Description
The CF3000 range of intelligent, analogue
addressable control panels, are the first of a
new generation of fire products, to be launched
by Cooper Fire Systems, setting new standards
for functionality, reliability, end user operation
and system flexibility.
Utilising the most modern electronics and
manufacturing techniques we are able to offer a
technically complex range of facilities and
functions yet retain a simple to install, program
and operate, cost effective system solution.
The enhanced fire panel design allied with the
advanced sensing features of the new 300
series analogue detectors, utilising the
COOPER CLogic system
protocol, work to correctly
identify a fire condition,
speedily, yet disregard
non fire conditions, thus
reducing the incidents of
unwanted alarms.
System flexibility is at the
heart of the CF3000. It
offers a system solution for
all applications, be it a small
single loop system to a
large multi panel network.
The modular, distributed system design of the
CF3000 enables it to be configured to meet the
most demanding system requirements of any
commercial or industrial project.
The CF3000 series panels are available in a
1, 2 or 4 loop configuration which can support

For larger sites the CF3000 can be networked
to extend the system capacity up to 63 panels,
providing a total of 252 detection loops.
The CF3000 series panel is available with a
complete range of intelligent, analogue
addressable fire detection sensors and system
ancillary devices.
With the end user in mind the system user
interface is simplicity itself, with a large
320x240 touch sensitive LCD screen
(120 x 90mm viewable area).
The system controls are
menu driven, guiding the
end user in effectively
operating the control panel,
thus providing a simple yet
intuitive means of system
control.

with not only the end user in

but
also
the
installation contractor
The modular construction,
integrated power supply and large robust
back box, have been designed to allow for
either surface or semi-flush mounting and give
ample access for cable mounting and
termination, thereby ensuring panel installation
is easily achieved.

System Overview
System architecture
The CF3000 has been designed to provide a
feature rich analogue addressable fire
system yet ensure a simple installation
process and provide an intuitive end user,
system control interface.
To this end the system architecture h a s b e e n
d e s i g n e d t o a l l o w maximum flexibility with
a minimum of system hardware and internal
wiring.
The
screen
provides
comprehensive
information as well as a full QWERTY keyboard
enabling not only onsite text entry, should
changes be necessary, but also the ability to
add, remove or change a device without
requiring an engineer to attend site.
The interactive menu driven display
p r e v e n t s non-authorised operation of
the system by the use of user pass codes,
which also allow access to the various system
operation levels.
Basic functions such as mute buzzer, scroll
screen are available access level 1
U s e r f u n c t i o n s such as evacuate, silence
alarms, system reset, disable/enable modes,
view log are a v a i l a b l e a t l e v e l 2 a c c e s s .
System
setup,
reconfiguration
analogue values device test are
protected with a level 3 access code.
Change user/engineering codes are protected
with a level 4 access code.
System setup and reconfiguration f u n c t i o n s
a r e p r o t e c t e d v i a a separate engineering
access code.
To further ease end user operation, panel and
system status information is clearly displayed,
with fire and the various system fault conditions
being highlighted by a comprehensive array of
system status LEDs and 96 zone fire L E D s .
The panel consists of 3 core areas,
1. Integral power supply
2. Loop controller interface
3. Display and system controller
An additional printer controller and printer
assembly are offered as an optional facility.
User interface
Based on the very latest technology, the
CF3000 fire detection system introduces many
innovative ideas. F o r e m o s t o f w h i c h i s t h e
l a r g e interactive, touch sensitive, backlit,
20x90mm viewable area LCD screen, through
which it is possible to access the
comprehensive range of CF3000 functions and
facilities.
The touch sensitive screen automatically
configures itself to the function selected
taking the end user quickly to the required
facility.
F u l l s y s t e m m o n i t o r i n g information is
displayed on the large LCD screen in an easy
to understand format.
The system LCD display panel is fitted with
a smoked polycarbonate, h i n g e d f r o n t
c o v e r p r e v e n t i n g unauthorised access to
the system controls.
Scroll display and mute fault buzzer facilities
are accessed via press buttons mounted in the
cover.

System Overview
Each panel via its microprocessor maintains a
non-volatile 1000-event m e m o r y l o g o f
actions and occurrences on the
system.
The CF3000 can be supplied fitted with a high
speed, low maintenance thermal printer with
simple printer r o l l replacement.
System configuration
The
control
panel
system
architecture has been designed in such a way
that system expansion, within a single panel
solution or as part of a multi-panel network, can
be achieved with the minimum amount of
system downtime.

63 Panel network capability
The CF3000 control panel can be
configured for operation as a stand alone
1 loop, 2 loop or 4 loop panel or a s p a r t o f a
6 3 p a n e l integrated network system
solution.

Soft addressing
Using intelligent, CLogic system protocol, soft
addressing technology is used to provide a
simple efficient system setup procedure
which a l l e v i a t e s t h e n e e d f o r t i m e
consuming device addressing and p o t e n t i a l
p r o b l e m s d u e t o d u e l addressing.
The system ‘auto learn’ facility once activated,
on initial system start up, will scan the panel
loops and allocate an address number to each
device.

CLogic system protocol can support
a m a x i m u m o f 2 0 0 addressable
devices per loop.

60 sounders per loop
Up to 60 addressable sounders can be installed
on each loop (low setting).
The sounder tone and volume are programmed
via the main panel.

To augment the system loop sounder

Spur isolator facility
Another major feature of the CF3000 is the
ability to ‘spur’ analogue detectors from
the loop. Using a CSI350 - spur isolator unit,
this unit p e r m i ts a z o n e a r e a o f 300 series
analogue detectors to be c o n n e c t e d t o t h e
l o o p a s a s p u r. T h e C S I 3 5 0 h a s an
i n t e g r a l s h o r t c i r c u i t i s o l a t o r ensuring
loop integrity should a short circuit fault occur
between the loop and the first device on the
spur.

Loop and network repeaters
The CF3000 system repeater panels are
available in 2 models:
CF3000AR is a fully functional
repeater which is connected to a network
and will display all system wide activity and
provide system control.
CF3000PR can be local panel repeater
c o n n e c t e d v i a a l o o p , acting as a
repeater of its connected panel only, o r a
network
r e p e a t e r,
displaying
all
activity on the system network.

Loop mounted beam detection
Cooper Fire Systems are now able to offer a
totally integrated loop mounted reflective beam
unit giving savings on both installation and
equipment costs.

Installation
The generously sized control panel enclosure
allows ease of access to all areas within the
panel and is designed for either surface or a
semi flush installation.
External wiring mounting can be from either the
top or rear of the back box simplifying
installation.
With numerous cable screen earthing points
within the enclosure, loop and alarm line cable
termination is effortlessly achieved.
Networking
The Cooper peer-to-peer network enables up
to 63, stand alone, CF3000 panels to be
integrated into a fully co-ordinated fire detection
Site Installer
Site specific system programming is achieved
using our in-house ‘site installer’, configuration
software. This enables the commissioning
engineer to tailor the system operational profile
to exactly the client’s requirements.
The software is windows based and provides
