■ Getting started
INSTRUCTIONS
D This cloning software is designed to perform data
setting and cloning for the IC-F50/F51/F60/F61
VHF/UHF TRANSCEIVERS.
D HELP WINDOW: A help window describes the
function and operation of each items.

■ System requirements
■ Software installation
To use this program, the following hardware and software are
required:
• Microsoft® Windows® 98/98SE/Me/2000/XP
• RS-232C serial port
• At least 640 × 480 pixel display
• OPC-966 CLONING CABLE
D Installation
q Boot up Windows.
• Quit all applications when Windows is running.
w Insert the disk into the appropriate CD drive.
e Select ‘Run’ from the [Start] menu.
r Type the setup program name with full path name, then
press the [Enter] key. (e.g. D:\csf50\setup [Enter])
t Follow the prompts.
y Enter the product ID number in the following manner.
NOTE: Depending on your Windows system files, the PC
may require rebooting. In this case, repeat the installation
from the beginning.
• ID number: 268301 - (6 digit Serial number)
• e.g. the Serial number on the CD is 000001, enter “268301000001” as the ID number.
u Program group ‘CS-F50’ appears in the ‘Programs’ folder
of the start menu.
■ Connections
All cloning operations
are performed from the
computer’s keyboard
and the operation required on the transceiver side is:
q First, connect the
cloning cables as illustrated at right.
w While pushing [P0],
rotate [VOL] to turn
power ON.

e COM PORT MENU [COM Port]
Click to display the COM port (1 to 4 and More) and the
data transfer speed setting dialog box.
• Set the COM port number properly.
• Set the data transfer speed (Normal or High).
NOTE: ‘Check the following’ dialog box appears
when the COM port is not set correctly.

r CLONING MENU [Clone]
Click to display cloning menu and cloning information dialog box.

e.g. DTMF Autodial screen
q FILE MENU [File]
Used for saving memory channel contents, printing the
pre-programmed information or exiting the program, etc.
w VIEW MENU [View]
• Displayed Font Size is selectable.
• Turn the toolbar indication ON or OFF.
t MODEL MENU [Model]
Click to display the model type selection dialog box.
y HELP MENU [Help]
Click to display the help contents and cloning software revision information.
u TOOLBAR
Short cut keys appear on the tool bar when clicking the
toolbar function in the [View] menu.
i TREE VIEW MENU
Select the item that you want to edit.

Displays the channel or editable item information.

■ Before starting the programming
■ SCAN
Read all the transceiver cloning data into the PC before editing with the software. Otherwise the cloning data may not be
cloned properly to your transceiver.
ï Scan List/Setting
Set the Scan Mode type, Display Text, Text ON and PWR
Save conditions. And set the timer items for Stop, Resume
and Fast/Slow Scan, then turn the Power ON Scan and Auto
CH Call functions ON or OFF.
• Select the model type.
- LMR
: Land Mobile Radio. 2Tone function is available.
- PMR
: Private Mobile Radio. 5Tone function is available.
- BIIS PMR: Binary Interchange of Information and Signaling.
MSK and 5Tone functions are available.
■ Memory CH
The ‘Memory CH’ window allows you to edit the channel information.
ï Bank Operation
Specify a bank conditions, each bank name and capacity
(number of channels). And also, shows the number of memory channels condition for reference.
ï Bank
Specify the operating frequency and details of the operating
conditions for each memory channel that is assigned in the
bank.
NOTE: Program the RX frequency first, otherwise no setting can be done.
■ MSK (available only when BIIS PMR is selected)
ï ID Range
Set the ID range for Individual, Group and Common, then set
the Country Code and Killer ID.
ï Own ID/Group
Set the Own/Group ID code, Display Text, Alert and Bell Icon
condition for decode action.
ï Call List
Set the transmission ID, Input Digit, Text, Update and Sel
condition.
ï Message—Status
Set the Display Text, Beep, Auto TX, Priority and Sel condition.
ï Message—SDM
Set the SDM (Short Data Message) of up to an 8-digit and
Sel condition.
ï Timing & Error
Set the Call Parameter items for NA, NM, NR, TAC, Call LET
Timer, Ack LET Timer and Busy Check Timer.
ï Config.
Set the MSK configuration items such as PTT Call, Pre-Emphasis and SYNC Word.
■ DTMF
ï DTMF Autodial/ Setting
Edit the DTMF Autodial Code, Text, and then set the time period/signal length for the DTMF Timer, First Timer and M #
Timer.
■ Continuous Tone
ï Continuous Tone/Setting
Set the RX/TX Continuous Tone frequency, and then set the
Continuous Tone Setting items such as Tone Burst, User
CTCSS Freq (Hz), TX/RX DTCS Inverse.
■ 2Tone (available only when LMR is selected)
ï Code CH
Set the 2Tone code channel items such as 1st/2nd Frequency, Tone Period, Text, TX Code Type and Bell condition.
ï RX Code Setting
Set the RX code timer for Notone, Group and Beep Repeat.
■ 5Tone
(available only when PMR or BIIS PMR is selected)
ï RX Code CH
Set the RX code channel items such as RX Code, Text, ID
Dec, Bell, ABC and Beep.
ï RX Code Setting
Set the RX code timer for Link A, ID Decode and Beep Repeat, and set the Compare Digit for decode action.
ï TX Code CH
Set the TX code channel items for TX Code, Input Digit, Text,
Update, ABC Dec/Aud and Sel.
ï TX Code Setting
Set the TX code timer items such as Long Tone, Link R/1/2,
Lead out Delay, and set the displayed digit, PTT Call at Inaudible and special tone items.
ï Format
Set the time period for the Tone Period, Notone Timer and
Tone Length in the format.
ï User Tone
Set the tone frequency for the Encode and Decode Low/High
respectively.
■ Common
ï Key & Display Assign
The desired functions can be assigned to [Up], [Down], [P0],
[P1], [P2], [P3] and [Red] programmable function keys. And
set the beep audio frequency, Opening Text, MR/Code Display, Scroll Timer (BIIS PMR), RF Power selection and Move
to Prio A CH function.
ï Set Mode
Set the condition of the set mode items such as Backlight,
Beep and SQL Level. And select the set mode “Enable” or
“Inhibit” (on the transceiver) for each item.
ï Common
Commonly set items such as Clone Comment 1/2, User
Password, PWR ON Password, Transceiver Data Out, Auto
Reset—Timer A/B, Inactive Timer.
ï Character Editor
You can make an original character (Max. 16 characters) and
use it to indicate on the LCD.
