FEATURES
• Map functions
Nav Lines, Maps and Coastlines can be created and overlaid
on the radar screen to ensure safe navigation.
• Large color display in a compact cabinet
A 14-inch color display CRT fitted into a slim cabinet provides
a 182 mm-diameter effective usable radar picture, meeting the
IMO/SOLAS carriage requirement for ships up to 1,000 gross
tons. The display color can be changed for daytime or nighttime operation.
• User friendly operation
Controls and key switches are grouped logically according to
the nature of the functions based on the One-Function-OneKey operation concept. Plus, a touch of the MENU key allows
quick and simple operation of advanced functions to assist
navigation.
• High definition 1/8 NM range scale as minimum range
Using a High Speed Video Sampling technique, even the
minimum range picture can be defined to resemble a conventional PPI radar picture.
• Hands-free operation
A newly developed AFC (Automatic Frequency Control)
circuit allows the receiver to be always tuned in whatever the
range scale and pulse length are. In addition, the Gain, STC
and FTC controls can be set to AUTO mode. Combination of
these automated functions allows “hands-free” operation to
minimize the task load on the bridge. These functions can be
set to manual mode, if required.
• Ship’s movement shown in vector form
Using the standard EPA (Electronic Plotting Aid), other ship’s
movement can be represented in vector form allowing the
operator to assess the collision risk in congested waters. In
addition, this feature displays navigational data, including
ship’s course and speed, CPA (Closet Point of Approach) and
TCPA (Time to CPA). The EPA function complies with IEC
60872-3. When the optional ATA (Automatic Tracking Aid)
is used, up to 10 ships can be tracked automatically.
• Offset EBL/VRM
Distance and bearing of two targets can be measured using the
OFFSET EBL/VRM feature. This feature is essential in measuring the width of river mouth, narrow channel, as well as
navigable navigation lanes.
• Picture-offset to any point
Within 2/3 of the screen radius, the picture can be offset to any
point on the screen to gain more viewable range.
• Independent brilliance controls
The brilliance of the radar picture, markers, plot and Nav data
can be independently controlled via menus.
• Alarm zone
Using the EBL and VRM, an alarm zone can be created and set
to the operator’s needs in range and bearing. When a ship
enters the zone, an audio-visual alarm will be activated, telling
the operator that the ship infringes the safety zone. Collision
avoidance and anchor watch alarms are practical examples of
the application.
• Built-in performance monitor
Newly developed performance monitor is provided as standard. No need to install an expensive separate performance
monitor kit.
• Serial interface
The latest IEC61162-1 serial interface is built into the display
unit as standard, providing interface possibilities with external
equipment that outputs various navigational data including
own ship’s position, speed and bearing.
• Tracking data output
When the ATA (Automatic Tracking Aid) option is built into
the display unit, all tracked ship’s data can be output to
external equipment such as an electronic plotter unit.
