WARRANTY
Shelby Auto Security Warranty Information
Product warranty returns must only be submitted by an
authorized dealer.
All Alert models have a Limited Lifetime Warranty on the
main control module.
All parts excluding the control module have a two year
warranty against defects in workmanship. This includes the
shock sensors, remote transmitters and sirens. The control
module will be repaired or replaced at our discretion for up
to a 24 month period at no charge. After 24 months a $30.00
fee will be charged for repair or replacement of the control
module.
Removal and reinstallation charges are not the responsibility
of JBS Technologies, LLC the manufacturer of Alert. Warranty
registration must be completed within 14 days of the original
date of purchase. Registration can be mailed in or performed
on line at www.shelbyautosecurity.com. JBS Technologies
makes no warranty against the theft of a vehicle or its
contents. This warranty only extends to the original system
purchaser and the vehicle it was originally installed on.
Limitation of Remedies
The purchasers remedy is limited to the repair or replacement
of the unit and in no event shall exceed the purchase price.
Incidental, consequential and or indirect damages are expressly
disclaimed. No person or entity is authorized to alter or
amend this limited lifetime warranty.

OPERATION
A. REMOTE TRANSMITTER OPERATION:

B. ACTIVE LOCK:
1. Press the À button on the transmitter.
2. The horn will chirp (1) one time and parking lights will flash (1)
one time and remain on for 10 seconds indicating that the vehicle's
doors have locked. SILENT LOCK / UNLOCK: Pressing the A and mi
buttons at the same time on the transmitter will lock or unlock your
keyless entry system. No chirp sound will be heard, lock / unlock
confirmation will be through the vehicle's parking lights only.
» ACTIVE UNLOCK:
. Press the ml button on the transmitter.
. The horn will chirp (2) two times and parking lights will flash (2) two
times, then remain on for 30 seconds to indicating that the vehicle's
doors have unlocked and the dome light will turn on and remain on for
30 seconds. 2 STEPS DOOR UNLOCK: This feature will independently
Unlock the driver's door only. Pressing the m button a second time
within 3 seconds will unlock the entire vehicle.
D. PANIC FUNCTION:
The transmitter can be used as a remote panic switch to manually trigger
the alarm in case of emergency.
1. press and hold the A button for 3 second. The alarm will immediately

5. The pre-programmed run time (5 /10 / 20 / 30 minutes) has elapsed.
6. Press the transmitter À button twice.
7. The engine does not start after (3) unsuccessful attempts.
H. DISABLING THE REMOTE START SYSTEM: (If installed)
This feature will temporarily disable and prevent the vehicle from being
remote started accidentally. This feature is useful if the vehicle is being
serviced or stored in an enclosed area. To disable the remote starter, move
the optional remote start enable toggle switch to the “OFF” position.
REMOTE START OPERATION
Basic Functions:
Lock Button #1
Press this button (1) time, the Horn/Siren will chirp (1) time, the
parking lights will flash and remain on for 10 seconds and the doors
will Lock.
Unlock Button #2
Press this button (1) time, the horn/siren will chirp (2) times, the
parking lights will flash (2) times, the doors will Unlock and the
dome ght (if connected) and parking lights will remain on for 30
seconds.
E) Start Button #3
Press this button (2) times to remote start the vehicle. To shut off
the vehicle while in remote start mode, press this button (2) times
and the engine will shut off.

