. The display will show which
outside lines are holding calls.
Using your ESI-DEX
Adding a Contact
1. Press ESI-DEX (while your station is idle).
2. Press “PER” to reach your personal-DEX.
3. Press new and follow prompts to add contact.
Calling a Contact
1. Press ESI-DEX (while your station is idle).
2. Choose the appropriate DEX from the display (PER, STA, SYS, LOC).
3. Use the Volume/scroll keys to find the desired name.
4. When it appears, select DIAL.
Putting a Call on Exclusive Hold
1. On an active call press and hold the hold button for three seconds.
2. This call can now only be picked up from the phone that placed the call on
hold. To pick up, press and hold the Hold button on that phone.
Conference Calls
Setting up a conference call
1. Press Conference while the call is active.
2. Dial the number of the next party.
3. Press Conference to add the person to the existing call.
4. Repeat steps above to add further participants.
(NOTE) With all ESI Communication Servers, you can have up to 16 parties on a
conference call including yourself. For ESI X and E Class systems you can have
up to 4 parties on a conference call.
Recording a Call
Recording a active call
1. Press Record while the call is active.
2. This call will now be recorded and sent to your voice mail at the end of the call.
3. To cancel recording press Record a second time while the call is still active.
Transferring a Call
Transferring a Call
1. Press Transfer while the call is active.
2. Dial the number you want to transfer the call to.
3. Hang up the phone for a cold transfer.
Transferring a Call Directly to a Mailbox
1. To transfer an outside call to another user’s mailbox, press VOICE MAIL and
the appropriate station key (or press VOICE MAIL and then TRANSFER, and
then dial the extension number).
(NOTE) Even though you both will hear the personal greeting, you can hang up at
any time to release the call to the mail box.
