control rotary mixing valves in hydronic heating applications.
AUTOMIX motor is reversible with fixed limit switches for an operating
range of 90°. The motor can be supplied with an additional auxiliary switch.
AUTOMIX motor can be manually operated in case of a power failure. This
is done by turning the handle on the front. The position of the valve is indicated on the reversible scale.

limiters are adjustable. AUTOMIX 100 controls the system even when
the heating season is over. An interval control starts the circulation pump
and the mixing valve for a short time once a day. This prevents the
pump and the mixing valve from getting stuck.

low opening pressure makes TERMOBAC suitable for installations
where self-circulation is obtainable.

FUNCTION WITH TERMOBAC DB 40 RETURN-FLOW PREVENTER
•
The boiler temperature is adjustable 60°C - 80°C. Pump P1 starts
charging from boiler to storage tank when the boiler temperature
Tk has reached the selected temperature and stops when the boiler
temperature Tk is 1°C below this temperature.

If the boiler temperature Tk drops below +40ºC, the relay starts the

source is not on, the charging from storage tank to boiler continues
to work normally.

TERMOMAT 10 thermic loading valve has two built in return-flow
preventers. The valve is designed to avoid self-circulation in two
directions and to ensure a minimum working temperature of 72°C
in the heating boiler. This encreases the efficiency, prevents tarring
and considerably prolongs the lifetime of the solid-fuel boiler.

TERMOBAC DB 40 double-acting return-flow preventer has a low
opening pressure and a low pressure drop. The valve is designed
to avoid self-circulation in two directions.

TERMOMAT 2 is a differential temperature control and perfomance
monitor for storage tank applications with twin storage tanks in
which heat is collected from the primary tank to a secondary tank or
boiler. It controls the charging pump. TERMOMAT 2 has a relay for
automatic operation of an additional heat source.

TERMOMAT 3 is a differential temperature control and performance
monitor designed to charge a storage tank with a pellets or oil heated

• TERMOMAT 2 measures the temperature difference between a primary and a secondary storage tank. The charging pump is controlled so
that the secondary tank keeps its energy with a maintained layering
for as long as possible. When both tanks are out of energy a relay
automatically starts an optional additional heat source. A digital
display shows the temperatures T1, T2 and T3.
• TERMOMAT 3 measures the temperature difference between a storage
tank and a boiler. It controls the burner and the charging pump. When
the storage tank is out of energy, burner and pump start working. A
digital display shows the temperatures T1, T2 and T3.
• The pump starts charging from the primary to the secondary tank as
soon as temperature T1 is above the selected value or temperature T2
is below the selected value.
• The burner stops when temperature T3 is higher than the selected value.
• The pump stops when temperature T3 has reached the selected value,
temperature T2 is higher than T1 or T1 is below the selected value.
• The relay automatically starts the additional heat source when temperature T1 drops below the selected value or T3 is 3°C below the
selected value. In this case the pump does not run.
• The relay does not work when temperature T2 is higher than the
selected value.
• The burner starts when temperature T2 drops below the selected value.
• The pump starts when temperature T1 is above its selected value and
above temperature T2.
• The pump stops when temperature T3 is higher than the selected value.
The pump continues to run for 3 min before stopping.
• A system with a TERMOVAR loading unit ensures a minimum return
water temperature into the boiler, which eliminates the risk of
destructive thermal shock and prolongs the life-time of the boiler.

• With TERMOVAR thermic valve the temperature of the secondary tank
can be limited to 45°C, 55°C, 61°C, 72°C or 80°C.

TERMOMIX 3-way and 4-way compact mixing valves of brass have
been developed especially for small hydronic heating systems,
boilers, heat exchangers and air heating/cooling applications.
TERMOMIX valves can be used as mixing valves or as diverting
valves. There are several ways of installing. TERMOMIX valves
have excellent control characteristics. They control both supply and
return lines. The valves can be mounted in any position. TERMOMIX
valves are very suitable for motorizing because of their low torque.
The valves are available for right-hand and left-hand mounting.

