Customer Information: The information in this
installation instruction is intended for use only by skilled
technicians who have the proper tools, equipment, and
training to correctly and safely add equipment to your
vehicle. These procedures should not be attempted by
“do-it-yourselfers.”
TOOLS AND SUPPLIES REQUIRED
1.
Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the audio
system and the navigation system (if equipped).
2.
Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

Shift the select knob to “D” position by pressing down
on the shift lock stopper with the ignition key.
Remove the left side center panel (eight clips and
unplug the vehicle connectors).

Remove the pocket (two self-tapping screws, four
clips, and unplug the vehicle connectors).
12. Attach urethane tape to the Music Link harness at
the indicated position.

11. While pushing down on the retaining tab, pull out on
the lock until you hear a click to release the vehicle
connector.

14. Using isopropyl alcohol on a shop towel, clean the
area where the cushion tape will attach. Use cushion
tape and wrap the adapter unit harness as shown.
16. Route the adapter unit harness and the Music Link
harness as shown.

15. In the passenger’s console cover opening, install the
adapter unit to the vehicle bracket with the two 5 mm
plain washers and two 5 x 8 mm bolts.

clip.
20. Route the adapter unit harness and the Music Link
harness as shown, and secure the adapter unit
harness and the Music Link harness to the vehicle
harness with one wire tie.
21. Secure the adapter unit harness to the Music Link
harness with one wire tie.

22. Route the adapter unit harness to the audio opening,
and route the Music Link harness to the glove box
opening as shown.

30. Bundle up the excess adapter unit harness, and
secure it and Music Link harness to the vehicle
harness with the wire tie loosely secured in step 24.

32. Attach one urethane tape around each bus cable
2-port 14-pin connector.
33. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properly
and all connectors are plugged in.
34. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
35. If equipped with navigation, enter the navigation
code.
36. Enter the customer’s audio system anti-theft code.
37. Reset the clock on models without navigation.
38. Check operation of the security system according to
the security system user’s information provided.
39. Turn the radio unit ON. Set mode to Honda Music
Link by pressing “AUX” until display “CDC” or “CD4”
is shown on the radio display. If “CD-C EJECT” is on
the display, unit is in proper working orders.