OPERATING PROCEDURES
3. Remove the key from the ignition. The engine will remain running.
4. Exit and lock the vehicle. The engine continues running for the pre-
programmed amount of time.
F. TIMER START:
This unit can be programmed to start and run the engine every 2 or 3
hours. The engine will run for the programmed run time and then shut
own.
IMPORTANT: Timer Start should be used only in open areas, never start
and run the vehicle in an enclosed space as a garage or carport.
2 or 3 hour timer start: This feature is design for an extreme cold climate
usage. The system will automatically start the vehicle every 2 or 3 hours,
to prevent the engine from freezing or for hard to start engines. A MAXIMUM
OF SIX CYCLES CAN OCCUR.
ENTER TIMER START:
1. Press the transmitters X button twice to remote start the vehicle. As
soon as the vehicle is running and the parking lights have turned on or
are flashing.
2.Immediately press the A and X buttons on the transmitter together,
within 2 seconds
3. Rapidly depress the * button. The parking lights will flash (3) times.
The siren or horn chirps (3) times. The vehicle is now programmed to
start every 2 or 3 hours.
4, Press the brake pedal to stop the vehicle from running.
Exit the Timer Start:
Timer start can be exited manually as follows:
1. Make sure the remote start is not operating the engine.
2. Turn the ignition switch “ON”. The LED and parking lights will flash (4)
times. The horn will chirp (4) times.
G. SHUT-DOWN INPUT FOR REMOTE STARTER:
If any of the following conditions exist while the system is operating, the
engine will not start or will shut down immediately:
1. The hood is opened.
2. The brake pedal is pressed.
3. You move the optional remote start enable toggle switch to “OFF”
position. (If installed)
8 4. Engine is over-revved. (“Tachometer Checking Type” only.)
OPERATION
2. During “Panic Mode”, the normal function of this transmitter button will
be suspended. The À and & button can be used to lock and unlock the
doors (if the option is installed).
3. To stop the alarm, press and hold the À or & buttons on the transmitter
again for 3 seconds. Also if any transmitter buttons other than the À or
m button is pressed and released, the “Panic Mode” will be turned off
immediately.
4. If the A or mbuttons are not pressed, the alarm will automatically stop
after 30 seconds.
E. DOME LIGHT SUPERVISION
Upon receiving the unlock signal, the interior lights will remain on for 30
seconds.
Note: Turning the ignition switch “ON” or locking the vehicle's door
will turn off the dome light.
F. IGNITION CONTROLLED DOOR LOCKS
If the vehicle's door locks have been interfaced with the keyless entry section
of the Remote Starter, the system will automatically lock the vehicle's
doors when the ignition is turned “ON” and will unlock the vehicle's doors
when the ignition is turned “OFF”.
G. CAR FINDER
Pressing the À button twice will activate the “CAR FINDER" feature. The
siren will chirp (6) times. The parking ight will flash (12) times, this will
help you locate your vehicle in a crowded parking lot.
Note: System must be armed for this feature to function.
H. SECONDVEHICLE SECURITY OPERATION:
Your 4-button remote transmitter can be utilized to control a second vehicle
security system. To program the remote control transmitter to a second
vehicle, follow the instructions for Transmitter progamming. All programming
parameters are the same except for the following:
1. Prior to pushing any button on the transmitter, press the Select the >
button first on the transmitter.
2. Once & button is pressed, the LED on the transmitter will illuminate for
3.5 seconds to indicate the second transmitter pin code is built-in.
3. While the LED is illuminated, press any button on the remote control
transmitter to control a second vehicle security system. 5
IMPORTANT NOTICE
WARNINGS:
As with any product that performs automatic functions, there are
certain safety precautions that you must practice and be aware of.
. Keep ALL transmitters out the reach of children.
: DO not leave anyone in the vehicle while in “Remote Start
ode”.
. Alert servicing personnel that the vehicle is equipped with a
Remote Starter.
. Do not start the vehicle by remote while it's in an enclosed area
or garage.
. Always apply the parking brake and lock the vehicle when exiting.
. Should the unit malfunction, disconnect the fuse until the problem
is corrected.
. The use and operations of this system is the sole responsibility
of the operator.
. Some areas may have local ordinances that prohibit leaving a
vehicle running on public streets.
OPERATING PROCEDURES
A. TO REMOTE START THE VEHICLE:
When you want to Remote Start the vehicle:
. Press the transmitters * button twice to start the vehicle.
: me parking lights will activate to indicate the remote starter received
e signal.
. The engine will start in approximately 5 seconds.
. Once the engine is running, after a couple of seconds, the parking lights
will turn on and climate controls will activate and adjust the vehicle's
interior temperature to your preset setting.
5. The vehicle will run for 5 to 30 minutes and automatically shut down.
NOTE: The Remote Starter will not start the vehicle if any one of the
following conditions exists:
1. The hood is opened.
2. The brake pedal is pressed.
. You move the optional remote start enable toggle switch to “OFF”
position. (If installed)
. The gear selector is in any gear other then “PARK” or “NEUTRAL”

B. TO TURN OFF THE REMOTE STARTER:
When the engine is running in “Remote Start Mode”, and want to shut
down the unit:
1. Press the transmitters Y button twice.
2. You move the optional remote start enable toggle switch to “OFF” position.
(If installed)
3. Press the brake pedal. The vehicle will shut down and turn off the parking
lights to indicate the engine stopped.
C. TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE IN REMOTE START MODE:
To operate the vehicle while running in “Remote Start Mode”:
1. Insert the ignition key in the switch and turn it to the “ON” (not the
start) position.
2. Press the brake pedal.
Note: If the brake pedal is pressed before the key is in the “ON” position,
the engine will shut down.
D. PIT-STOP MODE:
This feature allows the vehicle to remain running after the key has been
removed from the ignition switch. This feature is useful for occasions when
you wish to exit and lock the vehicle for short periods of time, but would
like to leave the engine running and the climate control's on.
1. Before turning off the engine. Press the transmitters * button twice
and the LED indicator will flash (3) times to confirm your signal has
been received.
2. Turn [he jgnition key to the “OFF” position. (The engine will remain
running.
3. The engine will run until the pre-programmed time elapsed or a shutdown
input is received.
E. TURBO TIMER MODE:
Turbo Timer Mode keeps the engine running after arriving at your destination
for a programmable period of 1/3 to 5 minutes. This allows the system's
time to conveniently cool down the turbo after you have left the vehicle.
To activate:
1. While the engine is running, place the transmission in park and set the
parking brake.
2. Before turning off the engine, press and release the d and X buttons at
the same time. The parking lights will turn on to indicate the remote start
has entered turbo charge mode. 7