TERMOMIX H is a series of 3-way and 4-way mixing valves of cast iron
for boiler valve units. The valves are available for right-hand and lefthand mounting. The supply and return connections are reversible. On
standard delivery the supply is on the left side. The scale is graduated
on both sides and can be reversed if the valve flow direction is

control domestic hot water temperature. The desired water temperature
within the range 38 – 65°C is selected with the knob.
TERMOMIX thermostatic mixing valves are delivered with compression
fittings. When mounted against external threads an adapter is to be used.
TERMOMIX thermostatic mixing valves are delivered with a return-flow
preventer to avoid self-circulation. The valves can be mounted in any

operated valve unit for solid-fuel boiler/storage tank installations, where
heating and domestic hot water are taken from the storage tank.
TERMOVAR LOADING UNIT ensures a minimum return-water temperature
into the solid-fuel boiler, which increases the boiler efficiency, prevents
tarring and considerably prolongs the lifetime of the solid-fuel boiler.
TERMOVAR eliminates the risk of destructive thermal shock caused by surges of cold return water. TERMOVAR renders a more effective burning and
is therefore a necessary part of a solid fuel installation with a storage tank.

TERMOVAR LOADING UNIT
1. The heat up phase
The loading pump should be controlled by a thermostat that
measures flue-gas temperature. The pump will start when
the boiler is fired up and stop when it has ceased to fire.
The boiler water is circulating to the loading unit and back
while the temperature of the boiler is rising.
2. The loading phase
The thermostat element in the loading unit is affected by the temperature of the water circulating from the boiler to the loading unit. (See table below.) The thermostat element starts opening at 61/72/80°C * and is fully open at 73/84/92°C *. When the temperature in the boiler reaches
61/72/80°C * the thermostat element opens and allows return water from the storage tank to be mixed with supply water before it returns back to
the boiler. The temperature of the supply water determines the working position of the thermostat element.
A balancing valve in the loading unit regulates the internal flow of the supply water. The working position of the thermostat element determines the
closing position of the balancing valve. (See table below.) When the temperature is 67/78/86°C * the thermostat element starts to close the balancing valve. This causes a higher flow of return water into the boiler. When the temperature reaches 73/84/92°C * the thermostat
element is 100 % open and the balancing valve is 100 % closed.

3. The end phase
The thermostat element is fully open. The balancing valve is
closed. This results a maximum cooling of the boiler and the
storage tank is filled with supply water.

INSTALLATION
INSTALLATION POSITION 1:
TERMOVAR
TERMOVAR 45°C - 55°C - 61°C - 72°C or 80°C
INSTALLATION:
TERMOVAR installed in the supply water pipe.
FUNCTION:
When the solid-fuel boiler has reached the selected temperature the thermal valve
opens. Supply water from the boiler is loaded to the storage tank. Return water
from the storage tank is mixed with supply water before flowing back to the boiler. The loading continues as long as the boiler is being fired. A balancing valve
is to be installed between boiler and loading valve.
TERMOBAC:
When the loading of the storage tank is completed the circulation pump will shut
off. The TERMOBAC will now prevent self-circulation from storage tank back to
boiler. In case of power or pump failure the TERMOBAC will open automatically
for self-circulation.

The loading pump should be controlled by a thermostat which measures boiler
temperature. The pump will start when the boiler is at operating temperature and
stop when the boiler drops below this temperature.

TERMOVAR LG is a loading kit designed to keep a high boiler temperature in a solid fuel installation with a storage tank. TERMOVAR LG
ensures a minimum return-water temperature into the heating boiler,
which increases efficiency, prevents tarring and considerably prolongs the lifetime of the solid fuel boiler. After firing a backflow
preventer prevents recirculation.
TERMOVAR LG is available in two designs:
LGE equipped with a constant temperature control to set the return
temperature of the boiler steplessly 0 – 90°C.
LGT with a thermally operated valve with a fixed temperature of
45°C, 55°C, 61°C, 72°C or 80°C .
TERMOMIX LG can be delivered customised.
